My compliments to the woman Sushi chef. She is an absolute artist making sushi. She is always courteous and makes eye contact and says hello with a smile when she greets you. Someone needs to appoint her as the HR rep for Safeway. Some of the other employees could use a refresher course in common courtesy and manners.

More stocked and staff more friendly than Safeways in California.

Always a kind employee or customer and never a bad experience here. I am always greeted with a smile. A ten. Superb. There is not enough space here for how I feel about the Safeway here in Scottsdale on Shae Blvd and Scottsdale Rd. Two thumbs up!

We had not been to this Safeway until Sunday. It is a well laid out facility, clean and friendly with plenty of service personnel to serve you. Did I mention Greg the Beer Sommelier! So knowledgeable and friendly. Actually, the Safeway service station was what attracted us into the store. Gas pricing here isnt like the Safeway in Fountain Hills where the gas, even with your discount, is higher than some stations within just a few miles.

Great bagels for the conversation and they said they were supposed too but they were not able it is catylic but we will have no time and give it back...the lady had nice hair...good ham.from the deli...

The temperature at this location is very cold. I found all groceries but had to hurry, due to fact my fingers were becoming frost bit. Im just saying!

OK Safeway store. Not the biggest, but nice enough as it is in Scottsdale. Certainly above average, but smaller than a new build one would be. It is clean, and selection is decent, and so is the seafood counter. You pay Safeway prices though, so unless it is on sale, it you have a good coupon it is too much. Still this will be a convenient location for many. It has a gas station, Syarbucks, tiny credit union, and decent enough bakery.

The pre-made salads by the deli/sushi area are always frozen. I come here multiple times a week on my lunch break cuz my works so close and it’s a bummer that the one thing I want and can eat quickly in a short amount of time is almost always frozen (lettuce and ingredients are icy and soggy.) I could find something else or go somewhere different but this is the most convenient and I am paying for it so I really wish you guys would just figure out the right temperature so this doesn’t happen every single time.

I watched an employee (long haired younger guy) collecting carts from the parking lot and walked right in front of several cars almost causing a crash and he didnt even look over his shoulder to see what he caused. Just kept dragging his feet as he reminded in the way of customers.

Associate who is in charge helping people at the Self-Checkout area is rude and abusive. And this is happening to me third time during last month.Instead of being nice and helpful, he is rudely commanding you. When I complained about malfunctioning equipment his reaction was: dont go here, and dont use this self checkout area, go to the cashier, and something about I dont want to see your face here again. Never had such experience before in my life.

Staff are very courteous, kind and very caring and go out of their way when helping a person that is wheelchair bound. People that are in wheelchairs are very highly respected in the store. They make sure that people that are handicapped have handicap accessible aisles everything is nice and tidy. The only recommendation that I have is that the staff should not overstep their bounds when helping handicap individuals. Always make sure that you ask before helping. Some people do not like it when we are asked multiple times by an individual if they can help or just go on and assume that the person needs help.

Mary is the most awesome baker out there. She’s the reason I come to Safeway!!!! Her cakes are both delicious and beautiful — every time. Thank you!

Everything I need and I appreciate the provided scooter as I have mobility issues and the offer of help out to my vehicle from the cashier and bagger. I was fine on my own but you never know on another day!!!

Not much that has not been said about a Safeway. They just try to jack you on the coupons - curse you Safeway.

Fantastic store. The cashier Brayan (I think I spelled it right) was extremely helpful. He even asked me how I was doing and gave me life advice! Such a nice young man. Safeway should hire more like him.

Been coming to this location for 6 months. Josh is a exceptional employee. He truly goes above and beyond. He is friendly and a hard worker. And also has a smile on his face.

I visit this Safeway often as it is close to where I live. I usually buy Vegetables, Cheese, Milk, Eggs, Butter, Ice Cream and Ice. Everyone is very nice.

Got everything I wanted, was missing one item (artichoke hearts), had a guy help me find them, and he would not give up. I was impressed (found them, up on top shelf)

Love their meat prices.

Typical Safeway, nice and clean with a good selection of most groceries, has a nice fresh bakery, has a nice large beer and wine, and hard alcohol selection. Meat and seafood department looked nice and fresh. Prices seemed competitive. Cheaper if you use their club card.

Older store but had what I wanted

The store is clean, they have closed one of the entrance / exit doors with no signs, so staff just tell at you that the door is closed. The shelves are not fully stocked so they didnt have everything I needed, the self check-out was not functioning properly and a staff member had to come over 3 times, and I had less than 10 items.

Very nice grocery store, well stocked and customer service was great!

When I came in the systems actually shut down and people became insane jerks. The staff handled it to the best of their abilities. A special shout out to Max, Bobbie, and Chris who I heard some karens say nasty words to. Other than that predicament the store is well organized and easy to walk around.

Sometimes the lines can be a little long when checking out but for the most part this grocery store is good. Everything is stocked and they have great deals in their app.

Great deli, pastries, and good variety in the floral section. The store is very clean, the produce section is immaculate. Staff is available if you need assistance. The isles are easy to manuver throughout the store.

Your aisles are clear, clean and unobstructed...unlike Frys and Bashas.

Meat is not fresh.

Lots of parking. Friendly, helpful employees. New checkout lines are opened when they feel there are too many people waiting in a line. They seem to be well prepared with items in stock when special low sale prices are offered on certain items. If they run out of a special sale item, rainchecks can be obtained from a cashier or at the customer service counter.

Iced pumpkin latte was cold and refreshing. Nice touch of crumbs on top

Prices are good great deals on food some specials and is always fresh French bread I love it

Walked in with a riped mask wasnt able to put it around the ear 😷 since the big stores usualy have some extra masks I decided to ask for one instead of walking around with no mask to respect the people around me and guess what every one !!!! they are hustling people money for a shity mask “one dollar “ a piece how sad and disappointing

Nice Store but no pharmacy

Worked here. The store was very clean. Im not saying this because I worked here, but I was really impressed with the cleanliness, store setup and the decor. The staff were nice too. Corey in produce was great

This is an OK store but they never seem to have any of the sale items (they missed 4 out 5 on todays trip). It is the closest location to me but the Safeway at Tatum & Greenway seems to be able to maintain stock better than this location. Maybe since this is a smaller store they cant stock as much or perhaps they are just poor at inventory management. Although it is about 8 miles farther I head to the Tatum & Greenway location. This location is acceptable for quick trips only....at least for me.

The staff is always very friendly and helpful store is clean and inviting and they have just about everything you want stocked. A pleasant shopping experience.

The grocery store is always sanitized and clean, but I shop online and curbside pickup.

Extremely rude- particularly Sandy in the floral department and Joe the manager. I asked them to grab two bouquets of roses and put them in a clear vase with water- no cutting or trimming needed.The flowers were wrapped in their paper with no water in the vase- presentation was pathetic.I called to complain and they told me they would have to charge $90 per bouquet to take the wrapping off and add water!!! Ridiculous and embarrassing presentation. This is just pure laziness!

This is the perfect neighborhood grocery store. Its not too big, yet it has everything that I need. All the people that work there are helpful and friendly.

I used to work at this Safeway. I started as a courtesy clerk for a year and then 2years in the floral department. I have excellent Coustomer service skills and my other co-workers fallowed my example. Before i left they merged with Albertsons grocery store. The Coustomer service at Safeway has kind of gone downhill since then. I dont know why. They used to thrive on good Customer service to their customers so they could sell their products for a little more than other grocery store chains.

This grocery store Safeway helps you get going, it is clean and neat, has bathrooms and a Stare Bucks. Also the deli and bakery is deliciously stocked with fresh subs and bakery goods and much more. So is a place to refresh, shop, and get going.

Parking lot is a little strange, decent service. Just a regular store nothing fancy about it. Its has a Starbucks inside so thats nice. If was renovated and made to look like the newer stores it would be a 5 star.

I work here and they have the best staff! They know where everything is and are super friendly! Theyre super excited about giving to charity! They always go wahoo when someone donates!

Safeway is a great place to do your grocery shopping. They have a great variety. Their meat case is very good. Produce is beautiful.

Their 8 pieces of roasted( or fried ) chicken for $4.99 was a simple good deal -guess its just like a whole chicken since it was two pieces of each.. had it hot first then cold with salads for another few meals..

Its hard to believe that this Safeway and the Albertsons down the street are the same company. Go to Albertsons and dont be disappointed here.

Joe had wonderful customer service! So welcoming! He says hello, then asks how your day is going then as you leave, wishes you a great day! It is clear he loves his job! Matt is a hard worker. Very friendly staff!

This is a clean store with very well stocked shelves. The butcher counter is as good as any youll find in the area.

I dont normally do my meat shopping here but I just thought it was necessary to let you know that you have a real asset in your meat department named Dayton. He custom cut a steak for me and did a great job .His attitude really was terrific. He is pleasant and eager to answer questions and make sure you get exactly what you need. Its a rare thing to come across a young person with such a great attitude and attentiveness to customer service .He deserves a pat on the back.

Don’t go to their signature cafe for lunch! I waited for 25 minutes for a freaking sub sandwich. There were 4 gentlemen working! But really only 1 was actually working. While the other 3 were wondering around trying to look busy. The man who was actually helpful was helping 2 costumers while I waited and had to ask the other twice If they would mind helping me. Once someone did it took him over 5 minutes to put together the sandwich and he had to keep reading how to do it. I would have left if I hadn’t already wasted so much of my lunch. Then to top it off the Italian sandwich was gross.I will say bravo to the young gentleman who was actually working and they itialian pasta salad was good That’s the only reason for even 2 stars

A very large and clean store. Friendly service

Have to admit I was impressed. Just after a monsoon that apparently hit them worse than it did me. No power...no problem. Everyone was working to take care of product and people. I was still able to get what I needed on the 2 checkout lanes ran on backup power and everyone was in a great mood even though I would have been stressed out under the circumstances

I know it has been a few years since this has happened but I was short a dollar or so but there was a customer behind me that helped out with the amount and the employees where do awesome to help out with me to find the products I was looking for thank you ever so much

This is a nice store. Clean, organized, and staff are polite. Prices are steep on certain items but overall a nice conventional grocer. Check out lines do move a bit slow.

I understand that you have to put the rotisserie chicken away at 8. But there was no reason the deli people couldnt have explained that in a nicer way.

I am handicapped so when I arrive & am parked in a handicap parking spot, I call the Customer Service line & tell them who I am & where Im parked & that I need an electric cart brought out to my car and with a cheerful attitude they always send someone to me with one of the electric carts so I can do my shopping. Everyone is very kind & cheerful with me.

Lauren in the deli made my employee friend and I the best hot Philly Steak and Cheese Sandwich today for lunch that I have eaten in a long time!!! Bravo to them 👏.

Terrible customer service and they unaware that a person can return any Safeway purchase or get ANY refund for incorrect charge to ANY Safeway store regardless of $ amount. Called Corporate Customer Service who verified that. And the customer service agent Lisa was actually reluctant to refund my little amount and argued with me. That is not something that should be done either. Both the agent and her Mgr need to be properly educated. Would not suggest this particular store to anyone.

Trying to replace hard working employees with self check out has become a trend as well as Long lines.

These guys seem to be struggling - service is way off; friendliness has slipped (driving people to self check?); they seem to randomly drop stuff (eg daves bread) - or maybe theyre hiding it in their recent store reorganization (which caused no end of unnecessary relearning)
