Always something new and fun. I hit it every year before festivals and the Burn. Nancy, the owner, is the best. If you need a fun, quirky, cool gift, skip the mall and go to BRAT.

The coolest mom and pop local shop defies categories. Perhaps brat could best be described as an homage to the 50s with a modern sensibility. I found gifts for several women that I could have spent hours looking for across town or on the Internet. They stock 50s housewife aprons, tea towels, tablecloths, weekly planners, and so much more. It was hard to pass up the cellophane package of Press On mens mustaches! Do yourself a favor and wander in, chat with owner Nancy, a chatty encyclopedia of music and lore from the 50s to the present.

This little local place is a hidden gem. Great, affordable clothes and accessories and unique gifts are in abundance at BRAT. The owner is lovely and a long time fashion addict and influencer who continues to contribute to the unique community of Santa Monica. This is an amazing small business that deserves your attention.

Eccentric, bohemian curiosity shop. Nancy (owner) has a selection of items ranging from Lucheador masks, to Lunch pales featuring meat, from R. Crumb sketchbooks to Frida Kahlo socks. The sunglass selection is fantastic. My favorite place to shop!
