Beginner guitarist, here. I dropped off a guitar to be repaired today and stuck around for a couple of hours harassing the staff. They were extremely patient, friendly and knowledgeable. Most importantly, they seemed to be honest and straightforward. Will update after repairs.UPDATE: Guitar looks and sounds great! All of the electronics are fully functional again, frets polished and when they told me the final price over the phone, I thought they meant the quote plus the final price due to extra work. Nope! Got my work done, strings and a mini amp, all for about $200. Now, if only they could get the 1/8-1/4 adapter for headphones because I dont wanna go to Guitar Center.

Ive been a customer of Shreveport Music since I was a youngster. For more than 30 years now, Ive always been treated with respect and never once have I had a bad experience. The selection of merchandise is excellent and prices are on line with the rest of the market, sometimes lower than online. Greatest and only non chain music store in Shreveport. If youre looking for something a little different than a big box store, this is the place.I did try to put an amp on consignment here once. Whenever I returned they couldnt find the pedal that swaps channels on my amp. I returned to the store 4-5 months later and saw it on sale for $20. They wouldnt believe that it was mine even though they didnt have a single amp from that brand in their store.

One of the oldest music stores in America! Great people, much to look at and dream about. LOL Was looking for electric keyboards and drums! Found both for comparable prices to internet! I believe in shopping local if I can! I will be buying both products from Shreveport Music! Highly Recommend for service and inventory! Really knowledgeable and friendly employees!

I have been doing business with Shreveport Music (SM) for over 30 years. They have the best and complete stock that is second to none. The prices are fair and lower than most all their competitors stock. I found that the staff is professional, knowledgeable, helpful and VERY friendly. They maintain a complete stock and accessory inventory. I can guarantee that any NEGATIVE feedback is unjust and come into the store with a chip on their shoulder. I am a professional musician and can report that all the professional musicians will and can vouch for the business. If you plan on going to SM go with an open mind and make your own attitude about SM. What impresses me more than anything with SM is their music knowledge. I took my classical guitar in for a minor repair, and it was done in less than 20 minutes. Also, I took 4 kids under 10 years old in with me, just knowing we were going to be a nightmare for the staff,and no one batted an eye.

Staff was awesome. MY NIECES son found a great guitar.

Do NOT take old amplifiers to be repaired here!!!!! The lether on my 64 princeton was coming off the bottom and instead of Taking It Off, cleaning it, and gluing it on correctly. They take a stapler and staple it back on and give it back to me. And charge me 140 bucks.

Ive spent countles there! They have great equipment, and awsome bargains on used equipment too. The staff knows what theyre talking about too, they can answer all your questions and in case they dont have what your looking for they can help you order it.
