RUDE & INNAPROPRIATE chef DONAThis review is based on my experience with the teacher, Dona, and is not meant to rate Sur la Table or the assistants in the class. The teacher was unbelievably disheveled, unorganized, blatantly disrespectful to her assistants and students in the class. She did not welcome or answer questions. She would shame students for not following her instructions and take over in a belittling manner. She would also openly gasp at her assistants for not preforming to her standards and shame them as well, in front of the class. She was a very inhumane person. All of the students at my table discussed this and were in agreement. We stayed only because we were working in teams of students, all who were lovely. Its unbelievable that this chef is employed and I cannot believe her assistants can work in such inhumane conditions. This was a terrible experience.

Nicely curated shop to get all types of kitchen gadgets. Some of the items can be very expensive. They offer cooking classes on site which is a plus. Customer service is very good. Worth a visit to see the latest kitchen gadgets.

Love, LOVE doing the cooking classes at Sur la Table! When I go shopping there some kitchen items I have the clueless idea how to use them properly. Well, at these classes you learn from chefs and how to work with kitchen items like a pro! From 3 course meals, desserts, bring your own wine nights, ideal date time with best friends or god daughter! It’s a blast! Bonus, buy your items and kitchen equipment as you get a 20% discount that day or evening! Makes a great gift for couples or just for those you want to spend time with. You learn a lot about people sharing in the kitchen!

Nice selection of kitchen gadgets, utensils, and small appliances.Yes, the prices are higher than buying a spatula at Walmart, but the quality and selection make up the difference.

What a fun experience! This was my first time taking a cooking class and the food was delicious! We did steak, potato gnocchi, arugula salad, and mint chocolate chip gelato and they were all things I would definitely make again! The only downside is the price of the cooking class, but other than that, it is a fun time!

This store didnt have the items I was looking for, but the associates were incredibly helpful. Location seems to focus on a lot of the larger cookware items. Small accessories are scattered throughout. Great coffee/espresso section as well!

I had booked an in-person cooking class weeks in advance as a surprise for my Wifes Birthday. A couple of hours before the class was supposed to start I received a call from an incredibly rude employee at Sur La Table. She mentioned that the class was canceled because the chef had to deal with some personal things. She did not apologize, she did not offer alternatives, she did not mention that I would get a refund. This was a terrible experience. I HIGHLY recommend going to a competitor for your cooking classes, this is pure incompetence.

Every time I go in, someone is waiting to help me get the tool I need. Sometimes it isn’t the thing I went in for. The knowledge base in this store is amazing. From the right utensil to techniques to get best results. This place is a must for people who love to cook and learn to cook.

Fun cooking class but not impressed with the quality of the ingredients that were provided to us, meat was tough & cocktail onions were not a good substitute for pearl onions

Quality cooking equipment. Their items arent always cheap, but they are good. They also have excellent cooking classes here! While the classes are a bit pricey, they are fun and engaging with a wide variety to choose from. They focus on teaching skills and techniques, not just recipes, though we were still given the recipes to take home at the end too which was great. The food we made together was amazing as well! Overall, I love this store.

Great place for harder-to-find cooking gadgets, but the classes are glorified infomercials. Their goal is to get you to buy stuff, not teach you how to cook. Better to go in knowing what you want and having done your research. I wouldnt rely on the staff to steer you in the right direction.

I thought the products were good! However, I had a horrible experience with the staff. I have heard so much great things about this place, I wanted to check it out. My wife and I entered the retail store and no one greeted us, but greeted other people that walked in right behind us. When we were shopping the retail sales individuals were following us around the store, trying to be discrete. Then as we approached the check out counter, you can tell from the cashiers demeanor that she was uncomfortable checking us out because we were black and lesbian. She began checking us out and asked if we had a rewards membership. I then told her we didnt and she quickly began to scan our items. I then asked her about the membership and that I wanted to sign up. She rushed to take down my information even though no one else was in line. I gave her $100 cash for at $40+ purchase. She then said she will be back as she stated she didnt have change, which I didnt believe one bit. It felt as if she was checking our $100 to make sure it was real. I cant believe after all the good things I heard about the cooking classes and the store that we had such an awful experience. I will be surprised if we ever visit that store again!

Best store for anything in the kitchen. Amazing cutlery selection as well as kitchen appliances, and high end espresso super automatics. Everything here is amazing except the pricing on basic items which they commonly have marked between $10-$25, yet can be purchased on Amazon for $5-$10

The stuff here is a bit too expensive for me, but they have some legit coffee and espresso makers. Also, they offer free samples, which is nice. I will say the staff is very friendly. I always see people walking around Kierland Commons carrying bags from here, so it is quite popular.

Ive been dying to take some cooking classes and a friend sent me the link to Sur la Tables schedule. Despite the fact that my first class wasnt all that hands on, I learned some amazing shortcuts and tricks that will be invaluable in all of my cooking. I had an amazing time, it was lighthearted, we laughed, learned, and most of all, our instructor was amazing. My class was for the holidays so it was a bit more expensive than the other classes. The one thing that would be nice considering what I spent on that class and really am not supposed to eat most of what we cooked would be if they offered to let us take a plate of the leftovers because there were a lot and with 8 people, I think they could have afforded to spare a little extra food for those who paid for it. Thats the one and only suggestion I have for this class.

I attended a class on macarons with Chef Natascha 2 days ago. Disappointing experience, I most likely will not take any cooking class with Sur la Table in future. The instructor seemed very rushed, was at times rude in calling me out (happened twice) when the entire class was laughing awkwardly at cliched jokes the instructor was cracking. I have taken cooking classes elsewhere and definitely know what a great class is like. There was no feedback survey/form. The website said the class will work in groups of four while in reality, we were split in 2 large groups. Thats not true hands on. Unprofessional staff as well, the class did not start quite on time because the store people were still getting ready - no time to settle in. We were left to entertain ourselves in 111 deg F - store was not open when we showed up, there were a gazillion trash bags greeting us at the entrance. Not welcoming. Overall content of the class is of poor quality. Thank you.

This is the go to kitchen supply place for North Scottsdale if they don’t have what you’re looking for it probably doesn’t exist- Bobby Flay even did a book signing at this location! They also added a Nespresso bar where you can sample any of the Nespresso blends and machines before you buy. I lose time in this place with all the gadgets and cooking tools available if your in the cooking industry don’t forget to ask about the discount
