Reading all the positive reviews of this business kind of makes one suspicious. Can it be true? Anyway we gave Raj (the owner) a call. Locating a business that not only is familiar with Oriental Rugs like this (where made, design, content etc..etc) knowing how to properly clean (and make needed repairs) is of particular importance. Our experience could not have been finer! Raj personally visited our home, carefully examined our precious rugs and gave us an estimate.Today, as we look at the completed job we couldnt be more pleased. In fact, we forgot how beautiful they are after they were cleaned.There is no question. If you are looking for a business that is honest and fair and knows Oriental Rugs, look no further!

I went in for an appraisal of a rug that’s been in my family for years, and the owner knew exactly what kind of rug it was when I opened my car door. The owner is very sweet and super knowledgeable, and it’s so nice to see someone so passionate about their work! He had beautiful rugs from all over the world and gave amazing advice on the appraisal and selling my rug. He knows his history, loves his work and it was a great experience!

Raj knows his stuff! I walked in to the store with a rolled up rug, and he instantly knew what it was and where it was from. He shared a lot of valuable information with me as he gave me an appraisal.

My handmade wool Chinese rug was cleaned by another company that professed to clean oriental rugs. It appears that they used a bleachor harsh chemical on the fringe which has caused it to break off. I called Oriental Rugs of Scottsdale and spoke with Raj. He explained everything to me. And then offered to come look at the rug. After discussing the repair options, Raj took the rug to clean it appropriately. After the cleaning, I werent to his store to pick a new fringe.He hand sewed on the new fringe and returned it to me within a week.The rug is absolutely beautiful. Its very hard to tell that the fringe is not original.Raj is very knowledgeable about handmade wool rugs. I will be using him in the future to clean and care for this and our other handmade wool rugs.

Although the rugs we hoped to sell were not within the parameters for this shop to purchase them, the owner was most helpful, apprising us of the origin of the rugs and giving us advice on how to sell and list said rugs. We appreciate his helpfulness and kindness.

Super helpful! I brought in an expensive kashmiri rug to be cleaned and to get a quote on its worth. The cleaning wasnt super expensive and he did a fantastic job. It only took a week or so for the cleaning. Also while I was there I looked at his rug selection and he has some absolutely stunning rugs.

A year ago, I bought an Oriental runner at a favorite antique store. I knew it was too long for the space but loved the hues. My sister had told me of a place in Scottsdale where she had had a favorite Oriental rug cut and re-fringed when she down-sized her living space. This place is great. I recently bought three vintage rugs at an auction without much knowledge on them. As soon as I walked in the door Roj was very helpful. He had so much info about my rugs and was happy to help educate me. His prices are extremely fair and I will go back for my yearly cleanings for sure.

I needed five oriental rugs cleaned as well as an estimate of their value for insurance purposes. Raj was very friendly and knowledgeable about the quality and origins of the rugs. He was prompt in picking up and delivering the rugs and I felt very comfortable with his professionalism.

I would not use this company. Who ever drives a van for this company is a crazy driver. Driving up Scottsdale road not only did the guy cut me off a lady with children in her van. During construction as well. And ran the red light at Happy Valley Road. Never once slowed down for anything.

Oriental Rugs of Scottsdale recently cleaned my 24 wool German-made runner and it turned out well, soft and the colors bright. Extremely nice store clerk and the owner was friendly and professional. Their small store has a surprisingly large selection of beautiful rugs, the next rug I purchase will come from there.

Called to see about getting a rug cleaned and we have found a great place for information, cleaning and future rugs. Roj told us where our rug was made, that it is handmade and will last forever. He did a great job cleaning and moth proofing at a very reasonable price. We enjoyed talking to him about the rugs he has in his shop.

Our rug is not the same after having Oriental Rugs of Scottsdale clean it. It doesnt lay flat anymore and one side is stained. When we first picked up the rug and brought it home it had an awful odor requiring it to be cleaned again. Either something happened to our rug in their custody or like others have suggested they dont have the proper equipment to clean Persian rugs. Words can not describe how sad we are about the condition of our prized rug. A warning to others- BRING YOUR RUG SOMEWHERE ELSE.

This place destroyed our $6000 rug. Do not take an expensive rug there for cleaning. he washed it on the sidewalk with soap and water and all the colors of the rug got mixed up. Not going back there again.

My Persian rug was declared unsalvage from flood insurance company. roj said he could fix the red dye which bled into the white and other colors. He did, it looked good.

We have a 100 year old Caucasian rug which we bought many years ago. We had never cleaned it and our puppy had chewed a hole in one corner. We took the rug to Roj. He gave us good advice-- telling us that reweaving the hole was not economical--we could purchase 2 comparable rugs for the cost of reweaving. He did find a way to patch it with pieces of other rugs, cleaned it, redid the binding on the edges and touched up some spots where the dye had faded. I would be lying if I said it looked like a new rug, after all it is an old one, but Roj did a great job at a very reasonable price. I recommend Oriental Rugs of Scottsdale most highly.

Oriental Rugs of Scottsdale ruined my rug. Go to the business ask for a demonstartion. I wish I had checked Google and not just YELP. I shouldve known when he insisted on a check. The second you question him hes rude and combative. Saying, your rug was dirty. Laughing at a request for reimbursement. He tried to collect $1073 and when I questioned him, said, its an honest mistake. Upon further review of my invoice he still overcharged me 104.00 There is NOTHING honest about this situation.

Oriental Rugs of Scottsdale does not have the expertise or the proper equipment to clean Oriental hand knotted Rugs. They use a very stiff rotory brush that was designed to clean concrete. Ask to see the brush they use. Also the reviewer Maryam A. is the proprietors wife.

Mr. Azari does not have the knowledge to properly clean handmade rugs. Ask him to show the type of brush he uses.
