If I could give a 0/5 I would. As a young female, purchasing a gun can be rather intimidating. I own guns, I know the basics. However, I know that I’m not necessarily versed in the subject. I went to this Academy twice and was actually ignored the first time I walked up to the gun counter. Because of convenience, I decided to try going by again. I understand that people have bad days. The second time, the man behind the counter decided to help another gentleman that was standing beside me before helping me.. even though I had be waiting longer. He gave me a few guns to hold but I had already caught the vibe that he didn’t really care if I bought a gun that fit me and my needs or really even if I bought a gun at all. After holding a few I chose one that I felt would work for me. It was when we went to do the paperwork that he actually started talking to me like I was dumb. I told him, I’ve never had to do this before so can you please explain what you need. And please know it wasn’t anything he said, it was the tone and the look on his face. I didn’t have everything he needed so I just told him I’d be back. But I won’t. I’ll never be back. Instead, I purchased one at Bass Pro! And I will be sure to tell everyone how poorly I was treated and will be referring all of my friends to Bass Pro.

I picked up a curbside order. Didnt have to wait long. Very friendly associate that brought out my order. Verification process is really secure.

Like all the Dallas Cowboys clothes and gear. Also- they have a pretty good selection of Womens Adidas and other casual/sporting wear. Great selection of kids shoes also.

I went to find a shoulder brace. They didnt have one in my size. There was large and medium. I definitely thought of all places they would have it for all sizes. Not all people are medium and large. And they only had one of each. They sell baseball stuff, football stuff, golf stuff. All things that can deal with a shoulder injury. So what?????

Bought a 22 pump action 22 rifle from Academy for grandsons birthday. He used $100 of his birthday money to help towards the $300 purchase price. When we got it home he discovered he didn’t have the strength to pump it. Called Academy and they said they don’t take returns or exchanges. Spoke with District manager Jose who said we just caught him and he said no problem they would allow an exchange and he would notify the front. Just bring it back. We immediately got everything together and went back to Academy. After getting there they refused to exchange. I will never purchase anything from Academy again. I will use someplace that is customer friendly. Their customer service is severely lacking.

Wide variety of all sporting equipment and clothing. Staff is very helpful. But, I find most items pricey compared to same products in different store or online.

Picked up outdoor play set, that was ordered on line. Guys that brought it out were friendly/courteous, checked ID, loaded up in back of truck.

I am Biased as this is my favorite Man Store. Always has everything I need. Everything from shoes to fitness to my fishing and BBQ Wood and BBQ tools. Usually has Ammo as well when I need it. This seemed like it was a new store but honestly they all look that way to me. Only thing I can ding them on in my hometown of San Antonio is its hard to get someone on the phone. Cant speak for this location...Love Academy!!

Always a great experience at this location with fairly priced items available. Staff is helpful when needed, I was approached by staff passing by or as I passed by asking if I needed any help or if I were looking for anything in particular. Some would probably be annoyed about that but I appreciate that from people in this type of employment. It shows they care about what they do and appreciate the job and its customers!

Overpriced, very uncomfortable but expensive tennis shoes that fell apart after the first 100 miles, but young, vivacious and friendly staff are very responsive and available. The place was deserted on a Saturday evening.

I was able to find me some steel toe shoes for a reasonable price. I love them my feet doesnt hurt there comfortable trust me. Will be back there to buy me another pair Asap

Yes its a great place to shop for a variety of things. However the customer service I received was very unprofessional and uncalled for. The older employee with the potty mouth that works the gun department needs a leave of absence without pay for being disrespectful toward me. I didnt appreciate it at all and the situation should be handled accordingly!

Was greeted at the entrance and asked if I needed any assistance. This store is clean, well organized, and the staff is friendly (towards each other and customers) and willing to assist with any shopping or pick-up issues/questions.

The service was very helpful. They asked if I needed assistance multiple times which is way better than none. Overall was a great experience. Ill definitely be back

The Academy Sports store in Shreveport is huge, and it offers a wide variety of merchandise. This particular store has a good selection, but there are a few items that are limited in color and style. But, overall, this store is a good place to shop for the avid sportsman.

I had stop by there and wanted to buy some gym pants. The young lady that was stocking the candy shelves was very helpful when I asks her for some help in choosing the pants.

Fishing lures are priced better than Bass Pro running low time to restock.

They have things there that other stores dont have. Anything related to sports is here! Including clothing for any sport. Its fun just to look at what they have.

This chain store has a department for every sport, each with a variety of name brands and an excellent selection within each of those. The lowest prices to boot and always good service. Employees are on the floor ready to help a customer.

The store was very clean. The staff that I encountered were quite friendly. I asked a gentleman (Pat), who seemed to be taking inventory on some items in the firearms and ammunition section, if he could tell me where to find the silicone rings that they used to carry. He stopped what he was doing and made eye contact with me and explained where they were located thoroughly. I found them with ease. Unfortunately, it seems that although they had several boxes on display...a number of them had been stolen and an empty box left hanging in its place. I dunno if this should be a redesign in packaging from the Qalo supplier or maybe a security device needed by the store. But I feel it speaks more to people than the store.

I liked the old store more than this one . Shoe set is nonsensical. Rather than put all mens and boys shoes in one general area and women and girls shoes in an adjacent area. They in their wisdom decided to mix all womens and mens sneakers in one area. Then mix men and womens casual shoes in another area. Work shoes mixed in another area. You have to go from one end of the store to the opposite end to see all the mens shoes. Same for women. Gun counter has been crowded into a small one way in and out corner. Less ammo than at the old store and less accessories. Color me not impressed.

I didnt but anything but the CSRs were really nice.

Academy Sports is one of my favorite places to get tennis shoes, sports wear, and everything you can think of for camping, fishing, and hunting.

I was beginning to get frustrated trying to buy a depth finder and there were no associates. I went to the grilling section and a guy helped me. I cant say enough good about this guy, awesome customer service.
