Great customer service! Happily answered my plentiful questions about their lumber. I brought in a diagram with how I was going to cut a sheet of plywood and they cut it for me so that it would fit in my car, easy peasy. And now I dont have to do an 8ft rip with a small table saw!They also have plenty of hardware!

This location has improved so much in the last few months! The garden center used to be full of half dead and usually bug infested plants.

Would rather come here than go to Home Depot. Only go to Home Depot if Im getting something giant they couldnt fulfill at this store. How good is this store? I have been going to these guys for years. 31 + years. I managed an apartment s and they were close and service very friendly. Always had what I need to make it workI highly recommend Stewarts. Its family own since they opened.

Stewart Lumber is my go to lumber yard for projects around the house and yard. The shop is of course smaller than the big box hardware stores but it is crammed with stuff you actually need and want. For cedar and fir and other construction grade lumber I always come here. The quality is always superior to the big box hardware stores and the prices are better than the local chain lumber yards. They are open Saturday mornings and the staff is super friendly so if you have a project this is just a great place to start your weekend.

This is my personal opinion for The Stewart Lumber Co. At 7:45am I inquired about purchasing lumber and taking measurements for a sideboard for a Dump Truck, I was instructed to go to the back Yard area for assistance. I again indicated that I needed assistance with the purchase of lumber, and needed to have a person look at the equipment to ensure I purchased the correct material, the employee stated I dont do that and instructed me to go to the front office. I explained that the front office instructed me to come to this area. Again the employee advised me to go to the front office. As I was walking to the front office I saw what appeared to be an employee and asked if he was indeed an employee, he stated he was. I explained my request again, and the employee advised that he could assist and would need to get the forklift and would be back. After 10 min passed he returned with the forklift but advised that he was uncomfortable with assisting me as he was a new hire. Although I am aware that he may have been unsure of his capabilities, I still needed to have a person who was knowledgeable with lumber to ensure that I purchased the correct material for the job. I thanked the employee and advised I would be writing a Google review and taking my business elsewhere.Even now in 2013 it made me feel that due to me being a black man, my business was not valued, so I will not be returning to that store to do any type of business at all. This is my personal opinion about the situation. .

I love this place. Not just good service but seriously good buyers. Not all lumber is created equal and at places likes Lowes & Home Depot the lumber barely matches its supposed grade, and by the time folks pick through it, a stud grade 2 by is not likely to be stud grade anymore. At Stewart their lumber is always some of the best around - dimension lumber, siding, fence boards, whatever. They cant always compete with the big boys for house packages but aside from that, I think this is the best lumber yard in Seattle.

Got keys made here. Staff was great. They had the blank I needed while I went to a Lowes and they messed up. Sometimes small hardware stores are the best to go to because they put more care into their work.

I went for lumber to make drawers. The Stewart Lumber employee was very helpful. We located 1/2 inch CVG fir and he pulled out the lengths I wanted and helped me load them. There was a bit of wait at checkout, but that was because the counter staff was not rushing folks through and was giving them all the help they needed. And a little chit-chat, too. Like a neighborhood business should do!

Very friendly. They actually had these random deedle-bob screws and bolts that I needed for an old futon that I couldn’t find anywhere else. Great service and quick!

Im a deck builder, and I must say, Stewart Lumber is the best Lumber Supplier In Seattle hands down due to their supply, and quality to price ratio. Their cedar has a color that you just dont get elsewhere every single time. The people are excellent, I rarely have to return crap lumber because they get good stuff.

Been here multiple times as Ive been doing a remodel nearby. Horrendous service except for the guys at the front counter who are way too busy way too often. Everyone working in the yard seems upset that you are getting lumber or avoid you altogether. Was told I couldnt pick the lumber I was buying as it would lead to all the good lumber being taken. ...yeah thats the point. Im building something for a homeowner and they have high expectations as do I. If I pay $2 a foot for a piece of wood I expect it to not be a cracked and splintered throw away piece. Never going here again. Ill go out of my way to go to limbecks, dunn or any of the other small yet awesome lumber yards in town

Stewart lumber has competitive prices, knowledgeable staff, and free delivery (orders over $100). Free delivery on Mercer Island is a big plus so that I dont have to carry long boards in my car on the freeway.

A great neighborhood resource. They know there business and will order what you need if its not in stock.
