Shane and his crew are exceptional. Highly recommend them to anyone who needs work done on their car or truck. Won’t just try to sell you on the most expensive parts but will explain the difference between options.

Shane went above and beyond to try to fix our old car that was overheating. Estimated repairs were reasonable but more than the car is worth so we declined. He went out of his way to make sure we got the car home safely so we wouldn’t have to worry about breaking down on the side of the road. I wouldn’t hesitate to use his services again in the future!

I found D & R automotive through the AAA website. I knew I could trust them because of that, plus the other reviews I read about them were very positive. I currently own a used 2003 Toyota. I brought it in mainly for an oil change and my check engine light was on. I was very nervous about how much I would be spending on it. I use to own an Audio A4 and getting out without spending over $1000 every time was unheard of. Checking in was easy and they gave me an estimate of $160 which made me hugely relieved! They did end up finding a few things of concern with my car but all the quotes given are reasonable. I will have to bring my car in at a future date for them but I will definitely bring it back to D & R. Everyone there is so nice and helpful. They provide shuttle service and you can get texts to notify you of when to call them which I think is very convenient. I love supporting local small businesses and I highly recommend to use D &R!

Everyone at D&R is fantastic. It almost feels like Im working with family. They take the time to walk me through everything and answer all of my questions. They also help me make decisions about how to proceed. My parents trust D&R so much they are the ones who recommended I go to them. And now I bring both of my daughters cars to them too!

I have a 2018 CRV with a little over 50k mi and needed service for a B1237 code. The guys at D&R were direct and their pricing was fair. I had gotten a quote from Lemon Grove Honda, and the amount I paid at D&R was probably $20 to $30 less. But I would much rather support a locally owned small business. I will go back to D&R for my next service.

D & R have been taking care of my vehicles since the 90’s and are always honest, efficient and timely. Friendly staff is a plus. They inspect the vehicle and keep you informed of any issues to consider to stay running smooth. 👍

Ron was able to get me on the road in short notice. They did great work, we’re very friendly and saved me a bunch of money by providing honest service - something very hard to find while traveling on the road full time. I’ll absolutely be using them again if I find myself back in the area.

Great shop! Always been hard to find a good place for my older trucks, one ‘76 and one ‘88. But have been going here for a couple years and always been happy with the service.

I had a pretty good experience with D&R. They were polite and direct over the phone about the repairs needed and the costs, they asked great questions that showed they really knew their work, and I never felt pushed to get work done that wasn’t necessary. It took a day longer than the estimate but they were sure to let me know once that was clear.

OMG I just got done at D and R Automotive and can I just say what a nice experience I had. The customer service is top notch especially Nancy and Ron they are just such a great duo. In the last year, we moved to a new neighborhood and were looking for a new local auto sho. We received their flyer in the mail and decided to check them out. We have 4 vehicles in our family and they are all serviced at D&R. Prices are competitive, everyone is super nice and helpful and best of all they are about 5 minutes from home. We highly recommend them !

Relied originally on Automobile Club rating to try them out when we moved to East County almost ten years ago. Have been going back ever since because of the high quality of the work, great customer service, willingness to prioritize repairs--with safety always first--and their never pressuring to upsell. The true test of integrity for me was when they walked away from thousands of dollars of work and counseled me instead that a car simply wasnt worth fixing. Cant recommend them highly enough!

This is an honest shop. Went in for a free AAA inspection and they pointed some things out that should be taken care of...and suggested to my wife that if I was remotely handy I could do it myself.

Been going to this place for years. The owner are great guys and there staff is super friendly. They dont pressure you getting stuff done on your vehicle.

They are friendly, responsible, work well and make sure my car was done promptly and well. They keep.me updated of any other issues my car may have and give me a chance to discuss it with my spouse before doing any extra work.

I had noticed a fairly significant oil leak and brought my sons car in for an estimate. Sadly, they confirmed my fear, that it was a rear engine seal leak. They carefully explained what the problem was, and how they would fix it. I brought the car in a couple of weeks later for the repair. They completed the job in the time promised and the car is leak free and running well. The staff is very friendly and the lead mechanic (Rick) is very friendly and knowledgable and clearly explains the problem and what was done to resolve it. This seems like a honest shop that provides high quality work. Not much more you can ask for from an auto repair shop. Recommended.

Ive gone to D&R automotive for honest, reliable and prompt service for my cars since 1992. Theyve never disappointed. I have gone to other shops closer to home for oil changes or a tail light out and Im always left thinking I should have made the trip to D&R in Santee. Great customer service and fabulous work!

If I cant do it at home, I bring it here.Nobody loves to have to, get their car fixed, but this is as close as it gets. Ive been coming here for years, referred by a coworker. Honest, they do what they say and need to, and suggest things that should be done.I wont show up for 9 months to a year, and when I do come in, they act like they just saw me.
