I had the pleasure of working with Lisa to create a specialized birthday cake for my daughter. I thought the process would be a little difficult because I am all the way on the East Coast but it ended up being so easy because Lisa was stellar in her communication and customer service. I must’ve called her and emailed her 20 times (not exaggerating) and, in every instance, Lisa quickly and thoroughly answered my questions with patience and assurance. The cake was beautiful (and delicious!!) and completed on time, delivered on time and I even got pictures before it went out. I am so happy with Vienna Pastry and could totally sense Lisa was really glad to be a part of the birthday! I will definitely be a repeat customer! Lisa went above and beyond and I highly recommend this bakery!

A hidden treasure in Santa Monica. Vienna style bakery that’s been open for over 50 years. My mom worked in Santa Monica and would always bring us pastry’s home after work. Highly recommended!

I just wanted to shout out this classic pastry spot on Wilshire in Santa Monica. It doesnt like you can find places like this very often now. The family business has been around for over 50 years and you can feel the homemade environment the moment you walk in. I dont always love everything I get here but someone always does. I usually buy things here to share with friends at gatherings for for celebrations. Much love to businesses like these in Santa Monica.

Pastry was delicious and latte was perfect. Service was excellent. Selection of cakes and goodies is amazing.

We bought several (14) amazing looking pastries to taste for our daughters birthdays coming up and even though they look beautiful I was not impressed with the actual taste but one which was the small apple cake. even at $2 a piece I personally dont think they are worth it. We also bought a dozen of the cookies and they seemed a bit dry. On the other hand the pumpkin pie was delicious.

Such a cute store i love the facade and all the cakes and pastries inside. I picked up an apple pie/tart and I was expecting everything to be much more expensive. Very Happy!

I went into Gem & Loan today in Beverly Hills (March 11, 2014) and met with the proprietor who is a very gracious and generous gentleman. He offered me food because it was lunch time, which I politely refused since I was not in the mood to eat. So he extended his generosity and suggested some cake. I said, why not? When he brought this heavenly treat I couldnt believe it would be that good. I immediately lost my composure and requested more, hoping he had much more.He stated it was from his cousins bakery in Santa Monica. All I want to tell whomever is reading this ... if you enjoy good food, check-out this spot! Youll thank me later.

A fabulous pastry shop true to its name with many pastries with Austro-Hungarian roots. Ive been going here for years and its certainly the best on the West side. The few negative reviews I read seemed to be based on single experiences. Over all this is 5 stars. And you cant beat the prices they are truly astounding and inexpensive

It is rare to find a bakery that sticks to traditional Viennese pasties. What a treat to find authenticity and quality all round up in one bakery. This place is wonderful.EDIT:Like many stores and places that got hit by the virus pandemic, this great pastry shop is now history.

Wonderful long-time neighborhood bakery in historic 1940s Art Moderne building on Wilshire Blvd. Tip: Vary your morning routine by picking up delicious pastries here (I recommend the lemon muffins) before stopping at the nearby Starbucks for your coffee. The plentiful metered parking along Wilshire makes this a quick stop. For a special occasion, a variety of beautiful -- and, for the kids, adorable -- cookies and cakes can mark a birthday or any celebration. (Order custom cakes in advance, of course.)

This place is horrible! The staff is quite rude, as when I was ordering a cake they were laughing at me. Which is incredibly rude to a customer whos just trying to order something. They also couldnt understand a word what I was saying. ALSO there is a huge language barrier, they couldnt understand one word, and couldnt say a word.There food also taste dry and not very pleasant, I was not pleased at all. I do not recommend this place as they have Rude Staff and very unpleasant food. We have been a loyal customer who as been getting cakes for so long and they have gotten worse.

Napolean cake is by far my favorite dessert from here. Also try their little fruit tarts.

I have visited this bakery for years and it has been so good I would take a box bunch home. Recently my visits have been disappointing as the pastries were stale.

This place is quite cheap, especially considering its location. They have a large selection of baked goods but the staff isnt very good at what they do. When my friend asked what one of the white cake slices was, they responded Red Velvet. Im not sure if it was a language barrier or something but if you work in a bakery--I think you should know what each item is. I have tried several of their mini cakes, the eclairs, and the fruit tarts. All of them seemed not as fresh as they should be and reminded me of the desserts at buffets. The staff is not very friendly and stopped my friend from taking a photo of their display--Im not sure why they dont want people doing that because my friend was just trying to put it in a Yelp review, which would potentially help their business.

My grandmother brought over an alligator pastry. My first bite into it and I felt a sharp pain in the back of my mouth. Turns out they baked a toothpick into the cake! I’m glad I found it otherwise it could have ripped my intestines open.They should be shut down!

Ive used them a few times in the past for custom cakes and had an OK experience, but the customer service has become so abominable that I will never use them again. There are too many far better options in the area.

I was sold two old stale, frozen cream puffs -- will never go there again!!! they were attempting to pass off old easter egg cake at a special price. NEVER EVER!!!!
