Wow, what a great buying experience! I just came off a terrible negotiation with the folks at LMC Marine (read my full review on their site), and I cant tell you how good it was to work with a knowledgeable and honest salesperson like Samantha Partain. She did a great job on the test drive of the boat in Clear Lake, was open & honest and shared with me the cost of the boat with no hidden fees. The boat came fully stocked and they were able to deliver the boat to our house. The after care with the technical team has also been fantastic and they were happy and eager to address any questions I had involving the electronics and general maintenance. Be prepared to hear the extended warranty pitch after youve purchased the boat, but I dealt with Wayne Spradley and he did a great job of explaining the warranties and at no time did I feel coerced or strong armed to purchase a package. All-in-all, super happy with my new Sea Ray 195SPX and super pleased to have worked with the wonderful team at Marine Max.

Buyer beware of marinemax Seabrook, TexasThey will say anything to make a sale and do nothing to service warranty items after the sale as promised. When brought up to the manager Troy Southers the problems I was told that whatever the salesmen tells you you must fact check by climbing into engine compartment and every compartment to verify salesman claims as that is purchaser responsibility handicapped or elderly makes no difference. After purchasing a million dollar retail yacht that vibrated and was told would be corrected only to find out that it is a my expense to correct since the manufactuer does not balance props, when test driven the moon roof did not operate and after nearly 4 months I was told they do not get paid by the manufacter to do diagnostics and were to busy to deal with it.Refrigerator doors hinges bad doors hang to one side 4 months later still hand avoid this dealer at all cost as they do not have qualified technicians and it will cost you thousands to go have repaired elsewhere. Was told the boat had AGM sealed batteries which was needed being a handicapped elderly man and could not go into engine room every month to fill batteries.Only to find out after the sale batteries were not as promised. What a night mare you must take pictures of everything you see on the biat during trail and have written assigned by salesman because any item u fail to list is not included in the sale more expenses to you.problems to long to list STAY AWAY YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Great sales, service, and selection! We went to the Houston Boat Show and numerous boat dealers over two years and we are so glad we found Marine Max in Clear Lake. You won’t get any high pressure selling there. They want you to find the right boat...whether it’s from them or somewhere else. Steven was terrific in sales - ask for him! Casey was great in financing. Captain Brian did a great orientation with us and took all the time needed to answer all questions. We took delivery by water with my husband at the helm and Captain Brian continuing his instructions. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and we are 100 percent pleased with our new 23 foot Boston Whaler! We would give them 10 stars if we could.

This place is great! Shane Humphreys took really good care of us and was extremely patient while we had to make a tough decision with our existing boat. Ultimately we purchased a brand not available at Marine Max, but we enjoyed our experience there. We also had a very good experience with the service department with repairs to our existing boat.

Recently purchased a new boat from these guys, and I have to say that I was really impressed with the level of service I got throughout the process. I inquired about a specific boat listed on the website, and Dave called me and really took the time to understand what I wanted and put together some options for me to come look at the next day. When I arrived I was greeted and Dave showed me the three boats he had picked from list of wants and nice to haves, and showed me boats that werent on the list. Worked a deal the next day for one of the boats we had looked at, and got the financial stuff taken care of with Casey. The following week I was kept informed of where we stood with the boat in regards to taking to delivery. On delivery day Captain Jeff took the time to show us all of the systems on the boat, helped with docking procedures, and answered any questions we had about the boats systems of mechanical pieces. I would highly recommend the team here at Marine Max for any boating purchase!!!

This place was great to do business with. I dealt with Shane from day one and could not be any happier. I let him know up front my schedule was hectic at work and I did not have a lot of time or patience to haggle pricing and deal with the typical sales BS you get at other dealers. Shane helped me identify the boat I needed and when it came to setting up a demo he already had it in the water ready to go when I got there with a staff that assisted with everything. He was quick with responses to my questions and extremely informative. Very little negotiation was needed as he did not know it at the time but was already 10k lower than a competitor I was also dealing with. Overall this was a top notch experience and Shane would be highly recommended.

As a first time boat owner, I feared that the process of buying a boat would be very similar to buying a car. However, I never felt pressured into buying or rushed at any point. Billy Foulkes was very professional, upfront, and friendly into answering any questions I had. Right from the beginning I sensed a tight niche community at MarineMax that gave off great hospitality, I believe due to Billy’s communication/customer service skills. It’s been about a month out from my purchase and just as promised Billy has been extremely quick to help and answer any issues that I have encounter with my new boat. This employee is a great asset to this company and deserves recognition. Because of my experience at MarineMax I will continue to do business with them for life as I grow in boat size in the years to come. Thanks MarineMaxAnd a bigger thanks to Billy Foulkes

The Mercury website lists Marine Max as one of the few authorized Mercury mechanics in Houston area; however, my last experience with them proves that they are not competent to work on Mercury outboards, will do more harm than good, and will push expensive preventive maintenance instead of diagnosing an actual problem. When my 2006 Optimax developed a ticking noise that I could not diagnose easily, I decided to have professionals at Marine Max give it a try.The check in process was fast and easy – they got my description of the symptoms and said they’ll be in touch. Two days later I received an estimate for a recommended “B” service for the total price before taxes of $1261.30. Nowhere in the estimate nor during follow-up phone call did they mention the original reason I brought the boat in – the ticking noise from the starboard side of the engine.I refused the preventive maintenance service knowing that I replaced the water pump 8 months earlier, replaced gear oil at the same time, and spark plugs only 40 hours ago. Additionally, changing the water pump and spark plugs would not eliminate the noise that was clearly coming from the power head. Marine Max did charge me $230.84 for running computer diagnostics, cylinder compression check, and the complimentary boat wash.Fast forward two weeks – it is a beautiful day on Clear Lake and we decide to take the boat out (ticking noise be darned). When launching I could not get the engine to idle. It ran rough and would die when shifting into gear. The day on the water was ruined. When I took the cowl off I discovered that one of the wiring harness plugs going from the lowest ignition coil was pulled out from its seat just a tad, forcing the engine to run on four out of six cylinders. Marine Max mechanic was the last one to work under the cowl and undoubtedly caused this malfunction. They completely ignored the original problem that brought the boat to them in the first place and were pushing a load of preventive maintenance that does not require a Mercury technician certification to perform. The best part of this story is that while fixing Marine Max mechanic’s handy work under the cowl, I was able to diagnose the ticking noise. All it took was a mechanic’s stethoscope to determine that the belt tension pulley has a worn out bushing. The 43-dollar part is on order and will be replaced by the next weekend. If you are looking for competent service for your Mercury outboard motor, look past Marine Max.

Dear Supervisor of Pretty Boy Sitting On Counter Who Didnt Say a Word to Me:You just lost a customer you almost had. I had to take time out and write a brief review, Ive been in sales and customer service most of my life and these days its hard to come across amazing service. I reached Chris Brissette in Service by pure coincidence, I dialed the 888 number and got the Seabrook location. Not only did he clearly understand what I was looking for (a switch cover) but his thoroughness, responsiveness and complete patience with my questioning and his resolve were 2nd to none. I had called numerous dealers in my area and continued to get the run around. The fact that he spend as much time with me on the phone as he did for a $2 part is simply awesome and very much appreciated. He couldve simply transferred me to parts after, but instead he had Clarissa call me back (she was extremely busy). The customer service didnt stop with Chris, Clarissa, also was a breath of fresh air to deal with. She immediately located the part and had SeaRay drop ship it to me directly and then offered to wave the shipping charges due to the (slight) delay in service due to them being overwhelmed and busy (nothing she had to do). In this day of electronics and social media (and many calls being routed overseas) it is EXTREMELY refreshing to experience such service. I live in Denver, but you can be sure that if I have any issues, or need any parts, I will be calling on Chris and Clarissa in Seabrook.Thank you for a job well done!Cordially,Pierre Suranto
