Great place, great food, great people. I order from Happy Garden quite often and deliveries are always prompt and food is hot. The other day my order was different than expected and they went above and beyond to fix the issue. Shout out to you guys! Keep running a great business!

Portland as a whole was underwhelming, but ordering in and having this delivered after a long drive was awesome. Food was done perfectly, piping hot on delivery, courteous service, and the best Chinese food I have ever had. They saved our stop in Portland from being completely wasted.

I ordered delivery on 9/26/2021. I obviously gave my address and they quoted me 30 minutes, 45 minutes go by, the delivery driver calls and says he’s outside. I go out.,.. no one there. Call his phone, no answer, called 4x. Call the restaurant, now there calling him, he calls (delivery guy) and says “oh, I’m at the wrong place… he FINALLY shows up and he’s a member of the club he was dropping the food off at…. Uh.,,, WHAT??? You got lost?????? Kuddos to Happy Garden for taking care of me! Definitely, earned my business! Thank you!

The food is good. It is your typical 3rd rate American Chinese food.... But I enjoy it when I am in the mood for that. (3rd rate isnt hating but it isnt gourmet.... It is the typical place with that fried rice).... I will keep going there and enjoying it.

USED to be great, until as of late.. ALL of my order on July 16, 2021, tasted as if the oil was old. I ended up throwing everything out!!I will venture elsewhere for some good Chinese food.

Ordered two lunch specials. Shrimp & Broccoli as well as Chicken Chow Mein. Also ordered a large order of fried shrimp. Went out to scarborough to pick up the order. Got all the way home in portland. Sat down to enjoy my lunch. To find out that they didnt screw up one part of the order they screwed up every aspect of the order. To my dismay, I got shrimp and lobster sauce & chicken Lo mein. As well my large fried shrimp was a small. I called the restaurant to let them know and spoke to the manager who told me I did not order what I ordered and that I was a liar. He them HUNG UP ON ME. If there was a way to give NEGATIVE STARS...I would!!!I

Best Chinese food available, bar none. Fresh, cooked to perfection, and did I say Fresh? Happy Garden has it going on. Try the general tsos chicken, the poo poo platter and the beef with broccoli. Im hungry again just writing this post.

Was visiting my daughter at MECA and went to two restaurants before going to the Happy Garden. There was a 2 hour wait at both of the other Chinese restaurants. So I was worried at first when they said my order would be ready in 20 minutes. I was ordering for 8 people. Not only were the portions large but delicious. I mean really good. This will be a stop every time I visit the Portland area. And the host was very friendly. Referred to me by name from the order I placed. Wonderful experience.

We ordered sesame beef and Singapore Mei Fun. Taste great. We happily placed another same order and again taste great. Highly recommend!

Amazing food at really good prices. While the dinner entrees seem a little steep, one you realize the sheer amount of food you ate getting you realize that Happy Garden is a great bargain.The seating is sparse for dining in, but that is too be expected for a primarily delivery and take out place.Service was prompt and extremely friendly. I suggest this place for anyone who likes Chinese food and gigantic portions.

Christmas night experience was poor! Called order in about 5:30 pm they said it would be an hour to pick up......not ideal but ok....before leaving to pick it up received a call saying it would be another 30 minutes. Disappointed. Arrived at HG they had on my ticket to be ready at 7:45.......some of the food not hot when arrived back home. Wont be doing that again.

Went for lunch. I got the Singapore Mei Fun and found it quite delicious. Fast service and everything I had was great. Ive been there 3 times and so far have found everything to be good.

This place is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have been to. I must preface this with the fact that I have only gotten takeout and have never dined in. The food is excellent and always consistent in its servings, appearance, and taste. I have never been let down by anything Ive ordered. The service is exceptionally fast for takeout as well. Lastly, the staff is always friendly when I come in to pick up and pay. I would highly recommend this as your new local go to for Chinese.

Chicken was about as tender as rawhide. Rice tasted two days fresh. You order in and served like its take out. Best part was the cold beverage out of the cooler. Id suggest the 15 minute ride to south portland for some good Chinese food.

We used to frequent Happy Garden. Then they started to call my number. I asked them to stop. His reply at that time was We just wanted to know if all was good? I told him then, that I would definitely let them know the next time I made an order. They had called twice after that. Another store had opened closer to my house, I go there. I must add, their food was good. I never had a problem making a request. But with help turn over ? Or many be a language barrier ?

I really enjoyed the food here. I got food for take out and it was super tasty. I got General Tsos chicken with white rice and egg rolls.

Id give it a 5-star of they had a decent wine and spirits selection. I get that this is a winery but their top wines are ok at best and their spirits selection is terrible. Mixed drinks are very good. Just dont come here hoping for a good whiskey or bourbon.

If you enjoy a good buffet style meal, you will have a great time in Happy Garden restaurant. The food is very good, and the wait staff is courteous and the prices are pretty decent for the amount of servings you are able to receive. Good place for a date night, or with family. They have Asian style food that again is very good.

This is all Ive wanted in the past 2 years, a place with reasonably priced, delicious, unhealthy Chinese food. The dinner combo is a good amount of food. Egg drop soup was tasty, crab ranguns were crispy and hot, and the sweet and sour chicken seemed to be made with good quality meat. Cant wait to try the general tsos next.

Happy Garden restaurant is a wonderful place to eat. The service is great. The atmosphere is nice, clean and pleasant. The people that work at Happy Garden are very polite and curtious. But the best thing is, the food is AWESOME!!!!

Happy Garden has become my familys go to Chinese food choice. It was recommended by friends of ours that live nearby and frequent there often.Good size portions and price is reasonable. Their service is friendly, prompt, and fast.Seating is limited inside of the restaurant. Their main business is take-out. So table service is very limited. We have eaten there and found it be relaxed and fun people watching due to the take away traffic.

What can I Say? OK I will say something. This place makes the BEST chinese food I have had from NY to Bangor Maine when Sings restaurant was in business. A few years ago, I asked if they could make Orange Shrimp, which was not on the menu. No prob for them at all, and I believe its actually on the menu to this day. Above and beyond! P.S. I have had the opportunity to evaluate other mandarin locations, and am at a loss for how they subtract flavor! Unfortunately I can only afford this once a month, Not that they expensive, only that I work as a mechanic. LOVE YOU GUYS!

This place, for the money, is some of the best Chinese Ive had locally. If youre into flavorful and moderately spicy, I strongly suggest trying the Singapore mai fun. They seem to have a special knack for it.

I always thought this place had the best tasting Chinese food, but I have noticed lately that everything fried is way overcooked.update: much better food this last time. didnt skimp on the duck sauce. everything was juicy and fresh.

Not big on their food. Nothing special. Egg rolls taste deep fried while frozen. There is mystery meat in them. Gross. Kids loved the vegetables rice.

Food is delicious, served hot and fast. Inside seating is limited to about 8 booths. Not fancy, but clean. Large variety of choices.

First time visit today. Good food, fresh tasting and crab Rangoon and spring roll was crisp and not greasy. We miss Wok Inn in South Portland but have a new place, close by, to have Chinese food.

My girlfriend and I just got happy garden delivered for dinner...almost immediately after eating both of us had a crazy bad aftermath as we got to know the white porcelain throne quiet well. On the plus side, the food was delivered pretty quickly with us being actually in Portland.

The food here is reasonably priced, but just a bit worse than you would expect for regular old Chinese food. Service is decent and the staff are friendly, but whenever I go here I usually end up disappointed.

Happy Garden used to be one of my favorite restaurants but it no longer will be. I refuse to order from them again. The new owner is rude, disrespectful, condescending, and very unprofessional. He lacks customer service skills. The front doesnt know how to take proper food orders. The owner argued with me for over 20 minutes over a large duck sauce that I had originally ordered but was never charged for because the person who took my order didnt listen He continuously laughed at me throughout this conversation and threatened to not deliver here again over a LARGE DUCK SAUCE. He then said he would give it to me but WE had to go pick it up or they would charge us another delivery fee to bring it back to the house. Long story short I will never be ordering from them again. Never going to reccomend this place to anyone again.

Been coming here for 15 years but the prices just keep going up and up and your not telling your customers.This is not okay!!

Waited over an hour for my food to get to me. When I called for an update. 45 mins in I was told my food was on the way Bye(((RUDE))) So I called Pizza hut they were here in 20 mins.
