I was always customer service was excellent. Dont. The work came is the work game within the amount quoted. The work was completed far earlier than I expected. I was given a detailed review of other issues that were found with the car as well as suggesting which repairs were most important.Maybe a bit higher than some. You get what you pay for. True professionals. Worth every dollar they charge. My cars never go back for a do over.

To be clear, the staff and technicians are nice and knowledgeable people. I have taken two cars here for various items over the last couple of years, primarily due to convenience as the shop is very close to my home. I think the technicians do solid work, but over the course of repeat visits, I am starting to recognize that they are overly expensive. As an example, just today, I had the throttle body replaced on my Ford Edge. Everywhere I have searched online, this part costs just over $100 dollars. In fact, the most expensive I found for the same part was $204. Family Auto charged me $467 for this part. This equates to roughly a 143% mark up on the part which I cant help but feel is incredibly uncalled for. The shop also charges a $150 diagnosis fee which I think is also excessive. The icing on this cake was that they also nickel and dimed me for $25 dollars in gas that they said they had to put in the tank due to low levels during the drive testing and diagnostic phase. In short, I paid way more than I needed to and Im certain these guys know that.

I wish I could give more than five stars to this place. It was my first time going there, but wont be my last for sure. Both Robert and Brian took their time to explain to me what my car needed. They were very fair, and unlike most places they dont rush the customer and try to charge them an arm and a leg. Overall, I am very satisfied with their service.

Brought my car in to get the brakes fixed which was a good thing I did because they found a bolt missing that was supposed to be holding together my strut. I’m very grateful because if it wasn’t found, something bad could have happened later on down the road. I have a 3 year old son who rides with me. I am very grateful to say the least. I recently received a coupon in the mail and decided to give family auto care a shot. I am very happy I did as I am really happy with the service. They fit me into their busy schedule on the same day I called. I got a oil change and tire rotation for $67 total. That is unheard of on a F250. I will be going back for sure for all my auto needs!!! My SIL took my car in and 1st time $1200 didnt fix the problem, took it back.2nd time still didnt fix it. 3rd time changed the Air Filter and guess what tada. So why $1200 hmmm and btw engine lights still on.

Used family auto to get an alignment done on my focus st, I called 6 other alignment shops that had 2 week plus wait times. When I called family auto they told me to come in the next hour. After dropping my car off they finished in about an hour and a half. Great prices, will definitely use this shop for future alignments!!

Brought my vehicle in to have the heater cores replaced (mine has 2) and my AC vaccumned and charged. Was told it would be done in 2 days I didnt get it back until 6 days later and now im left with a laundry list of electrical issues. Steven the guy who worked on it cut out my horn wires and blew my abs module did extra wireing that no one called to tell me about or get my approval on. And now no one from the shop wants to talk to me or answer questions..Dude finished working on replaceing my heater cores and then couldnt get my truck to start. What else do i need to say?

These guys always do a great job. One nagging problem of noise on starting my car, eluded two other shops who didnt really bother to fully investigate the problem. Simply passing it off that they couldnt duplicate the issue. These guys located the problem and fixed it. Better yet, I got my wife off my back to get the problem fixed. Its a win-win!! Thanks guys.

Called Friday thinking I’d have to wait a week or so for service. Chris said they could see me in less than 2 hours from the time I called. Thought they were just going to inspect my 2016 Jeep Cherokee and schedule service for later, but they not only checked out my vehicle, they were able to do an oil change, brake fluid change and tire rotation in just about 2 hours.Service was great, facility was spotless and Robert was very professional but friendly. He even advised me to not have something done there, that should be done at the dealer. I love that kind of honesty and will always promote honest businesses. My only regret is that I’ll be moving out of state in January and won’t be able to make these my “go-to” mechanics.

Front desk guy said they were booked for that day and he could not fit me in for an oil change, after I saw the sign out front and walked in. He could have said “oh yeah, just leave it”, made a quick buck, and held my car hostage for hours (happened to me before). So a few days later I made an appointment and everything was great.Friendly, fast, inexpensive, clean waiting room and restroom, decent taco shop two doors west. Will absolutely go back. Thorough inspection of my car showed a couple things and they gave a pragmatic evaluation. No BS like I seemed to always get at express tire or similar. I feel good supporting a locally owned business instead of a national chain too.

Had a bad heater hose on my audi a4 they fixed it in a timely manner and we really personable and professional I told all my friends at work and bring my daughters car in soon .I cant say enough just a good place you can count on to do it right.

These people take advantage of Females. They over charged my wife over $1000.00 for the simplest of jobs. My wifes Mustang need work, and her first experience with Family Auto Service in Santee was was good, they fixed her car and gave a good price, she was happy. The second time the car was funning ruff and she took it to Family Auto Service in Santee to have a diagnostic check that cost $137 and the estimate was over $1476 to repair. We would have to wait till pay day so she picked up the car and got the estimate. After I reviewed the estimate, I was blown away by the amounts that were on the bill. There was Alternator install and part $650, Belt $102, tensioner/ idler assembly install and part $271, coil assembly part and install $230 and then fuel cleaning service of $139. Parts of $1001 and labor of $395. WOW!!! I called 3 part stores and got the best parts - OEM or Factory new and this is the truth. New Alternator $264 not $556. Tensioner Idler OEM $62 not $178. Belt Factory $38 not $102. Coil assembly Factory $75 not $119. Then I check the Mustang and found all the parts were very easy to replace. I got the good parts, watched a Youtube video and was able to get the job done in less than 1 hour of my labor. So, lets recap it really cost $439 in parts and not 4 hours of labor, more like one hour at best. To be honest she should of had a bill of $550-$600 not $1476 plus the $137 diagnostic check. Mothers, Sisters and Daughters beware of this shop, they will lure you in the first time and do you wrong the second..

Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Theres this lady Jessie went out of her way to get the parts needed for my car, so that I dont have to wait much longer. Chris is very good and entertaining. As for the work done for my car its very thorough they make sure that I dont get the same problem again, I was there for almost 8hrs since they couldnt get the parts needed. Thats the only downside. In all Im very happy I went to this mechanic. I would definitely recommend them . Ps. They fix the thermostat housing it would have cost me 1800$ if I got it done from chevrolet dealer, their price is much much lower.

A friend recommended Family Auto service to me with an excellent review so when I began experiencing clutch issues I took my truck in and my experience couldnt have gone better, Jesse was very clear and concise with her communication all steps of the way; she answered all of my questions and made me feel really well taken care of. People were nice, service was good, but no work was started until an hour after the appointment time, and service was not completed until shortly after the promised time.

I was immediately greeted by a cheerful Randy on the phone, he answered all my questions in understandable terms and immediately agreed to look at my Volvo. Their prices were very fair for the exceedingly quick service that they provided to me. I begged for a quick turn around and not only did they succeed but they were faster than they quoted me. They kept in contact with me the entire time and did not try to mechanic jargon me but used clear terms that I could understand. I also appreciated the shuttle service! Very friendly and so helpful. Had my pug with me offer cold water to her and offer me coffee. They explained in detail on what would happen and found me a coupon with the price. And time they finish was so fast. The staff, smiling and greeting everyone that came through the door. I would differently go back and til a friend. The best thing was getting a text a week later asking how are things going and if they could do anything or if I needed something, loved that. An email would have not been this personal. So guy keep up the best customer service there.

Pls never go to this place they took advantage of myself I came out with a $400 bill and they kept my original paperwork I gave them, they took advantage of an old woman and charged me three lots of labor and original 137 dollars to look at it. And all I got on the diagnosis was probably this probably that. Then they chose to put a new oil cap on and gas cap as well. They would only take cash. And the person Robert that did this I was told no longer works there. My daughter called that day to complain and they said if we will give her two free oil changes. We cannot give money bk. They are cons. I went bk to face them but still excuses I had a jammed window they pulled it apart and now it shakes. These are people that only want to take your money Especially if you are a woman, don’t go there. Disgusting to think they can treat you this way.

I left my car and walked home and sooner than I thought received a phone call it was ready and went to pick it up and Randy checked me out, was also friendly, polite, didnt rush me. I havent had such good service in a while. It is so nice to go to a place that is efficient, polite, friendly and such great service. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be going back.

Really nice people running the place, nice seating area for your very long wait. The checking in process takes a really long time. I was also told the oil change would be 45 minutes and it ended up taking about 2.5 hours. Unfortunately, that is just way to long for routine maintenance. Like I said, very nice people, they left my car perfect, and detected an issue in their safety check, but I probably wont be back due to the time issue.

I received a coupon in the mail for a oil change from this local Santee auto shop. I saved it it did not have an expiration date. I took my two boys and Van in and the gentleman said keep the coupon today we have a half off special on oil changes and it’s a little cheaper. I thought wow that’s really cool so I did. The person name that helped was Joreal . Also my van took more oil then what the service price provided an . They keep the price the same and put in the right amount of oil that I needed.🙃😊😀. I cannot recommend this place enough! I went here because my car was making an awful screeching noise when I turned it on and was having some general issues that go way over my head. Robert and Jesie were really awesome and got me in and fixed my car the same day. They didnt try and up-sell me pages of stuff like how Dads warn their daughters about, and they were really clear about what needed done, the cost, the time, and even offered a discount.The lobby was air conditioned(it was very hot outside) and clean, and there was available restrooms and hand sanitizer. Robert even offered to turn on the television for those of us waiting in the lobby if we wanted.They also have a free shuttle service to take you home while your car is being serviced and will pick you up when your car is ready. I didnt get the name of the nice gentleman who drove me home, but we had pleasant conversation and he was a great driver. And I didnt even live in santee, I live in El cajon, and they said that was okay!I am so, so pleased with the whole process, and I will definitely be making this my go-to place for any future car problems!

Dave and the other two mechanics are extremely knowledgeable extremely friendly and the most trustworthy mechanics I have ever had. We have been going to Mission Gorge Automotive 4 over 15 years only one time did I go one place else for a repair on a car and they ruined my vehicle. I ended up suing the place that damaged my car and Dave from Mission Gorge Automotive even went to court with me to testify what he did wrong when attempting to fix my vehicle. I dont know any mechanic in San Diego County that would take a morning off of work to attend court for somebody that chose another auto shop for repairs. After they are done fixing your vehicle they give you the part they replaced and walk you through exactly what was done the most honest hard-working knowledgeable mechanics in San Diego guaranteed.

David and his dad have been working on my cars since 2003. I always got honest answers and to be honest, the best prices around. Not to mention, that my car was always done within 24hrs no matter what the issue was. Highly recommended.
