The store is clean, neat, well stocked and a great selection of sale items. I spent a lovely hour browsing the books and gift items. I then took a rest break at the Starbucks inside. All the employees were friendly and polite.
I’m giving this ‘once upon a time’ bookstore destination four stars and not five, because quite honestly they have no staff. This is understandable because of the work and labor crisis in the country, but it is challenging when you are wanting to actually support businesses that still sell books and not give the money to Amazon. That said, we’ve always been a big fan of Barnes & Noble because they have one of the best children’s sections, and they also have plenty of toys and activities which giving the shipping crisis is going to be a great place to go for Christmas gifts this year.
Now this is a place to find the best book to read. The service was so awesome, so happy, that I felt very comfortable being there.
We had an hour to kill between doctor appointments so we landed here--what a great choice! The chairs were all distanced, the staff and patrons were wearing masks, and we found greeting cards we needed, plus gifts for 2 children and two books we love (mine only $3.00!) It was pleasant, productive and felt COVID safe. THANK YOU FOR HOLDING ON BARNES & NOBLE!!
First time in this store. Shopped around and loved the variety of gifts and toys available
Fantastic selection. Wonderful friendly staff.Very clean store.
This place has it own section of DVD movies. Pretty big section. Its just a place for books and coffee. It all in one it COOL u got to check it out. If so, cool....
Was very peaceful and relaxing to just kick back enjoy your favorite read or two and enjoy a snack or two and a coffee what more could you ask for,
Super helpful! Friendly... And very organized, clean store. I bought a membership after a wonderful sales pitch. I couldnt say no! 😂
A great large store, similar to their others in metro Phoenix, its perhaps the last excellent bookstore of a national chain to survive after the closures of B. Dalton in 2013 and Borders & Waldenbooks in 2011. While the omnipotent ogre Amazon continues its rampage on every industry and everything brick & mortar, these stores stick it out by offering a browsing experience second to none. Certainly much better than looking at endless lists or incomplete descriptions online without the ability to touch before you buy. Beyond their large book sections, they have a vast magazines/periodicals section, games, music, a respectable closeout section & much more. While their prices may be a few dollars higher than Amazon on some items, its nice to support a local mega-store in its own right with great customer service, without needing to wait for delivery - even with Prime next day sometimes available. The only thing that could make this experience better would be to have the store open 24/7. And the Starbucks inside is a nice plus too.
I like my books with pages and you dont have to charge them either. B&N is a great place to browse and to sit and read.
Great job helping me out with finding the last Deadpool dinosaur Funko pop to complete my kids collection😊
One of the last bastions of great bookstores! Aisles and aisles of everything you could want or need to read. They always have a HUGE selection of up to date magazines, and books. Very clean, friendly, helpful staff. I do miss the old days, when there were soft chairs to peruse your favorite book before buying, but its still a wonderful place for any book lover. They also have an in store Starbucks if you need refreshment too! Love this place!
Great selection of books & many games. Brought books for my grandchildren, my friend & myself. Nice area and space for kids to explore books and a nice sitting area at the Starbucks inside the store. Good prices, lots on sale.
The staff at this location was helpful and attentive to our shopping experience. It was a little hot, but better than the 115° outside that afternoon.
The ladies who work here go above and beyond to help you find something. Nice and quiet.
It was actually pretty good. Everything is well stocked and labeled. Alot to choose from. I recommend anyone to go😁
A place for the whole family, from the smallest. very friendly people with a good attitude at all times
The shelves are stocked and the staff was super friendly
I had the pleasure of having a very sweet lady by the name of Phyllis P. help me. I bought about seven books and needed assistance with bags and tissue for each book as they were gifts. I needed to find the right size for each book. She went out of her way help me and was kind, patient, thoughtful and professional. I truly hope she gets the acknowledgement she deserves for all her hard work. I will continue to look for her whenever I return! Thanks again so very much, Phyllis! Youre awesome!
Will visit this place again. Extremely large location. Variety of items to choose from. Wheelchair accessible. Restrooms avaliable for customers. Friendly staff, clean, organized, and kept. Updated items.
I love this place! Still my favorite bookstore
Math and Science section too miniscule. Too bad, because otherwise theres a decent selection, and atmosphere is soothing. Café is way too expensive.
Great book selection, lousy management.a few years ago i noticed adult themed books on lower shelves, i brought my concerns to management as perhaps this content would be easily accessible to small children, i was offered an excuse and told it was out of their hands. not sure if this is still setup the same, in the few interactions ive have with management here they seem to be lacking
Very friendly staff and well stocked.
Lovely layout, the bathroom sign is a bit odd... Please wait here. That was the only downrating I can give. Everything and everyone else was wonderful.
No place to sit to check out products, or read. The cafe if you buy something is available but only if you pay. I like the one in my area better.
Do NOT go to the Starbucks cafe in here. I ordered a mocha and whatever I got was not that. Very watered down, tasted horrible and not like Starbucks at all. Im disappointed I spent $5 on it.
I could only remember a partial TITLE to a book which a friend recommended. I walked in, gave what little info I could remember, and BAM, the guy walked me over directly to the area, and handed me EXACTLY what I was searching for....all in less than 3 minutes of walking in. That is UN HEARD OF these days. And, only $21 dollars.... Great knowledgeable friendly customer service!! Kudos to SHEA & LOOP 101 Barnes & Noble.(9-14-2020 @ around 3 pm).the salesman deserves recognition for sure!!
Beautiful book storeHelpfulOne problem, always seem to have to order book Im looking for!
I like BARNES & NOBLE alot. This time I had a unusual request unfortunately they couldnt help so I was referred to HOME DEPOT.
Enjoyed the quiche at the Cafe. Very tasty.
Best book store south of Shea.
Everything about the selection and service is great. My only complaint is that there arent enough places to sit down.
I hate the new layout that they put into effect. It doesnt make any sense and it makes everything twice as hard to find.
I always find what Im looking for and usually find something that I wasnt even looking for.
Barnes & Noble is always a wonderful place to visit. So happy it was a busy day and so many things to look at.
They would have gotten five stars, but there seem to be a lot of dead ends in the store. We had to keep turning around to try to find a way to get to the other side of the store. Book selection was good!
Everyone was very helpful and encouraging. I bought my grandkids some books that one of the employees recommend. I def will refer my friends and family ✨💯
Another great store of one of the greatest chains in history. Smaller but still excellent. Low star reviews are ridiculous and hacks. Even if they dont have the books you want in stock, theyll ship it directly to you.
It was great to see this bookstore open again
Always a great staff, Super Book Sale right now! Support our only B&N in the area! Read a book, magazine. Audio books, etc.
Great store, so nice to be able to browse through
Always welcome. This is a 9 friendly store, the people are friendly and efficient. The books are easy to find.
Aisles are large enough to promote social distancing, easy to maneuver around store for wheelchair bound customers. Hand sanitizer readily available. Employees were extremely helpful and courteous.
Always love B&N. Massive selection, warm environment. My kids love it. Its a regular place to hang out and read, have coffee and let the kids wander. Great location. Easy to get in and out. Lots of parking..
Love browsing at Barnes & Noble and having a coffee and good pastry
I love going into a book store and just roaming around and looking. Plus the store has board games and other interesting things.
Very nice store and a great selection of books and games. Its a nice, relaxing way to spend time.
The staff was very helpful, courteous and knowledgeable.
Awesome curb side service if you purchase an online book. Flawless!
This is the ultimate bookstore and more! Whenever I come down to the valley from Payson, I always make room for this special stop. Time goes by so fast when I find a book from a wide variety of subjects. I love to get something tasty to eat and drink or just sit in a quiet area and just read. Its always clean and well organized. Take a little time out of your busy day and come to Barnes and Noble to unwind with a good book. This place just makes my day! 🤗
I love bookstores, and wandering along the shelves can lead to unexpected treasures. B & N has done a good job of integrating the online services with the bricks and mortar stores. I wish the shelf subjects were better marked or that the store had a couple of directories posted, so when I am looking for something more specific it would be easier to find
When youre tired of your Kindle.
Great selection of books and friendly staff.
If you ever need help, they are always 💯 accommodating!
Who knew they had such an inventory of childrens learning toys! I was looking for a gift for a one year old. Spent 2 hours reading and testing out options. This was so much more fun than online shopping! I highly recommend the Barnes and Noble experience!
One of my favourite stores.Happy New Year
They didnt have the book that my son needed and didnt offer us free shipping... He went up getting it on Amazon.
Nice staff and had exactly what I was looking for!!
Just called this at 5:45 pm. they close at 6 pm due to Covid19. I called this location and asked about a magazine. I was told they did not carry Said magazine. I advised the rep that I purchased this very magazine a month or two ago, so they did carry. The rep then told me that I was right, but they have not had it since June. I said well, do you have- and as I went to ask if he knew which date the new bi-monthly copy would be in stores he hung up on me. I called back, spoke to a woman, who was rude and refused to give me the managers name, and the name of the rep who was uber rude and hung up on me. Ive been a customer for many years, and its awful to know that during a pandemic, a mag/book sore that is already holding on for dear life to stay alive employees rude people who couldnt care less about customer service. When I told her that I wanted to know the name of the manager, she hung up on me. I called back 6x to no avail, its clear they have caller I.d. I then get a call from the store and when I say hello, expecting an apology or someone to advise that the line accidentally dropped, I get hung up on again. I will be filing a complaint via their corporate website, and I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB. Misinformation, poor customer service, and then calling customers back and hanging the phone up on them? I dont appreciate it and its not appropriate.
Helpful staff. Love the pops sale but sad they seem to no longer be selling them
They didnt have any of the books I needed for my bookclub. The store clerk ordered the copies I needed and had them ready for me within 2 days. Right on time and saved the day.
Helpful staff. Held book for me when I called. Masks were worn. Quick and easy!
I great place to find a books. Where you can walk in and look at different kinds of books, instead of looking online. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Good as I remember any Barnes and Nobles to be; however there are no outlets to charge cell phones, tablets or laptops in the cafe area. Outlets are only to the very front of the store and hopefully it’s not occupied... need more seating and cushioned chairs close to power sources would be a nice addition.
I love shopping here they have everything that anyone wants plus more
I can usually find what I am looking for during my visit. Especially new releases. If it is an older book, they can easily order it and get it sent. The membership is awesome as well. Even my daughter loves finding new books and listening to story time for the kids! Im a huge fan of Barnes & Noble, and I will always be a loyal member.
Courteous and uninformed staff
A worker here with blue or purple hair was very rude to my 6yr old daughters and I. I told the supervisor who seemed to not care and they also seemed a bit racist. We were going to spend a couple hundred there as that is our usual because we have a big family and we each get 1-2 items.
I hope this place stays open for a very long long time. There arent a whole lot of books stores in scottsdale.
So clean and organized. They had sooo many awesome goodies to look at other then books. I had to stop myself from going over board ha. Nice employees, check out was quick and easy.
Great books...great adventures!
Quiet with a very nice selection.
Every one was so happy to see me there which frighten me a bit besides that very nice experience
Best stocked chain bookstore Ive seen in a while
Great place.just ask and you will find what you need
I love the fact that they have a lounge where you can read in peace and drink your coffee. The Starbucks inside is awesome. They have a great selection of coffee products. The ambience is excellent!
Great selection and everything was easy to find! I had been looking unsuccessfully for several selections at specialty stores across the valley and found all of them here! High prices, but worth it if they have what I want.
Looking forward to the re-opening of the seating area in the coffee shop. Employees, as usual, very helpful.
Enjoyed the Starbucks inside, I was able to shop while drinking my coffee and the employees were very helpful!!
Visiting the city and wanted to stop by a Barnes and Noble and I got to say I was not disappointed. Had a wide variety of books including a big children section, a huge music section and friendly staff. And clean restrooms, the best of all. Would definitely come back if I ever came back to the city. 👍
I totally understand that online shopping is changing how brick and mortar businesses run but, without fail, the books/items I’m looking for are not in store. I always ask for what I’m looking for if I cannot find it and the response is always “not in store but we can order it for you”. I can do that and probably get it cheaper and faster!!Most recently I went in to find maps (paper) of Wisconsin, Minnesota, north and South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Washington and Oregon. I left with only 1 of them. I also wanted a travel guide of Washington state of which there was only 2 to choose from.Maybe consider a little less toys and music and bring back the books! I miss browsing the store and often bought books I never would have considered had I not seen it, picked it up, and read the covers. Now, I often leave empty handed and disappointed!Otherwise, the store is fine, nothing special.
Walked in for the first time ever and wow it was a big place. Lots of books and generous, welcoming coffee bar. Also next door to a very large Frys Signature Market.
The store hours surprises me at how much traffic they get. even though there are always a lot of people in the store I have never had to wait to check out or to get any help finding a book that I was looking for. There was also a Starbucks inside which is nice.
Store was winding down for the day and besides the announcement every so often a clerk took it upon herself to reiterate the point to me 3 times. I set down roughly 310.00 in merchandise and left the store with 5 mins to spare.
I really like looking around in Barnes and Noble. The books of course, but also the small, original gifts, journals, stationary, book accessories, like book lamps, cards and calendars. Have a good selection of books. I just find book prices so high anymore, its discouraging. You can buy a cup of coffee here and a piece of cheesecake.
Clean, quiet and well organized. One of the few locations with a remaining music and DVD section. They have a great selection of collectibles and vinyl records and board games. The cafe is quick and has a reliable quality of service.
A very nice store. Very helpful
This B&N has an excellent selection of books and magazines. The staff is courteous an knowledgeable and will help you find what you need or if you just want to be left alone they wont chase you around. The coffee shop inside gives this large storefront a cozy and intimate atmosphere. I still shop brick and mortar stores whenever possible. Its still good to be able to get the feel for an item before purchasing it.
