This is the hardware store closest to my house. I love it for all those basic needs because you dont have the warehouse hunting like in the big stores like Home Depot or Lowes but they still have all the basic tools and supplies youd need. Staff are super friendly and happy to help with any questions I have.

On Saturday I found my bathroom door was locked from inside, and I was on the outside! I decided the easiest way to open the door would be to saw through the latch. The Shawnee store was busy on a Saturday, but Lee helped me with getting a DeWalt reciprocating saw and battery and charger. Cutting through the latch was easier than I expected, although my cat inside the bathroom at the time was not amused. Now I just need a replacement door knob.

I believe Ericka was great. Got this bad boy in early than expected. Good warrenty when you register. Expensive but first mow was fun. Even took kids one at time on floor. You can tweak the power on blades or drive train. Best electric mower I could find. Already had allot of ego products. Ego is definitely top of electric yard tool game. 4 batteries that can be used with all ego told and rim for 2 more on this beast. Im 300 lbs. It drives like a gas mower, probly better. Glad that these smaller hardware stores still exist for better service, and a quick way to pick up something you need quickly.Prices are higher since they dont have the same buying power as the bigger stores, but worth it when you can get er done faster!Received quick and excellent service this trip as usual.

All staff was courteous and helpful. I called in some stain and the staff got working on it immediately and I had 4 gallons shaken and out the door within 10 minutes of a phone call. Thats some damn good service! Thanks Ace!

Great hardware store with a lot of options.

Went there to get a key made and program for my car. The employee acted like he didnt want to do it in the first place. Kept asking me if I was sure I wanted it done. I said, yes.We ended up dealing with it for 40min without it getting done. He couldnt figure out the system to get operated for some reason.It was a total waist of time for me to go up there and even try to get it done.Workers need to be properly trained and keep tablet updated before they attempt to help another customer out.I dont plan to go there again!

Always a great place for getting quality Benjamin Moore paint. They have many products for your home beautification as well as for maintenance and upkeep. Also a great location for getting flowers and yard work products. If you live close by, give them a visit.

I bought the wrong part yesterday so I brought in my entire assembly. I literally ended up needing a 1.79 package of rubber washers and the sales associate actually put on the new washer when he removed the old defective piece.He really went above and beyond and saved me a great deal of time and money. Westlake never fails to disappoint me. Often when I am in store for a specific item, they are out of stock. Secondly, when I check another Westlake inventory on line, and drive there 20 minutes later--guess what--no stock on hand despite what it says online. Finally, ordered online, stated delivery next day, planned on same, needless to say nothing arrived despite ready for delivery status. Enough said, no longer a primary go to.

Ace is the place. Best to pay attention to the sales and use their free rewards program. Not as cheap as the big box stores, obviously, but great for quick need fixes and sometimes their sales cant be beaten.

Bought wrong length chainsaw blade. I had no receipt. The kid found it on my rewards card and exchanged it for me. He was young and on the ball. Works at the Shawnee Mission Parkway store.

Used my 5 dollar card they sent me & was able to get new vent for dryer, razor blades & super glue. A young man who works there, helped me out too.

They ran out of the chalk paint I was needing, didnt seem to know a thing about where else in the store I could find some and they didnt have prices on things so you have to go up front to the cashier to ask how much it is. Then they tell you its one price and ring it up as another. They have no manners at this store except for a kindly old man who has to put up with it all.

We found the healthiest, cheapest, best selection of flowers at Ace Hardware in Shawnee. We also found grass seed that was ALL grass seed, instead of lots of fillers. The staff is always right there to help, and knows everything about what we need, unlike some larger chain stores. We love Ace Hardware. They always have the hard-to-find items.

Ace does have the helpful hardware folks! Erika (the assistant manager) was super helpful and knows her paint. She was able to answer all my questions and able to recommend the best brand of paint and why their formulation was better than Lowes. The Valspar Aspire (the paint she recommended) worked out perfectly for my house.

I Love Westlake hardware. The associates are always very friendly and always helpful when Im there. Its a nice warm feeling to shop at a smaller hardware store for a change rather than one of the giant home improvement stores that can be overwhelming at times Expression Li when you cannot appropriate assistance. Thats the one good thing about this Westlake Hardware Store.. You are never forgotten about and always an important customer. I am a loyal customer.

Next door, youll find Dollar General where they literally pay a few dollars per hour more to start. Oh! One more thing... Ive been there several times in which I see the manager yelling at a cashier and /or arguments behind the closed office door that really needs some sound deadening. You should have some in isle 12...

We went for just a couple of items. Had trouble finding one of them. I have found that Westlake always have employees that you can find & they are knowledgeable on product. If they are not sure they always find someone who does.

Lots of products. Customer service was lacking. I waited for requested assistance and gave up after 20 minutes. Product I wanted was available on line. There seemed to only be a few customers in the store. Went to another Ace and had a much better experience.

The staff is friendly and helpful. However, if you need to ask questions plan on your trip taking some time. Usually I have to wait for help while the staff is in lengthy conversations with other people. Usually its worth the wait and I get helpful tips and stories when its my turn.

Westlake ACE hardware in Shawnee, KS cant be beat for hardware. Unlike the big box stores, you can still purchase individual fasteners instead of having to buy the jumbo box. (You know, the expensive jumbo box that the big box stores wont let you open to see if its REALLY what you need?) Hardware staff is very helpful and will help you find that weird connector or bolt you need. Also they have some of the best deals on furnace filters, even cheaper than the big box stores. Staff always has a friendly hello when you enter.HOWEVER: Do not buy your paint here if you need them to make a color for you. I have tried several times over the years and they have NEVER gotten a color right for me, even when its being mixed from one of their own samples! Want eggshell finish? Theyll give you flat. Want Limesicle? Theyll give you Minced Onion. Want sage green? Its electric seafoam for you! I am really not sure why I keep trying; Sherwin-Williams is right down the street, comparably priced, and gets it right every time.Bottom line: As long as you avoid the paint department, this is a great hardware store.

Every Ace Ive been too in KCMO has been understocked, and unorganized. The website isnt accurate to actual stock and the staff seems to not care at all about customer satisfaction.
