Im not a big fan of music stores because of an abusive childhood guitar education and deep deep busking pockets. TruTone gets it right so why not five stars. Now if they just quit taking my band flyers off the Hollywood Reporter paper box out front wed all be very successful...βœ¨πŸ‘βœ¨

Third time Ive been to this store and third time Ive walked away with a treasure. Excellent, non-judgemental customer service. Possibly fewer guitars than on previous visits but still enough to lighten my financial burden 😁

I bought a Squier from Truetone via Reverb. I made a specific request about shipping, because of the building I live in, but Truetone suggested a different option, and the next day my guitar was at my door, in San Diego. A few weeks later, while in LA I dropped the guitar off at Truetone for a setup and warranty repair. I picked it up, and its great! Intonation is spot-on, frets and fret board look great, repair done, just excellent. Through every stage the staff at Truetone has been extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. Truetone has a fan for life.

The staff watched me come in 3 separate times looking at the same guitar, which was out of my price range... I didnt ask for any kind of deal or discount, but they took off $300 because they could tell how much I wanted the guitar (it was already a bargain in the first place). These guys are awesome. I cant say enough about their services. This is the first and likely the last review Ill ever write, but they really deserve the praise. You guys are the best, cant thank you enough. I will have this guitar for the rest of my life and will always appreciate how cool you guys were.

I love this place for the books, the overstock areas, the staff recommendation section, and just losing my self in that great selection of books they have. The staff is kind of standoffish and not too friendly, so I took a star away for that vibe. But dont let it stop you from going here, as it is a truly amazing book store.

I bought a Guild F-130 from Truetone. They had an unbelievably low price, and their service was amazing--personable, but not intrusive. They obviously love what they do.The Guild is a beautiful and responsive guitar. Its fairly thin, and so is easy to hold and has a warm and immediate tonality. Beautifully assembled. I put elixir strings on it and its a joy to play.

This is my local guitar shop and it should be yours. Experts in everything guitar. Just tell em what sound you want to make and theyll take it from there. And the best repair counter in town. From collector pieces to starter guitars and everything in between. Comfortable, private tryout rooms, huge selections. I cant say enough good things about True Tone.

The place itself is beautiful- like a museum where you can buy things; Ive thoroughly enjoyed browsing several times and always see something new and interesting. The service is generally courteous and attentive. I took my guitar in because it was buzzing and they fixed $91.00 worth of everything else; being told that they polished the frets and adjusted various parts of the guitar in unexplained and unverifiable ways after leaving it there for over two weeks felt a lot like when a homeless guy walks up to your car at a stop light and tries to wash the windshield for tips- I was like, ...but I didnt ask for any of this and it still buzzes so what now? I was told that I should expect a certain amount of buzzing on any guitar at least a dozen times before I agreed to just pay and leave. My main complaint is that if theres nothing to be done about the buzzing then they should have said that when I brought it in instead of keeping it for a fortnight just to charge me for unrelated mystery repairs. I wont be going back there because I dont have money to waste but if you do have some disposable income I cant deny they have the coolest stuff for sale.

The must see guitar pro-shop-boutique. A wide selection of guitars, basses and gear that will make your jaw drop and wallet fall out. All products have been meticulously vetted by two guitar shop owners that care so dearly for the instrument, its gear and store presentation. ...all in a beautiful, upscale retail environment. Its like a museum where you can buy stuff... The sales staff consists entirely of musicians and the cozy place also features the largest staff of instrument repair technician and luthiers you will find anywhere. If you want to sharpen your skills or learn the instrument they have one of the best teachers in the nation, Shawn Fleming. ...Just google the dude. You owe it to yourself to drop by and see what other music stores wish they could emulate.

I was originally disgruntled with Truetone Music. I had an amp repaired that didnt work after I picked it up, I never got an estimate, and it was not cheap. I had to make several trips, had to have friends pick up the amp while I was out of town, and most important I didnt have my amp when I needed it. I made my unhappiness known with the store in person and on the phone.**They redeemed themselves and reclaimed me as a happy customer. For my troubles they gave me a pedal Id wanted, were very apologetic and sympathetic for their mistakes, and now I am a huge fan of the guitar shop. Granted, it was not the most flawless encounter I could imagine, but the ability to set things right and to be honest means a lot to me and they have my respect. I never write reviews, but because of this appreciation and respect, I decided to this time. I will always go to Truetone Music and will recommend it to anyone looking for a killer guitar shop.

Experienced one of the worst customer service situations I have ever faced. I never take the time to write reviews (positive or negative) but I had to for this one of out principle.Brought in a guitar to be tuned up and was told it would be two weeks before it was finished. Although I thought it was a long time I didnt mind. However two weeks passed and still no sign of my guitar being completed so I called multiple times in the following week to get an update. Each time I was met by a gentlemen (not the same people) over the phone who did not care about the lateness of my order, and gave me an attitude when I talked to them. Finally canceled my order because I was over it. It was only at this point when I notified them that I was canceling, did I get a call back saying they were ready to work on my guitar.Expected much more from a business that seems to pride itself on its quality of work. Maybe Im a possible outlier of a bad experience, but I feel like each customer should matter just the same and if one customer isnt happy that should be a problem to your business.

The shop itself is great, and the techs are skilled. However, I got work done on my guitar (new pots, set up, sanded neck, new pickup) and while the work was executed perfectly, they were unable to estimate a 140 dollar labor charge. When I left my guitar there I was expecting to pay somewhere around 175, when I picked it up I ended up paying 320 and didnt realize until I looked and my mobile banking app (my own fault for not paying g enough attention at the register) that being said, I work in construction and our bids for work estimates contain labor costs and our margins for difference is never that dramatic. There is no reason they could not have let me know the cost would end up over 100% more than the original number they put in front of me. On top of that they didnt even clean the fret board. For such a steep labor charge Id expect more. Ill still give 5 stars because everyone is friendly and the work done to my guitar is awesome plays and sounds great. I just see no reason for the huge price discrepancy. Im trying to be more positive so I decided to not go In and ask for a refund of some sort. We make the beds we sleep in. Just be sure to ask for an end price on your guitar work, anyone who is a pro should be able to give you a semi accurate price that you will end up paying
