Not so friendly staff! I rented some bikes here the other day with my family members. We were told TWICE that there is a 15 minute grace period after closing time to bring back the Bikes. We even asked if that was okay and the staff member said “Yeah don’t worry you have 15 mins.”Later on, as we’re riding our bikes back to the shop, my phone starts blowing up. And Laura decides to leave me voice messages at 6:02 and 6:04 pm threatening to charge us for stolen bikes if we don’t show up in ten minutes! We’re were back at 6:08 pm, with Laura reminding us we’re late!Look I understand there’s a closing time for shops, but don’t tell patrons that you have a 15-minute grace period and then threaten us!! If we were that LATE I would have called you back to let you know to wait and would have gone as far as tipping you for your time!Especially if we have a child riding with us who is a little slower at riding a bike. I was very offended at the way Laura acted towards my family members.Just a little friendly reminder that in the real world sometimes a Job does require you to stay a few minutes after closing. I work in sales, and sometimes I have to stay HOURS after closing, so grow-up child! You should be happy to be working during these times.
These bikes are in horrible condition. They’re old and clearly have not been serviced. Myself and another person in our party fell due to the tires being worn out and slippery.Get there early and rent from another location. There’s actually another place right down the street and way cheaper and in better quality.
My husband and I rented a tandem for the all day price of $55 and were told to have the bike back at closing which is 6:30. The employee wrote 6:30 on the agreement as well. The bike was in pretty poor shape. It was rusty and made a lot noise while riding it. That wasn’t a big deal to us but what happened next concerns me very much. We enjoyed our day cruising the beach and upon returning the bike at 6:28 the store was locked up and no employees in site (have pics with time stamp). We knocked loudly several times and walked around building to see if anyone was in back but could not find a soul. This is very poor business practice. A store should never close before posted closing times and if there was an emergency a note could have placed on the window to tell us what to do with the bike. I tried calling the emergency number listed in the window but did not get an answer. We had to leave a bike in front of the building with the basket and lock that we rented as well hoping that it doesn’t get stolen. A customer should not have to worry about this while on vacation. Very disappointed.
My friends and I lucked out the day we discovered Legends Bike Tour. We live in L.A. and decided to try it. It was surprisingly informative learning local history and famous highlights. We pedaled through Santa Monica and Venice watching the local color and beach culture. If you come here to visit or are looking for something different as a local, I highly recommend it. What a fun day !!
Haven’t had any issues here. 10$ for an hour. Worth it to me. I biked all over the boardwalk and all the way down to the second pier.
Quick, easy process and the bikes were in good shape. To provide a better experience for tourists I would suggest creating a map that shows restaurants, destinations, and/or landmarks along the bike trail path.
This place advertises that it’s open until 6:30pm everyday. Beware, however, because if you show up at 4:30 thinking you’ll rent any equipment, you’ll be turned away. This could have easily been communicated when I was in line. Instead, I was acknowledged while I was in line, waited 30 minutes to get to the front of the counter, and then turned away. The staff doesn’t respect their customers time. I wouldn’t recommend.
My family and I came here and rented four bikes and a little wagon that hooked on to the back of my moms bike for my little sister to sit in. The bikes were amazing and the service was even better. We had a young guy helping us named Jack. He was kind thoughtful and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to people visiting Santa Monica.
Great service but the rentals could use abit of a tune up. . invest in your products and make more..
I only used the ATM in the store. It gets a 4 star instead of 5 because the ATM has a $3 charging fee.
They charged me for a whole hour for I was 5 minutes late, and did not let me get the one hour they charged me for.
Semi-polite staff. The bikes are not in the best shape to say the least. You have to pay extra for basket and lock.
Fast friendly service. Great selection. Professional.
Rude and unprofessional staff. After inquiring about bikes for rental they claimed none were available. After pointing out the ones out front they said they were no longer renting bikes (3:00 pm). Eventually they allowed us to rent the bikes but were quite rude. The brakes on the bikes were in marginally functional states.
Great place to go and enjoy Santa Monica
Meets the need, but a little disorganized. It has better companies.
Bicycles in poor condition, invoice at one hour and deliver much later, in addition to pay in cash and charge the credit card, double charge. The day we rented the bicycles there was no one and they still delay in delivering them so that time runs and they charge extra for the minutes of others, I do not recommend them, they are very aware of the time and only pay with a card, but they steal the money
Very bad attention, they begin to charge the rental hour from the moment they make the billing receipt and deliver the bicycles a long time later, in addition, the collection of the deposit that they charge to the card according to them for damage or loss, is charged and they do not return the money
