Family owned for generations, always had or could get what you need. We are going to hate to see the one in Shawnee close after all these years of fantastic customer service and friendly help. Best of luck to the Hartman family with their future endeavors and may God bless.
A hardware store thats in business to help you! They wont try to rob you but actually show you how to save yourself a lot of money. Most honest people youll ever meet. Whatever your Hardware needs are, go here first!
Super service, items you dont find in the big box stores, competitive pricing, family owned, good people
They are family run. They have A little bit of everything. They help you with your search And smile! Give them a try.
I wish I could remember the old boys name behind the counter. Every time Im in there hes more than helpful and I learn more than I intended. I love Hartman Hardware!Thank you all very much!...and Ill be seeing you in the next few days, lol
Great place. Honest and dependable. Have used them for years and would not take my mower anywhere else. Great family and honest business
Mike and Lisa are great. Outstanding service. You cant be a small family-owned hardware store
Family owned and operated for decades. .. and still AWESOME. ...
Great service but little pricey and smaller selection. But great hometown shop kind of feeling.
A true mom and pops kind of hardware store. The staff are super helpful. They have everything from grass seed to engine repair/maintenance. My go to place!
Best customer service Ive had in a long time! I recently went through a bout of bad lawn mowers. My first one quit on me about a month ago so I purchased a used one that gave out on me after day 1 - and the seller split completely (my own fault...) I went up to Hartman and Mick (I think was his name?) asked me about my mowers and even offered to take a look at them to see if he could offer any insight at a quick fix by eyeballing it at no charge to which pleasantly surprised me. After a long talk and a couple more visits that day I was so impressed that I just ended up buy a mower from them on the spot. The other lady that works there was a delight as well, and very nice. I will be a returning customer for sure!
I would not suggest Hartman Hardware on Neiman and Johnson Drive to anyone unless you wish to get screwed over. I just recently picked my mower up last week from repair there. They quoted me between $70-90 to repair. They called me 3 weeks later and said the mower was fixed and ready to pick up. I get up there 2 days later to pick up my 13yr old mower to a repair bill of $189 dollars. They never called once to ask my opinions or give me options on the repair. just called once to say the mower was fixed and ready to pickup...needless to say i was/am livid. i could have bout a brand new mower with another $100 added to that bill. The woman behind the counter was always snooty always had a smug, with an unapproachable scowl on her face and very unfriendly. Mike the repair guy was as nice as can be but their customer service and professionalism was something to be mentioned, at its nothing to brag on. I am so tempted to sell this mower for what i paid for in repair and just buy a brand mower one.Thats my 2 cents on Hartman Hardware and I will slam them every chance i get and deter any future business from them. This is NOT the way you do business if you dont want to be considered shady or the way you treat customers....paying no less.
Great personal service from knowledgeable owners. Get your lawnmower fixed and screens repaired and grab the hardware you need for your home rehab projects.
Great people, great service, locally owned. What else do you need
There is a reason this little family hardware store has survived since Home Depot/Lowes!I grew up in Shawnee. I can always go there and as soon as I walk in the door, I am greeted with somebody asking what I need.Widowed now. No man anymore that could fix everything, that used to like them for not having to walk forever to find something. He said was worth a few pennies more sometimes.Saved me from having to hire expensive repairs needed so many times I could write about in last 10 yrs. widowed. This is real story: I was leaving town for a long road trip. My rear view mirror fell off. I went down there and they actually came out and looked, and fixed it with the product they recommended for fix for trip!Said they were worried that I needed a rear view for so many miles.Every imaginable repair, question about repair, advice has been always answered and fixed thanks to them! Just from a screw/nail size to lawn care, mice control in my chicken coop, what was best supplies needed for projects, etc. They need to market to widows/single women! I KNOW they has probably saved me thousands over the yrs. by helping me with EVERTHING I have thrown at them!O.K. the cons: It HAS had some bad reviews over a lady in the original family not being too friendly. She has not been there in the many yrs. I have been there recently. Also: Regarding their lawn repair part of biz. I have not had a product they repair. I have had same bad luck. But, person who did this review, I have to ask why you were spending to repair such an old one anyway when you even admitted another hundred could have bought you new? And definitely Craigslist for a used mower? That is how this widow replaced mine after finding repairs are more expensive than worth except for riders, high end, etc.Advice to owners: Keep the older female owner out of reach of customer service. She has a bad reputation that goes back yrs. and you cannot afford anymore with corporate sized competition. Sorry, keep Grandma at home or in the office. You are still in business for a reason-GOOD customer service!Might want to tweek your repair service as well it seems. Plenty of repair guys always available now with Craigslist.Pros: Even seems small, they have ALWAYS had what I needed, can order it, fast walk-in service. Trust them, they have never failed me.
Mike and Lisa are the best!!
She was amazing
