Two employees for 50 people looking for help at the tree stand. Managements response, “no one else to help”. We’ve been told we have to bring the tree up ourselves. The employee who is bagging our tree said “oh my gosh this is huge I may need someone else to help carry it”.... how nice the customers get to lift their own trees that are too heavy to carry. My husband is now covered in sap... bravo again Sarasota Home Depot... BIG management problems at this location
Where do you go for anything in the building industry? Home Depot of course - but their garden center is one of the best that I have ever visited. The plants are guaranteed, well taken care of - bug free and reasonably priced.
For the most part, everyone was nice and willing to help out. Except for one older man who was a cashier in the garden section. I went up and asked if they had a certain plant, and he said I dont know, I just ring them up. Although, everyone else was very helpful, I was disappointed that particular man.
Where should I start? I went to this location to order two pallets of sod, 50 bags of topsoil, and fertilizer for our yard. The staff people both at the customer service desk and the garden center (where they sent me after blankly staring at their computers for 20 minutes) had absolutely no idea how to do this. Finally, they gave up and sent me to the pro desk. The first women I talked to at the pro desk, a heavy set women with long brown hair, seemed to be annoyed at me for being there and was very short and condescending towards me. She then sent me back to the garden center for a code and to pay for the soil (since it would be part of a separate order) and told me to come right back. When I returned after 10 minutes, she had left for lunch, telling no one that I was coming back. I sat at her desk for 20 minutes as other staff passed by, oblivious to what was going on. Finally, I glanced and saw my paperwork on her desk and just took it and left, deciding to just call back later.Next, I rented a truck from the store to haul the soil, fertilizer, and a bunch of mulch. When I pulled the truck over by the garden center, two employees began to load it using the forklift. They must have used the *F-word* in front of my pre-school aged son about two dozen times. I wasnt pleased and expressed this, receiving an ingenuine my bad, dude in response. When the pallets of sod were delivered two days later, it was almost 4 hours late, right before the afternoon thunderstorms began. This was a major inconvenience, since I had organized for people to be at my house at the quoted time to help lay the sod.About twenty percent of the sod that was delivered was crumbling and disintegrating in our hands as we were taking it off the pallet and trying to lay it down, making the process almost impossible. This was an inferior and damaged product that would never have been allowed to be sold at the store location. When I called to tell them about the damaged sod, I was blatantly told to call and deal with the vendor instead, despite the fact that I had bought it at the store location. After explaining that I was unhappy having to deal with a vendor who I had not purchased anything from, I was told that they would act as a middle man and wanted me to take pictures of the damaged sod. I did this and sent them to the manager that I had spoken with on the phone. When I didnt hear anything back for two more days, I called back and it was explained to me that they needed another picture of the entire yard, which I begrudgingly sent, as it was becoming clear that I was in the midst of a total communication breakdown.Over a week had gone by before I heard anything. Finally, someone from the store location called my cellphone and left a message, asking if everything was alright and had been resolved? Nothing had been resolved. When I called the extension left on the message, once more, nobody knew what was going on or who I was supposed to talk to, including the manager on duty. This gentleman explained that he would send an email (to God knows who) and that someone from the store would get back to me once they figured out what was going on. Unbelievable.Honestly, I dont want any freebees or handouts, I just want some of my money back from the 20% of my order that was damaged. At this point, it feels like a lost cause and seems like nothing is going to come from me trying to get the situation resolved. My advice: if you encounter rude, indifferent, or clueless employees or are told that part of a major purchase is coming directly to you from one of their vendors, run away and take your money elsewhere. After spending thousands of dollars at this Home Depot location over the past few years, I am done.
Always great service but this time Brenda from the gardening area and Clare from Customer Service definitely excelled. Home Depot should be very proud of them.
Very accommodating! Great job
I love Home Depot garden center!
Went in to get metal stakes. 4 clueless employees and 30 minutes later, I find out they dont even have this simple item in store. I then waited another 15 minutes in the garden area check out line because there was only one cashier. Very annoyed right now.
Quite knowledgeable about gardens.
