Absolutely love this place!! Perfect for finding odds & ends for around the house, small hardware, craft supplies, kitchen stuffs, small appliances, party supplies, etc.. wonderful for days when you need something random and dont want to leave Capitol Hill. The man behind the counter is a great human being and is one of the friendliest people in Seattle, dont be afraid to ask him to help find something.
Kind of a weird store - but 5 stars because they have a lot of really random but needed hardware/art/craft/kitchen supplies that you simply cannot get anywhere in the area without driving 15-20 minutes. They have fabric dye, electrical cords, nice sketch books, brushes, nails, hooks, screws, duct tape, masking tape, spray paint, tons of kitchen tools, waste baskets, laundry baskets, and a ton of random stuff. There is a lot of old stuff that looks like overpriced dollar store party supplies, but hey, maybe I’ll need party streamers some day.5 stars for carrying stuff that’s pretty hard to find in the area, especially considering they’re open 8-10pm. Prices reflect that, but again sometimes you don’t have an hour to drive to the Home Depot in north gate and instead want to walk 5 minutes and grab the obscure wood screw you need.
Shop owner is super kind and helpful. A wide range of items.
Very friendly owner and lots of items in stock that you can’t find anywhere else late at night. Ideal for quick runs when you’re in a project and need the odd piece.
Wasted my time. Hours on the door say 8-10, same as on here, but I showed up at 9:15 and the door was locked. Waited around for a bit - nothing.
They have almost anything you need and then some stuff you didn’t know you needed! Staff is always friendly and always remember me when I come in.
Fake nicotine products. All of them:( I should of known better than to buy from this place. & I didn’t get a refund. $30. In store! Pshhhh old man rude af
Wanna love it but inventory is mostly old and from 99¢ stores marked up way too high...The place could use a reset - tastes rather stale...
We really appreciate all the selection, and shop here often. The owners are very friendly!!
As Capital Hill has a surprising lack of hardware stores ShopRite works in a pinch. It has most commonly needed hardware but generally one brand of each and not always of quality. It is a hardware/variety/dusty corner mom and pop and could be appealing if not for the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke which which permeates the store.
Hey, reviewers griping about prices....real estate on Capitol Hill is EXPENSIVE. You wanna save a buck fifty on a can of spray paint by driving 20 mins (each way) to navigate a soul crushing maze of endless aisles at Home Depot, go right ahead. What you are getting here is convenience, the pleasure of walking to our little 15th Avenue village, and the satisfaction of supporting a friendly family-owned business.Doesn’t really look like a hardware store from the outside but it is, plus tons of other household goods.
Wide variety of useful household and hardware items. Nice local resource. No returns allowed.
Shoprite is a real gem. Want a new light switch? Shoprite. Paint roller? Shoprite. Birthday card? Shoprite. CD-ROMs? Shoprite. You get the idea. It has so much stuff crammed into its modest footprint. The guy thats invariably behind the cash register is quiet and stone-faced, but very nice and happy to help you find whatever youre looking for. On many occasions its saved me a car trip to Home Depot or Target.
Sells counterfeit nicotine products ( puff bars ), to verify scratch code and check on official website if it is real. When asked owner, didn’t want to help or offer refund. I spent $30 on a fake product
It’s the corona scare and they’re selling cleaning supplies without price gouging like I’ve seen elsewhere (tisk tisk amazon)Many thanks to the owners for supporting the health of the communityAlso a great place to find that random thing noone else carries
I totally agree with the last reviewer that this is a completely underappreciated resource. There is SO much stuff in this tiny store - Ive done everything from home repairs to birthday parties to odd baking projects with nothing beyond what I could find in its walls. Everyone within walking distance ought to check it out before assuming you need to drive somewhere to get household goods!
Great corner store that has friendly staff and a great selection of things for the house, party supplies, you name it.
This place has all of those little things you need, but cant find anywhere else. I got a drain snake, electrical tape, a pipe cleaner, a laundry hamper, some light bulbs, post it notes, an audio adapter, a toaster oven, sealing glass food containers for packing my lunch, a mixing bowl, a sink strainer, a sewing kit, fabric measuring tape, party supplies,This list of things goes on and on. If you need exactly that one thing that no one carries, this place has got it. Its AWESOME.There is tons of stuff in this store, if you cant find the thing, ask! The owner has always been great about helping me find the stuff, and he had had what I was looking for every time. Cant recommend this place highly enough.
This place is awesome. It carries just about everything. A good example? Helium tanks for balloons. The Balloon company across the street doesnt sell it (why on earth not?). This place. Of course. It carries everything. You have to go in to appreciate exactly how big it is. There are store rooms that just keep winding back into the building. Its awesome. Some of the reviews mention price. Its not a discount chain. Its a local shop on the crest of Capitol Hill. Compare the prices with the Broadway Market QFC hardware store and its more than competitive. And even against Lowes and Home Depot, once you factor in time and transportation its still a better bet. Honestly, are folks expecting them to sell a hammer at Harbor Freight prices?Did I mention local? :) And about as friendly as youll find. I just wish I found this gem years ago.
Excellent service very nice owner
Real nice things
I called to see if they had an item in stock. I was then told he didnt have time to check. I proceeded to ask if I should call back later when he had the time and he said that that was not possible with, no, you come in and check.
I have been here many times and wanted to like the place because they have many products. However there was one experience that pushed me over the edge and its become apparent to me that this store is completely willing to sell you poor quality products that are likely to break. I bought a pump for my bike tires that requires you to pump with your foot. It broke after less than 2 weeks and when I brought it into the store and upon inspecting the pump it began to fall apart in the shop clerks hands. He then proceeded to tell me that I folded the tube and I didnt take care of it when in actuality it was all folded up within the packaging and theres no gentle way to pump with your foot.I feel like such a fool for thinking that theyd be able to offer me a long term solution to the problem I had. Do your research- theres probably a better product out there than is sold at this store.
They have a good selection of stuff, but everything is way overpriced. Many items look like surplus costco and Walmart products that are double the price.
