A wonderful, neighborhood music shop. Our daughter rented her cello from Santa Monica Music Center and they took great care of us. Whenever we needed anything, the staff was friendly and helpful. They have an excellent instrument rental program.

Its a Thursday and I was stressed out at work. I walked 1.5 miles to get here soI could unwind and play piano a bit. I asked the gentlemen working if it was ok, and he gave me a thumbs up. I went into a room with a piano that was horribly out of tune and beat up, but I didnt mind so I started playing the best I could. About 15 minutes later, I was told to leave or pay for a private studio. I was shocked at his rudeness, since there were barely any people in the store. I had always been welcome to play as long as I wanted anywhere else. I was genuinely looking for a piano to buy, I will not ever becoming back here.

I am a drum teacher here since I think over 18 years...whoever says the staff is rude or management is no good...well take it from me..They are ALL great. I would not be working here if otherwise. All the teachers are VERY proficient with tons of experience. Sometimes they get a new staff member in downstairs at the store or upstairs at the school who needs to learn the skills but give the new guys a break.The new boss Lana is creating a new more exciting space to learn, and be able to try out all kinds of instruments. Me personally I encourage my students who dont own drums yet always to stay and practice after their lesson. No one at the desk ever make them pay for the extra studio time.All in all its a great neighborhood music store and music school and can highly recommend checking it out.

I have been a very satisifed customer of the Santa Monica Music Center for many years now. If you are looking for music lessons from quality instructors and experienced musicians, this is the place! This family owned business has an excellent reputation and has been serving the community for over 30 yrs. They are also a music store, providing everything from guitar picks to sheet music, and instrument rentals, at very fair and reasonable prices. Another bonus is their very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Always corteous, helpful, and willing to offer sound advice, whether you are a novice or a more experienced musician involved in the music industry. Its also a great place to network and hook up with other musicians in the area. I highly recommend visiting Santa Monica Music Center and see for yourself. I know you wont be dissappointed.
