ZACHYS IS A SCAM COMPANY SELLING JUNK WINE. I ordered $650 in wine, and opted for local delivery as we are in NYC. After the order had not shipped in a week, I messaged them to look into the shipment because I was concerned about a heat wave that was coming. They never responded. Instead, they put it on a truck in the middle of a heat wave, and all of the wine showed up cooked. All of the corks are popped up. The wine is ruined, it tastes terrible, and is now all in my recycling bin. It is not clear to me that the wine was not already bad before it was even shipped. I understand now that they buy discounted bottles from various vendors that are likely not stored correctly. This is why it takes them so long to process orders, as they dont really have the wine in stock. They have accepted zero responsibility over this, and when I asked why they never responded to my concern about the shipment, they shrugged their shoulders. I have never encountered this level of customer service from a wine distributor. They really are nothing more than a scam company selling junk wine.

We ordered some fairly expensive wine (+$1500 for 6 bottles) and it took very long to ship. 3 of the 6 bottles showed up spoiled and tasted like vinegar. We reached out to Zachys an the responses we received were terrible. They claimed if we read their website that the taste profile of the wine was not their responsibility, and that any claims made on their site about the taste were subjective. We tried to have a reasonable conversation with them and explained that this was not a taste profile issue, but an issue of wine that was actually bad, it arrived with saturated corks. We sent them photos. They offered up nothing, other than they were sorry. Very terrible experience and will never purchase again. We are out $750 and our only option now is disputing through our credit card or going to small claims court. Reading some of the past reviews, it would not surprise me if a class-action lawsuit is brewing against these crooks.

Bait and switch on American Express offer: Was excited to take advantage of Spend $150 Get $30 Back and placed online order well before offer expiration date. Zachys sent order confirmation right away and then did not process payment with Amex until AFTER offer expired. I’ve read other similar complaints on Reddit - Buyer beware!

While the staff at the Scarsdale is second to none, Zachys ability to handle online orders is very, very, very poor.I placed an order ~6 days ago, as the result of an email I received from Zachys titled Worried About Gifts Arriving on Time? I received a confirmation but had not heard anything from them regarding shipping or tracking.information. My email to their customer service department went unanswered. When I called their service department I was informed that for some unknown reason the order was hung up in their internal system and was sitting in the system. I was not told why it was sitting in the system, just that it wasI realize that it is Christmas season but it should not take a week for an online order to be processed and give me an approximate delivery date. Which I do not believe is unreasonable especially if you claim to be able to handle orders online.In fairness they did generate an order number and were able to verify my credit card information, unfortunately nothing else

Only order from this store if you like waiting weeks to receive your order. Requested on Nov 16 my stored wine to be shipped on the 20th....still waiting. Two weeks later and they still havent been able to put a label on a box. And that was after it took 7 days to process the initial order.

Do not order from Zachys online. They show plenty of wines as being In Stock but are actually not available. You dont find out until you received the shorted shipment and then all they say is sorry. Terrible communication and customer service and even worse inventory. Take your online business somewhere else. There are lots of online options that have better inventory and prices.

This review is not about being at zachys its about their online ordering team!!! i cannot believe the store allows themselves to admit they are affiliated with Zachys online site. ive had an on going nightmare with the online site for 2 months. when zachys did their online site conversion and closed the store for a few days back in september i purchased wine online ultimately the online site was not able to fill the order due to some sort of conversion problems so i was told to go into the store re-purchase the same wines and send a photo of the receipt to Francisco and he would reimburse me the difference because for some reason evidently the Scarsdale Zachys Store could not honor their prices on their site, hmmmm? thats weird?? and Franciso had to do it on his end. Needless to say it is November 6th, 2020 at this point, 2 months in the making several calls to Francisco and dealing with 4 other representatives my situation has not been resolved!!! Thank you Zachys and shame on me for re-ordering and purchasing more wine from Zachys online team over the past 1o days where i was told by that rep the refund amount due to me would be taken off this new order, ahhhhh that didnt happen. Thatll be my last purchase from Zachys contacting my credit card company at this point. Yah maybe go into the store but shame on them even for ignoring their own SITE and not being able to match the price nor even listen to ones concerns!! RYE BROOK WINE & SPIRITS IS THE WAY TO GO!!!!

This place is an institution. I went during their weekly Saturday wine tastings and was surprised by the breadth and knowledge of the staff. It is like an army of sommeliers. Woody Allen should use this place as a set.

I purchased 12 bottles of bourbon from Zachys, pappy van Winkle, Whistlepig, etc. Thousands of dollars in product. I live out of state and arranged pick up. After assuring me that the order was complete, they failed to give the full order to the driver. I requested a full refund plus compensation for the travel... They assured me that they would make it right. Nearly one month later, no refund, no emails, no phone calls, no bourbon.Be wary.

I have ordered from Zachys numerous times. They are very reliable, and have an extensive selection of alcohol and wine. I am shocked at some of the negative reviews I just read. Their regular prices are in line with other retailers, and they often have great sales. Sales staff in the store are helpful and knowledgeable. I dont understand all the negativity in some other reviews.

Best wine shop in New York maybe even the World. The store has wine from all over the world. The staff is great. They know their stuff. If you ask for a recommendation they are usually spot on. The store also sells liquor from all over the world, eg. Taiwanese Whiskey, French Champagne.

I was a customer when I lived in NY but have not been there or purchased from them in many years since I moved across the country. Today however; I realized that I had forgotten that it was my fathers birthday and called to see if they could deliver a bottle of wine to my parents house. Not only were they able to get it delivered last minute but the gentleman I spoke with gave me several low priced selections that they could run over which allowed me to send more to my dad than I had anticipated. No delivery fee and only $3.00 for giftwrapping. I will absolutely do this again!! The place right up the road from my parents had a $75 minimum on delivery and Zachys had none. They truly have retained this customer for life.
