I took my truck in for general maintenance and inspection of problems of my concern. I received a detailed statement of all services rendered, several discounted items (complimentary services), and a detailed list of things that will need attention in the future. They also provided links as a option to view my truck through my email. The staff is great! Friendly and knowledgeable. Ive been a customer since 2018 and will continue to use their garage as my main mechanic. Thanks Wayside!
Amazing service with an awesome staff. Incredibly thorough inspection report (written explanations and photos). This was VERY helpful as I am not a “car person.” Prices were very fair and they donated to breast cancer for my brake job without raising rates. Genuine people with quality work are hard to find in this industry.
I had an amazing experience at Wayside Garage. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Being someone who isn’t too familiar with the inner workings of a car, I greatly appreciate that Wayside is a digital garage, takes photos of EVERYTHING that they review/fix in your vehicle and walk it through with you. I no longer feel the stress I used to when having work done on my vehicle!
I have been going to Wayside for a couple of years now and they have been thorough, detailed and transparent with their service. Every person I have spoken with: Sabrina, Stacy, Regina, Brandon, and Dean (my apologizes for names forgotten), all professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The shop is immaculate. I have taken both gas powered and hybrid cars to Wayside. They are nothing but the best.
Really appreciated their concierge service - they picked up and dropped off the car while I was at work. Super convenient! They certified my brakes and lights for the DMV.
After describing what I was feeling via the brake pedal when slowing down from speeds of 55 - 65 mph, Sam felt the same sensation under the same conditions. He determined that front rotors were most likely warped.I scheduled an appointment to have new front brakes’ rotors and pads installed on my 2013 Chrysler 300C. At the same time, I had the engine air filter element replaced. My car runs fine. Now, when I am slowing down or stopping, the brake pedal pressure has a nice comfortable sensation at whatever speed I have been driving. This is the second time I’ve had service performed at Wayside Garage. Both times I have been completely satisfied with their work. I highly recommend Wayside Garage.
Ive been taking my various vehicles to Wayside garage for the last 15 years. Most recently, my 1987 Buick Grand National. I enjoy working on my vehicle, but if theres something that needs a professional touch, I go to Wayside. Not only is their customer service excellent, its a trustworthy, family-owned garage. If youre looking for cheap, it might not be the place for you. If youre looking for people who will look after your car like its their own, take it to Wayside.
My husband and I were traveling through Seaside headed home to Washington state when the Clutch on our camp Diesel Dodge Promaster van decided it didnt want to go anymore! Of course we broke down in one of the busiest intersections in Monterey, but when I called Wayside, Stacie was very calming and helpful in stressful situation! We had it towed to Wayside garage and the whole crew helped take care of us!They were able to get us in and diagnose the problem for us! They had amazing service and we felt like family by the end of our journey. We ended up having our van transported home because the parts were very delayed (out of their control) but we would have definitely had it fixed here if we were local! Thank you Wayside Garage for the hospitality! If your in the area and need your rig fixed by trustworthy people, check out Wayside Garage :)
The best customer service Ive ever had. Went in for a transmission issue and they also did a thorough car inspection for any other issues I had on my vehicle. Sabrina was very professional and very knowledgeable. I will %100 recommend this shop and will be back!
The staff at Wayside were great best auto repair experience I have ever had. Very experienced. The staff just made everything great.
This was my first visit to Wayside and it was also my last. Although the car appears to be fixed, the communication throughout the service was poor at best. I dropped my car off on a Thursday and was told I would not receive an estimate until Monday. No one contacted me on Monday and halfway through Tuesday I called them. I was then told my car would be ready Thursday afternoon but received a message saying it would not be until Friday. No one called Friday, I finally called them after 4 and they said they would have to call me back. When they did, they said my car was ready. I picked up my car and signed the work order saying the charges came to (xyz), but I found out this morning that they charged an additional amount of almost 40 dollars for paying by card. No one ever said anything about an additional charge for paying with a debit card. If their communication had been better, I would most likely make them my garage of choice. Maybe paying a little more attention to new customers might be a good idea.
This was the best car service experience I’ve ever had. They were professional, timely, and fairly priced for the area. Highly recommend! I won’t go anywhere else.
My Chevy truck over heated and wayside garage fixed it up in a timely manner and a great cost. My truck runs perfectly now. Can’t wait for my next service and see smiling faces!
They run a professional clean garage. They are very good about keeping you up to date on anything they have found that might need repair. They send an online vehicle report complete with photographs of all of the parts that might need repair or replacement. The work appears clean and professional.
It’s great to support a family local business, and they seem like really nice people from the front Desk to the shop baysOh did I mention they’re also animal lovers
Incredibly nice people, super detailed service notes, dropped me off, and picked me up, gave me a bag of goodies, probably the best mechanic I’ve ever been too, prices are fair.
The best customer service I have had with any auto repair shop. From the second you call the shop, they welcome you to their family. They took the time to listen to my problem, do a very thorough inspection of my vehicle, price out multiple options and courses of action. During the inspection and repair, photos were taken and uploaded so you can see the work being done. When the repair was complete, without asking or expecting, my car was cleaned, tires shined and pulled around to the front for me. Sabrina and Stacey were very helpful, professional, and awesome people to get to know. Being in the military I have lived in Alabama, Kansas, and most recently Alaska. This family owned business is one of the best I have had the pleasure of working with!
The staff at Wayside Garage is so helpful and professional! They were able to service my car’s tire quickly and efficiently. I will definitely be coming back here for any other auto repairs I need! Thanks again Wayside Garage staff!
I am appalled that a company would prey upon the general customer by charging $150 for the exact same part I found on line for $27.Furthermore I was told they’re hourly shop rate changes depending on what they’re working on. Huh?I also read on auto forums that changing out a particular part takes about 15 minutes. Unfortunately I was charged $175 for the removal of the same part.I hope you sleep well. Unconscionable. I will relay this to anyone I know that even mentions coming to you for service or repairs.
Excellent! Visited here after another shop and Dealer could not fix steering issue. 3rd time is the charm....Great diagnosticians and very fast and efficient with constant follow up.Took my truck to local body shop for repairs as well.5 star service all around. How the staff answer the phone is how impeccable their service is!!
I’m so glad I found wayside garage! They were very helpful, professional, communicative, prompt, and transparent With fees and work proposals. I am very pleased and plan to bring all my cars to them. They have an excellent reputation amongst life long residents of the area.
I found Wayside Garage by researching top rated auto mechanics near me, and Im very thankful I chose them to work on my GMC Envoy. My mom and I were both wowed by how friendly and informative Stacey and her staff are at Wayside. I was happy to support a local family owned business, and Im glad I chose Wayside. My car hit 100k miles so they did a digital inspection; which was a very detailed inspection that helped me see the work from my computer as they uploaded photos to help show me what is being inspected. I really liked this aspect of Wayside garage. They also helped fixed the issue with my suspension, and an oil change. My car drives better than it has in years. Thank you Stacey and staff at Wayside Garage.
Very good service. Really professional, I recommend them for anyone with car problems.
Im incredibly happy I brought my car in here! The service was wonderful and everyone was very helpful and kind!
The Diaz family is top notch! I am so grateful that I found them. Sabrina is an absolute sweetheart and made sure I had everything I needed. I also spoke with Stacey briefly and its clear where her girls get their charm and respect. Thank you so much for your service and I look forward to working with you again next time. Aloha!
Fantastic customer service. Ive used them for two oil changes (one on each vehicle) and one brake repair. Great work, honest, friendly, and professional. Highly recommend.
The Wayside team did a complete inspection of my RAM 3500. They quickly identified the problem with my exhaust manifold and found an additional issue with my power steering. They worked with my insurance/warranty company to get a huge portion of the bill covered. I ended up with a more complete repair than I intended. This is the difference between a professional and an order taker. The digital client experience is top notch and Stacey was excellent.
Very satisfied. Great customer service; professional and helpful.
Friendly service. Pretty thorough on the diagnosis. Wayside does a great job. Only downside, it can tough to access the facility. Lots of cars are being worked on. That’s not a bad thing for business; shows they have many customers!!!
Kind people and very courteous. Did a wonderful job.
The a/c in my Saturn wasnt blowing cold. Id had the system replaced 2 years prior to bringing the car to Wayside.Their notes: Energized compressor and test operation with the scanner. The compressor does not engage. Test electrical connections. Ok. Test for power and ground to compressor. Good. Need to replace compressor. Accumulator will need to be replaced with compressor.Given recent complete replacement of my a/c system, and my own electrical test prior to going to Wayside, this didnt make any sense to me, despite the desk jockey assuring me that they always performed the full diagnostics on the electrical system. So, without being rude, at least initially, I asked to speak to their mechanic whod worked on the car, so I could understand how they came to the conclusion that Id need to replace everything. They refused! So, ok... I asked them to guarantee that the compressor was getting power or my money back. They refused! So, I went home, grabbed my multimeter, tested the power to the compressor myself, and lo and behold, they were WRONG about a $1k-ish prognosis. The compressor was, in fact, getting 0 volts. The woman, apparently part owner of the business, came out into the parking lot and berated me for doing work on their property. Apparently, they demand customers just roll over and pay them for bad service. She left this snarky note: Customer decided to test the AC circuit with his volt meter in the parking lot and proceeded to tell us that we dont know how to test the system. I told him that there was no charge and that he could take his vehicle elsewhere for service.I did not take it elsewhere for service. I had just been too busy with a masters degree to want to do it myself, but they energized me and I got it done in about a week, afterwards. What do you suppose was the fix? A diode in the fuse box had blown; something kind of unusual but only a couple dollars to replace. I also had to replace the clutch coil which likely shorted because of it. Total cost was less than their worthless diagnosis would have been. Ill end on a positive note: at least, at the free cost of being berated, they had charged my freon for me. I may or may not have needed that, but thank you for the free system charge, Wayside. Those who dont want to go through the trouble of double-checking their work should steer clear.
This place is like no other. Professional, Polite, Prompt, and affordable.
We took the Canteen(food truck) for propane gas access openings, and steering check, they end up finding this other issues that our regular shop didn’t mention and that are safety issues they took care of what we ask in a fast time
I havent been this impressed with an auto shop EVER. I had error codes and a laundry list of repairs and maintenance to get done. Sabrina walked me through the entire process.I cant say enough about the customer service at Wayside. This was a pleasant experience! I never thought Id say that about a visit to the mechanic. The shop arranged for me to have a ride home after dropping off my car. They ran a series of special tests to diagnose my car. The shop is so tech-savvy that they can text you digital reports. I really appreciated this as I could decide what needed to be done -- the report even included images as supporting documentation. The repairs and maintenance were completed quickly and the Sabrina even arranged for my car to be delivered back to my apartment! They have a secure link on their website to pay your bill remotely and can even email your invoice.Wow! I finally found a shop I can trust and who understands integrity and the importance of great customer service. Im so glad I found Wayside on Yelp. Ill definitely be a customer from now on.
They are very professional, informative, and have a very positive vibe from the service writer and technicians. I will definitely be bringing my vehicle back for more service. Thanks Wayside team!!
Alright so I would like to start that they have amazing customer service, which is why I gave them two stars. They were very friendly and nice. However, the niceness does mask their way of making money. I by all means recognize this is a business and they need to make money, but they tried to run me dry.I went in for a brake check and they told me my rotors, my brake pads, and my calipers needed to be replaced...and they quoted me more than 1500 dollars to do all of them. I did not have the money for that so I asked if I could just do brake pads and rotors. They told me no. They said I would lose the warranty and the technician said the calipers needed to be replaced as well because they were 10 years old. They also tried to up-sell me on a TON of other things. I trusted them because they seemed very nice but I wanted to double check (I am not familiar with brakes on cars and the prices). I went to another very reputable mechanic and they told me that yes, my rotors and brake pads needed to be replaced (my car sat for awhile) but my calipers dont. And guess what...it would cost a little more than $300 to do all of them.I went from $1600+ to $300+ just from going to a different mechanic. The mechanic told me they actually attended a training by Wayside Garage, and Wayside Garage were teaching their employees specific tactics on how to up-sell their customers on things they really do not need.I dont usually leave reviews but wow. I do not know about their other services, but do NOT go here for brakes.I am editing this review as a reply to the owners reply of this review. They said they recommended calipers only because of the difference levels of wear on the break pads...the thing is, calipers are not the only thing to create uneven wear of breakpads. To find out whether or not the calipers actually need to be replaced you must take the calipers off to check them. There are a couple other things that can cause uneven brake pad wear, including rust. And o boy were my brakes rusty. I left my car sitting for awhile due to a faulty transmission and I did not know about the rust until I took it to the other shop because wayside garage DID NOT tell me about allllllll the rust that was coating my brakes. Now, I should have looked, that was not good on my part, but when they called me to tell me how much my bill was going to be they did not say a single thing about HOW rusted my rotors and brake pads were which can definitely make the brake pads unevenly wear.I also know for a fact they did not take a part my breaks because I did the brakes myself and everything was still extremely rusted together...The other shop was nice enough to tell me there was a bunch of rust on my car....Wayside Garage would rather leave that information out so they can just tell me my calipers needed to be replaced.
Quick and on time with attention to what our needs were. I would use them again.
Good customer service and a convenient digital vehicle inspection product. I took my truck in with the intent to replace the exhaust system. After initial inspection, I did not authorize any work except for a transmission flush because of pricing. This shop does not separate parts and labor in their pricing, but instead charges by line item. Any shop that charges $135 for an air filter replacement (3 minute job with a $14 part) or $42 for a light bulb replacement should raise a red flag for any consumer. This immediately made me question all other pricing. They were very courteous and had friendly staff though.
Service was great, front desk girl kept distracting me with her looks.
Imma just say, I never do reviews because aint nobody got time for that. But this shop deserves it. I loved this place! I took my 15 yr old Escape due to ABS issues that I had been putting off for months, but finally took it in. I called ahead of time, told them my issues, and dropped off my car. They were all super friendly and accommodating to my concerns. The repair ended up costing less than I expected (bless), and had a military discount! So double win. But the thing that made the biggest difference was how nice everyone was. They were easy to communicate with and were never bothered by my (many) calls. Stacey even stayed several minutes past closing time for me to come pick up my car, and that was a huge blessing! Also shes super sweet and fun to talk to! This place is family owned, so I respect that too. Overall, I am very satisfied with this business and have already referred others to them lol. If I ever need something done again I know where to go!
I had a check engine light and brought it in to have it looked at. They honored a postcard coupon I brought in for a free check engine light. Dean took great care of me, advising me of what was needed once they were able to get under the hood. He advised me of all the steps they would take to get it fixed. They emailed and texted me the digital inspection report which as great. They even followed up with a phone call to go over it with me as well, giving me the cost as well. Excellent communication throughout the entire process! I will recommend them and I will return there again!
Excellent customer service and very reasonable. Our vehicles are always well taken care of. Highly recommended!
Family owned business that also made you feel like part of the family. Very organized, prompt and engaging. Thoroughly explained needed service and list of maintenance for future appts.
Wayside Garage is all about the customer. From answering the phone with professional and genuine courtesy to every part of getting ones auto to optimum performance within whatever budget it entails, the staff of Wayside Garage are the best. Thank you Sabrina and Stacy!
Ive been getting my car (2013 Toyota Prius V) serviced at Wayside Garage for about 6 months. They impress me with their transparency and professionalism, and the job is often done earlier than I expect (if I bring my car in the morning, theyre usually done by early afternoon). I plan to keep bringing my car back here as long as Im living in the area.
Dean and the Wayside Garage team were fantastic! After a horrible job from previous shop left my lifted trucks alignment plowing down the street, Wayside Garage was able to get my (tough to find) tires replaced, installed and even fix the mess left behind by the other shop.Dean and the staff were professional, courteous and fast, and able to fix what couldnt be fixed by a lesser garage. The shop was clean and the mechs did top-notch work. I highly recommend the team at Wayside Garage!Thank you all so much!!-Speed
Disgusting. Went with my children to get our car checked out and was then refused service because I should “go back to my own country” and got the hood of my car spat on. I tried to argue with them over this mistreatment and I was told that “women need to stay in their place and in the kitchen” and was laughed at, and called an abundance of racial slurs. Absolutely disgusting and I will NEVER go here again. My children and traumatized.
Wayside Garage is off the charts good. The level of customer engagement is without equal. Your car and it’s health and your understanding of all that is their only concern. The level of workpersonship is extremely high. Absolutely superb mechanics! You will love taking your car here!
I got an oil change which included an auto inspection and tire rotation. Good customer service and ease with the website. I wish they had been more transparent with prices though. I was told one amount ($40 or $50 for a standard oil change) when I first called, but ultimately I was charged more (total came out just over $100), but I just accepted it since there were so many additional items reviewed and covered compared to a traditional oil change. And the car pickup/drop off conceirge was so nice! Although no one called when it was dropped off after the service, so my car was sitting there with the key inside until I finally realized it had been left (three hours after initial expected drop off time).
Dean was AWESOME! Kept me up to date and informed me every step of the way while my car was at Wayside Garage. He was very informative and professional. I will continue to bring my car here for service repairs.
I have been going here for years and its the best! Not to mention I feel like I can trust them.
Supporting ONLY our local businesses from now on. Family-oriented and great customer service all around. Go Locals! 🤟
I brought my car in for a check engine light. They were thorough in their investigations and informed me of what needed to be repaired. They worked with my warranty service from Carmax. They repaired our car promptly within a reasonable amount of time and were in full communication during the entirety of the service. I 100% recommend Wayside automotive.
Great customer service! My appointment had to be pushed back because a family member went to the hospital, and everyone was extremely accommodating! They give you a full report on your car, so you can actually see what they are talking about instead of just taking someones word for it. Ill definitely be going back :)
Friendly, professional, and very transparent of the process.
I have used Wayside to do my yearly inspection for the past 2 years without issue. However, recently I had an issue with my turn signals in the front not working properly. I am extremely disappointed with their diagnosis of my issue. They indicated that I had a faulty socket for both my signals. I was under a time crunch as I was moving out of state, so they provided me with a part number so I could order my own part and have my father-in-law do the installation (he is a mechanic). Two things happened: #1 Wayside gave me the wrong part number (thankfully, the parts department at the garage I went to caught the error and found the right one). #2 They improperly diagnosed my issue. My father-in-law noticed right away that the sockets were fine, and saw that there was squirrel feces inside the hood and a squirrel had actually eaten through the cable. Being that there are the ground squirrels all over the area in Monterey, this should have been obvious. I am upset they cost me $200 plus to diagnose this incorrectly and would have charged me over $400 plus to not fix my issue at all.
I recommend this company highly
I worked with Dean at Wayside Garage and the entire experience was great. Very friendly people to talk to and work with, and was able to do the work I needed in a very timely manner. I was also very impressed with their full inspection and transparent process through it all.
By far this was the second greatest mechanic experience I have had, which is incredible. Wayside Garage raised the bar as far as im concerned. I felt the prices they charged were fair and their transparency was crystal. Amazing report, explained everything to a car-dunce such as myself, and were incredibly friendly. Im naturally cautious (having watched way to many youtube and news videos about scams and ripping you off) but I didnt feel that way at wayside. They are busy, but got everything done the same day I brought it in. they were a referral, and one of the best ones yet. Ill be taking my car to wayside for the remainder of my time here. I am satisfied with my care.
There are a LOT of auto repair shops in this area, hard to know who to go to and who to trust. Ive only had great experiences with Wayside. Theyre thorough, friendly, knowledgeable and work is done correctly. Stacey and Sam run a great family business. Theyve earned my trust.
These guys are fantastic! I have never met such honest mechanics, but dont take my word for it, they literally photograph (and/or video) EVERYthing and include it in a detail post-inspection and post-maintenance report. I know exactly what to expect every time I use their services and am very impressed each time. These guys really go above and beyond.
Stacey and the whole crew at Wayside are 1st rate all the way. When I moved out from Nashville in 2013 they worked on my 4Runner trans. Been my first choice ever since. Their mechanics are awesome.Great work! Great value! Great folks!!!Thanks Stacey and Sabrina see you soon!!
Sabrina was awesome to work with. My check engine light came on so I took it in. The service tech diagnosed the issue and Sabrina called me to tell me they would need to keep my truck for a couple of days to properly fix it. Going above and beyond, Sabrina also called me daily, sometimes even twice in a day to give me current updates which was greatly appreciated. My business has been won over. Ill be back, hopefully for just routine maintenance from now on.
Another great service experience at Wayside; timely and high quality!
The pick up and delivery service were a plus to the already excellent experience. We had two vehicles serviced in the same day and they made the process run smoothly. We greatly appreciate the good communication and how easy it was to process transactions online. Thank you!
Immediate service right from the start. They worked very quickly to figure out what was wrong with my car and explained everything in a non-scary or trying-to-get-money manner. They shuttled me to and from my house since this car is our only car for our kids. The prices were more than fair and the service was always very kind and respectful. Would 100% recommend and will go to them again for future issues.
THIS WAS REMOTE CAR SERVICE! I broke down in Monterey and headed back to la while WAYSIDE handled EVERYTHING AND SAVED THE ENGINE! And now I collect the car from lockbox! Thank you for taking care of me!
Didn’t secure my tire in place when changing tires. Could of died from there laziness. I don’t drive a Kia either so don’t know what they’re talking about in their reply.
I had a brake and lamp inspection done and they were great to work with. Very on-the-ball and even picked up my car due to the COVID-19 situation. Everything was very smooth and extremely nice staff!
Another mechanic failed to fix my car.Wayside fixed it correctly. That is a big start.Wayside’s software and communication system is the best I have seen. The staff is friendly and appear to be all customer service sensitive. They are sympathetic to any budget or car value. They provide a detailed free inspection. Be sure to get a quote on your rate as they have all levels of expertise on hand including electrical specialists and rates can vary. I plan to take 3 cars to them for service.
The owners and staff are kind, honest, and do great work! I drive from another county to get my car serviced here, I don’t trust anyone else.
I took my car in for a brake estimate to Wayside Garage recently (Oct 2017).For my Nissan Altima, brakes and rotors full replacement would be around $800. If machining is available, near $500-$600.My vehicle was quoted to be $1,100+ for machining of front rotors, replacing back rotors, and all new pads. That is quite high, and according to other local shops for comparison - gouging-ly high.On the receipt, they intended to charge me 3X for the brake fluid, a brake fluid flush when my brake fluid was still clear (Clear = good, Amber = Get changed, Black = bad).I was informed that my back rotors were in replacement condition. My car had 47K miles on it, and they were well within machining tolerances. They tried to get that past me for more gouging. The worst part in my opinion is when a brake inspection is done, they have to take the wheels off your car on the lift to get measurements of your pads and rotors. In my request, I asked in the process if they could rotate my tires when putting the tires back on after inspection. What is a complimentary request at 90%+ of other auto repair places, Wayside decided to charge me $45 for a tire rotation. $45! Something that takes 5 minutes to do and would think is complimentary because they would have to put your tires back on after inspection! Ridiculous! If you know the value of service to your vehicle, or value money in your pocket, stay away from Wayside Garage.
My experience with Stacey and the Team at Wayside was EXCELLENT! They conducted a thorough inspection of the vehicle upon arrival, with electronic reports and recommendations. Then Stacey was able to find and acquire the parts the next day. My vehicle had a dual front axle replacement and I had my car back 3 days from when I delivered it. Along the way updates were provided either electronically or directly by Stacey. I will always choose Wayside - the service is impeccable and I completely trust them with my vehicle!
Great personable friendly service. Very detailed and informative. Honest, reliable and trustworthy. Worth the reasonable price.
I had my first experience with Wayside Garage. Extremely Nice Staff! Super professional, knowledgeable, incredibly friendly and fair with price. Highly recommend for any auto repairs.Very pleased with service received and will depend on them in the future to keep my car in good repair. Thanks again!
Very nice and you felt like your always first
They did a great job on my repair and the communication was top notch from the moment I pulled my car into their lot. Would recommend to anyone who wants top quality work. The neatest thing is their mechanics are long time experts and do a good job of explaining issues. Thanks Wayside !
First let me say the quality of work was great. I have no complaints about that. I would take my car back if I got a written estimate beforehand. The reason I am giving two stars is that when I dropped my car off for what I know and have confirmed with other mechanics was a 2 or 3 hour, 3-400 dollar job, I was told verbally that the job would cost right around 350 dollars by the owner, Sam. I of course said good to go and went along my merry way. The next day, after hearing nothing all day back from them, I called in around 4pm to inquire about the status of the car. I was told that they were just finishing up and the car was being filled with fluid as we spoke and I could come pick it up, but that the job would cost around 700 dollars. I immediately ubered to the shop, where I found the car back in pieces (because the part they had received was bad - not their fault) and I inquired about the price increase and was told they had to buy a specialty part. Since the car wasnt fixed and they still had possession I wasnt about to argue at this point so I left and came back the next day, where I found the price had gone up to almost $850.00! only assume since I was on a roadtrip and needed the car fixed asap and they knew that from the beginning They decided to overcharge me thinking they could get me. I of course had to pay it to get the car, but did inform them I would file a complaint with he Bureau of Automotive Repairs, which I have done. The receptionist/owner got very nasty with me when I challenged the price and called out the false charges and informed her I would be contacting the bureau. I was never given a written estimate (illegal) which can only mean they planned to do this the entire time, knowing I was a stranded motorist. In addition, they never called to ok the more than doubling of the price (also illegal) before continuing to work on the car. Moral of the story is if you are planning to get work done here, they will do a great job, but make sure you have a written estimate first.
ONE OF THE LAST HONEST MECHANICS! I have sent many people to Wayside as well as I go myself. The customer service that Stacey provides you with is friendly and kind. She is very patient and is willing to listen to all your concerns! She is very honest and straight forward on what to expect with your vehicle. Samuel and Sonny are great with the cars! They take care of them well while being worked on and they work fast!My overall experience with wayside has been the best. Ive dealt with other mechanics in the past where Ive left in tears due to hidden costs and frustration. At wayside, I leave with a smile. My friends are always pleased with my recommendation to Wayside and I proudly continue to recommend people!
These people are awesome! Honest, fair... the works... definitely want to do business with them in the future!! A+
Great Place! They know exactly what theyre doing and go the extra mile. Not only is the service expert & fast, price is fair and they take the time to educate you. I bought my recently purchased vehicle for a thorough inspection & boy did they surprise me! Inspection was very thorough and the report detailed. I Highly recommend this place for all your vehicle needs. Thanks again to Robert & the team over at Wayside Garage!
Wayside Garage was able to service our car on the same day we called. They were able to get parts from San Jose and install them by the end of the day. They knew we were under a time restraint and were more than accommodating. More importantly, is their incredible work ethic and integrity. As a out of the area parent of a CSUMB student/graduate they provided service that was efficient, honest and at a competitive rate. Never hesitate to go to Wayside Garage.
Wayside Garage is the absolute best!!! The owners and staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable! The first person you usually see is Sabrina 😊 her smile is contagious and her knowledge is growing everyday, definitely a chip of the block from not only her parents but also her grandfather. All in all Wayside has been my go to for years and will continue to have my business.I highly recommend making an appointment for all your automotive needs and they work on other stuff as well...
Without an appointment...vans just dont go sometimes...Stacey made me feel like family on the phone and in person and at closing time. Lowered my stress level to zero...its about the people and the trust more than the service on the van, which was great and a quick turn around. Did I mention all this was without an appointment ? Wayside rocks...:))Second time around...old vans and old owners are a challenge :)) Wayside can handle anything !!
Great experience! I highly recommend Wayside because of their service and great customer relations. Work was fast and reliable. Stacey and Sabrina are very personable. If you want the whole story keep reading.I usually use a different mechanic because I have been going there for a few years, but I needed a job done quickly before a trip. I called on a Friday and Stacey fit me in on the next business day (Monday) when my usual shop didnt have an opening. I check Google reviews regularly before using new services and Wayside had some really good reviews. Most of the reviews were spot on!My car wasnt starting but I wasnt sure if it was the battery, starter, or alternator. Stacey was willing to talk me through some troubleshooting on Friday before she even scheduled me or told me to bring the car in. Together we determined the battery probably wasnt the issue.Once I brought the car in (towed to their parking lot), they quickly diagnosed the issue and sent pictures and descriptions of everything. They have a great system in place for updates. Every time I had to talk to Stacey or Sabrina they were very helpful. When I picked my car up I actually spent about 20 minutes talking to them because they were so fun to talk to!Again, I highly recommend using Wayside. Worth the money for the value they bring on every level.
Wayside employees really pride themselves on making the experience as pleasant and user-friendly as possible, which I appreciate! I love the report they email out after every visit with pictures of the fluid levels etc., although I dont understand what any of that means, tbh, so their system of coding suggested repairs as red (necessary), yellow (sometime down the road), or green (fyi, I guess), is really helpful. Im not a car person, obviously, so I like that they hold my hand through the process--metaphorically, of course. They were kind enough to drop off my car during shelter-in-place, which made me feel really comfortable, too.
I was extremely impressed with the excellent service I got yesterday. Wayside cannot only tell you about items that might need attention, but can also show you actual digital pics of virtually any issue. The whole look and feel of the place conveys a sense of focus and accomplishment. Extremely professional and total pleasure to deal with.
Robert was a great help! We had a terrible experience at newton brothers and I called Robert concerned and in need of help. He took myself and my boyfriend in right away and himself and the workers did our truck and runs perfect. We left super happy and had no complaints. I recommend anybody to go to this shop and take there vehicles there. You will be in good hands.
We have used Wayside garage to evaluate a possible purchase of a used car, routine auto care and servicing our Class B RV. They are professional, organized and always helpful. Responsive to questions, always have coupons, early drop off and late pickup available and very friendly staff. My go to car and RV repair shop!!!
Awesome to work with start to finish. Really impressed by their documentation of the vehicle and work. Easy to reach on the phone and proactive about communication
In town, traveling across the country and needing an oil change, read the very positive reviews for this local business. Called and they squeezed me in. I was impressed by how friendly the staff was and how thorough their work was. They checked my car and were honest in their appraisal of what would need to be done in the near future.
Outstanding service and craftsmanship! I have a ridiculous schedule and the team at Wayside actually delivered my repaired vehicle to my house, without me even asking!!! Outstanding!! Would recommend them to anyone wanting an honest mechanic and great customer service! Keep up the good work!
Dropped my car off at 9:30 am for an oil change and a simple fuel inspection. Was told I would get a email and a call didn’t get it til well after my wife called at 3:00 right about the time my wife went over there. We have a warranty through our dealership and they are supposed to be the authorized mechanic but apparently they don’t really want to be cause the whole time my wife is trying to figure out how we are paying them more than the dealership all she heard was problems with a warranty and a list of “problems” that weren’t and issue 5,000 miles ago. I don’t know if it’s the appearance of inflated charges based off doing things not asked to do or the fact they appear to be unwilling partners in the program but while they may treat every car like family. This is not the case for the owners. Well at least this owner and my warranty company will have to explain why I paid over the deductible when my warranty covers everything even the radio .......
Looking for a local, honest and fair garage to take my vehicle for repair. I love your service and how friendly the staff is. I’ll be bring my Tahoe early in the new year to get some work done.
Stacy and Sabrina were very professional and made my automobile headache go away in 2 days. I felt confident the technicians were taking the time to discover what was wrong with my car and fix it. the follow up diagnostic on most parts of my car I dont think about were presented by Stacy with clarity and visuals that made it interesting and helped me to have a plan to make sure I have a car check up in a few months! See you then and thank you all for a great customer service experience and merry Christmas 🎄
My car needed an inspection of the break and lights, which was required by DMV. the break inspection passed, but the light did not, because the fog light did not work. the lady called me and said that this is the problem. I asked if they can fix it, she said no, but they can remove the foglights. I asked about the cost, she said $315, because the have to remove the bumper totally to access the foglights and remove it. I said ok do it. when I got my car back, I noticed that instead to remove the bumper they just openend the liner behind the bumper and removed the foglights which can be done in 15-20 minutes. When I called back and asked if they removed the bumper? the lady did not answer and just said they have removed them. So my point is they charge based on the procedure they have on the paper, but in practic they work more less and this is a kind of robery.
I am very happy to have found a garage that provides customers with the kind of service they deserve. The entire staff at Wayside is friendly, informative and extremely competent. The tools and communication methods they use to keep you informed about the progress of your vehicle are excellent and very useful. I highly recommend Wayside.
