I just recently moved to Schenectady and had just purchased a bike (not from New York Bicycle Company). I had a wonderful experience with Matt. He was pleasant honest quick and informative. Plus he did not overcharge me for things the bike didnt need. I was so pleased with his customer service that after I left the bike shop I returned very quickly to buy a lock. Matt is awesome. If you need someone to maintain or fix your bike and youre near Schenectady you need to check him out. Plus hes cute too. :-)

Took our 2 bikes in to be serviced today. Just like last year, the staff were eager to take a look and evaluate. Great customer service! And theyve debuted a new bike line. Check them out! I highly recommend this bike shop!

Broke a chain on our antique tandem while cycling the Erie Canal Towpath. We were hauling a trailer and had to push it to the shop. (We got bad advice in town about which shop was closer and the other one has a mobile service van, but those jerks couldnt even give us directions from downtown). The repair at NY took the young man mere minutes and we tested it out right there. He tanked up our water bottles and offered to check anything else we needed. Great service.

I have been a customer of the of the Plaine family my entire life. Matt Plaine at New York Bicycle Co is a great guy who always takes care of his customers, and is never trying to sell you something that you do not need. I would highly recommend this bicycle shop to anyone. You can look all you want, but you will never find better customer service.

Great selection and service. Except the one day I showed up to find a note on the door saying they were out for a bathroom break and I waited over an hour before realizing they were taking a never-ending poo and left.
