Wonderful experience at The Apple Winery! Visited for our honeymoon while I was pregnant & couldnt taste the wine. We had great customer service, and the woman at the wine tasting counter explained in detail what their wine flavors consisted of since I couldnt taste anything. She was so helpful and very sweet. My husband had relayed to me that the wines all tasted unlike anything else we have tried and were tasty. We ended up buying a bottle to bring home with us! Cant wait to try it. Thank you for the wonderful day, looking forward to coming back again!

We started our wine trail here and this is such an amazing place. We really enjoyed the tastings at the cider house and winery (right next door). They have a ton of cute decorations to purchase and a country store. I thought everything was a bit pricey ($20/ bottle of wine, $20 for 32oz growler, $40 for 64oz growler, $6 for pint can of cider), but everything is high quality and great attention to flavor detail. We didnt eat at the restaurant, but our visit was very fulfilling! Highly recommend.

This is THE best winery in the area. I have sampled pretty much every single winery here, and this one beats every one BY FAR. Their wine is so good and made on site. If you want quality wine, go here for sure. I love all types of wine, and they offer dry, semi sweet, and sweet. Highly recommend this place! Ben was super helpful and kind when we sampled.

The ladies in the shop were great, pleasant and helpful.I would have given this place 4 stars but Thomas was tight lipped and showed us ZERO hospitality while there to purchase wine for our upcoming event. My husband and I travel to Gatlinburg every year and each year we do the wine/moonshine tastings that are available and each year we fall more and more in love with Tennessee wines. (Being from Michigan, we get a lot of good cherry wines from the local wineries but the grape wines up here just dont seem to compare to those that are offered in the smokies.) Im a sweet wine drinker and my husband is a dry so between the two of us, we usually end up trying everything on the selection sheet. The tasting was fun and the selection was diverse (a good thing for us) some patience was needed this year as due to covid, things are a little slower and less laid back than before but, as I mentioned it was still a lot of fun.We ended up with some apple raspberry and an apple cherry to take home.

We went in the winery on Saturday night (part of the wine trail) at 7:45 pm not knowing they closed at 8 pm. We stood at the counter for 8 minutes waiting for someone to greet us or to just acknowledge that we were there. There were 4 workers and they were having there own conversations and finally someone spoke up and said we quit the tastings at 10 till so we can get out of here. We were fine with that but disappointed that no one had spoke up to say anything. When we walked in the place had a terrible smell but we said we would come back on Sunday. We did go back on Sunday and it still smelled bad and the 4 people were just as rude as the night before. We were never greeted again and they took several other people in front of us. We watched as the other girl was doing several other things besides the tasting and no one was really explaining the wines. Finally we were able to do our tasting and we only liked one of the wines they offered. We left and went to the cider tasting which everything is carbonated. The girl was getting ready to get off work and rushed us through without explaining much at all. Both of these places need to be taken off the wine trail as every other winery was super nice and friendly. We talked to several people that work in various places and they all said that the staff at the Apple Barn are very rude and the managers do not care. We will not be going back!!!!

With all the awards won, I did not see an one for customer service and I know why now. The two ladies were not friendly, they acted more like our small group was more a hassle than customers. The wines are good, a bit over priced but their store front service was sub-par.

This is the third stop for us on the wine trail. We are members of the wine club so we get to try all the wines on the list. We also make our own wine and like to find a flavor that we like to try and duplicate, so ALL wineries will get a minimum of 4 stars from me. They have dry, semi sweet, sweet, and a frozen mix to choose from. I think they can only let you have 6 samples per person so choose your samples based on your pallet preference. Im not an apple wine guy but my wife likes the apple flavor. So stop by and try them for yourself. They also have some neat items for sale in there store so check them out.I always buy empty bottles here that I use when I bottle my homemade wine. I usually buy 10-20 cases and they will roll them to your vehicle and assist with the loading. Very nice and helpful people working here.Dont forget to get your Trail Card stamped. Better yet dont forget the card on the counter when you leave.Once we leave here we head to Mountain Valley Winery.
