The CSM, Frances, is very nice and helpful. She got me in and out with low pressure tire issue twice without any charge. Thats unheard at most automotive repair shops. 5 stars.

Chris, Frances and the entire staff at Jack Williams (Linden St. Scranton) were thorough, courteous and professional. They answered all of my questions and responded in a very timely manner providing all costs and estimates via email which many places just dont have the time nor do they offer to. Always great service. Easy drop off and pick up. I prescheduled my appointment and had an alignment, oil change, filter changes, tire rotation, break/rotor inspection and fluid checks and it was all done in one morning. Having a membership here certainly pays off.

Not satisfied! I brought my car in for a tire balancing and rotation, because I was getting trembling at higher speeds. I was called and convinced that my back tires are the reason for this, and that I should get knew ones. I did. I leave and here I am with the same problem on two new tires. Also, if the back tires were unevenly worn, why would they put my new tires on the back, when I asked for a rotation? So, no Im am not satisfied with my service. The attendants opinion cost me more money.

Nail in a relatively new tire. I would normally go to the car dealer but didn’t want to risk a problem. This newly opened Jack Williams location was convenient. They said it would take a few days. Tire came in two days early. Repair made quickly. Staff was courteous thoughtful and professional. I’m back on the road and I’m satisfied with the service.

The work was done fine. They tightened all the lugs, and inflated tires close to manufacturers spec. I brought my own tires with me. The price for mounting 2 tires was a ridiculous $74 and change.

My car battery died in a very busy area. Travis was a sweetheart and came out to help me and my family. He got my car started in no time. And we were able to get it to the garage for a new battery. Thankyou

Stopped by this tire shop for a quick repair on 6/18/19, as we were traveling back to NY. We gave the car keys to the attendant at the counter and sat and waited for the fix. One of the guys came back and said, all done! We proceeded to pay and was told it was OK, it is free for you. We were shocked. The service guy removed a screw from the tire and they patched it on the inside and send us off on our way safely. My husband looked at me and I stared back, we cannot believe this. There are good people out there folks and we are grateful. Thanks to you guys for assisting us, we will not forget your kindness.

Blew my tire so did not have option to shop around and was worried I would be overcharged since I had no other options. Instead, it was a great price and an extremely fast turn around time, despite not having an appointment and never being a customer in the past. Highly recommend.

My husband had taken his truck over to McCarthy Tire in Scranton for some auto repair work and he had a great experience. So I took my Honda over there last weekend to have my oil changed. They got me in and out quickly. Their prices were very reasonable too.

Recently brought in my Jeep due to engine light being on and lack of power.. from my first conversation with the manager of McCarthy I could tell this was not going to be like a dealership visit where they try to rake you over the coals for every little thing.. My car was brought in and serviced the same morning, they could have easily told me endless issues with my car, but they were direct and took care of the issue without any second guessing of what work needed to be done (spark plugs and an air filter).. I was able to pick up my car the same day.. I would gladly recommend McCarthy Tire in Scranton for any issues you may have with a vehicle, thank you Mr. McDermott for the professional service, any future mechanical issues, I will definitely be bring my car back!!!

Great customer service, very easy going guys that take your concerns seriously. After getting my tires replaced there, my TPMS light kept going off, so I brought my car back in and they took a look free of charge and made sure the light went off and everything was safe for driving. Thanks guys!

We are driving from Illinois to Maine, and when leaving Pennsylvania this morning we noticed a flat tire. We were greeted by extremely friendly staff, who quickly diagnosed and repaired the hole in our tire and we were back on the road. I highly recommend this place for tire repair, they were our angels !

The gentleman that assist us was very passionate about his job, and a man of solution.

UPDATE: we got a call the day after I posted this review saying out hubcap would be at their location the next day and I can come by and pick it up. If I had the cat they would also install it for us. When I picked it up they told me my next two or three oil changes would be free because of how long it took to get us the hubcap. If we go back after this we will see if this is something that they will honor.——————————-I dropped off my husband’s car Friday June 28th in the morning. The car need 4 new tires and an alignment. My husband works night so he picked the car up on his way into work at about 5. When I came out the next morning I noticed he was missing a hub cap on the front passenger side. Something he wouldn’t have noticed since he doesn’t get in the car on that side. I reached out to McCarthys on Facebook and they seemed to want to correct the mistake. I’ve called in late July and was told it was on back order. got a call in August and it was the wrong one. I understand that this could take some time, it is now SEPTEMBER 4th. I reached out again on Facebook (on August 31st) since I had luck on there before. I had asked about the status and if I could go a purchase the missing hubcap on my own thru my mother who works at a Toyota dealership and have them just just pay us back once I bring them the invoice and no reply. I don’t think they have any intention of replacing it at this point.

Took my vehicle in for inspection. Was told I would need a $500 in new brakes and rotors (JUST THE FRONTS!!) to pass inspection. Plus the car is only two years old, so I was immediately suspicious. I told them Id take the vehicle back and later in the week took it to the Ford dealer where i bought the car originally, who quoted me the same service for less than half the price. They took the wheels off, and told me my brakes and rotors were near perfect and that I wouldnt need brakes or rotors for another five years and my car passed inspection with flying colors. Go figure. These people are swindlers, stay far far away.

Great service, they tell you and show exactly what to repair and tried to do it in minimum time no over charge because IM CANADIAN like some other garage. (the only thing regrettable they should have a courtusy car available for their customer ) did not have to spend all day at the hotel far from all the restaurants and stores could have also spend time to visit this area.

I went to McCarthy Tire last week for an estimate on my breaks. When I went to pick up my car and get my estimate I was told that I needed 4 new rotors, new pads & calipers all around. Total price $1,008.Tuesday I went to my normal mechanic who was on vacation at the time which is the only reason I took it to McCarthy because it was close to work and convenient. His price... $18.00 for rear break pads and $30.00 for his time. My rotors were all fine and my front pads had more then 1/2 the pad still there.NEVER AGAIN!

I had some mechanical issues going on with this used car that I had bought a month ago. I was having problems starting and then once it was started keeping it would not idle. I took it over to the only Scranton PA auto repair shop I trust, McCarthy Tire. They were great and fix my car the same day that I brought it in. I will be taking my car back to them from now on.

I brought my car to McCarthys because the internet said this was almost a 5 star place. I was tired of bad mechanics. The first time I brought my car I told bob the intake person all the symptoms of my car. It is very hard to start. It starts when its cold weather but Not when its warm. They called me back and said its my starter. I asked them, are you sure? Did you TEST the starter. Did bob tell you itcould barely start last summer and when winter came it did? And now warm weather is here again and now its near impossible to start again, as last year? He answered, NO. A star fell off, in my mind, from their almost 5 star rating when I heard this. That is not 5 star work! Correct? In conclusion, he did NOT test my starter in the correct and professional way that it is supposed to be done! How do I know? When they told me it was the starter, at the time they said they tested it and were sure. I Went on the internet and read everything i could about starters and symptoms for my year make and model car and I also watched youtube videos on how to TEST a starter--professionally. The mechanic changed my starter and found out that that wasnt IT. It turns out it5 was the power cord that went into the starter! It was melted.! Then I knew for 100 percent certain that this man, this mechanic did NOT do the real professional TEST on my starter. He just GUESSED it and would have had me buy and pay for all that for nothing... Im sorry but that is NOT 5 star worthy work! Correct? I also had a screw in my tire and asked them to take it out and plug it. They said they will. Then when I came to pay for it I checked with them again and asked if they remembered to plug the tire. They answered, YES. I found out the third time I went to have work done that the same screw was still there! I get into my car and there is a horrible sound and I open the hood and my engine is almost jumping up and out of my car. I gape in utter disbelief and horror! They take it back in and do, something and it seems okay . Then next day i hear starnge sounds underneath my car and something is leaking. I dont recognize the fluid. I bring it in, they say I need a manifold something. I come to pick up the car and as Im driving it home I hear a jingling sound underneath the car and it feels like something moving or vibrating or pushing my foot as I step onto the accelerator. My car needs to be inspected. So I dont drive it at all and a few days later i set up an appointment to have it inspected. i mention the starnge symptoms my car was undergoing after they fixed it . So, I go there a third time and they say theyll fix it. I guess it was something they didnt do from the last time. missing clamps pipes something, i dont know. then the mechanic,, says, hey, you got a screw in your tire! I said WHAT!? You guys told me you pklugged it twice! Oh, they say, maybe you ran over another screw. No, I say, I havent been driving it because my inspection ran out. So they say dont worry well take care of it this time. This is NOT 5 star work my friends! Correct? Each time this crap goes on star after star falls down in my mind and it gets worse. I had asked one the 2nd time or third time around its ready to pass inspection, right? You saw the car? They said YES. I assumed so too because I owned the car for 4 years and have already sunk 4000 dollars into it. Just about everything is new on that car at thos point. so of course I fully expected it to pass inspection. The next day they call and say it needs STRUTS. to pass inspection. How much is that I ask . 300 for struts. 67 for alignment. 50 for inspection. I cant come up with the money at that time. What do they think ? I just had 2 things done and it cost over 300 bucks already! Do they think Im made of GOLD? I say just fix what you messed up the last time and plug the tire and ill come get it-- I cant afford to buy struts and pay inspection and alignment right now. I come the third time to get my car and i turn the key and the check engine light comes on! This isnt 5 star work.

Ive been here twice and both times they called me right before my car (two different vehicles) was ready to tell me something small was wrong and they can fix it immediately for extra charge which I knew was a lie because I heard the same story from multiple people about the same story.
