After reading multiple good reviews about this place We ordered a red velvet cake for a birthday! Must say I wasn’t happy for what we paid for! We paid 52$ for a cake and the taste was so disappointing! The look was beautiful but the taste was not what we expected! The buttercream was so sweet and the sponge super dense and stodgy! Would never recommend their red velvet cake to anyone!

Using the Bean Counter Bakery was one of the easiest wedding decisions we made! From the initial contact to the tasting to our actual day, Alice was so amazing to work with. They were so wonderful and flexible when we had to switch our wedding date due to the pandemic.They let us do multiple cupcake flavors and were so accommodating to our gluten free/dairy free guests. The cupcakes were AMAZING! Everyone commented on how delicious they were, which was telling by the fact that there were none left.Alice was always quick to respond, professional and a joy to work with. I would 100% recommend booking the Bean Counter Bakery for your wedding or any event!

I ordered a gender reveal cake after reading all of the great reviews for this company. After multiple back and forth calls about my order accurately being placed, they assured me they had the correct order. My doctor had to call multiple times to verify that they had the correct gender. After talking to the owner, I was told they did.Come day of the gender reveal party, with multiple family memebers traveling from different states, we cut the cake to find a WHITE inside, leaving us wondering whether we were having a girl or boy. I laughed. With the poor customer service I experienced throughout this process I was not surprised at all by this outcome.On the plus side…. at least they didn’t put the wrong color inside…

Ordered a cake for my hubby’s birthday, what I choose on the website was different from what the gave me. Cake tasted so bad I was better off going to market basket. Ended up throwing the whole cake out, even the kids didn’t eat the cake.

I found the Bean Counter on a few websites and chose them as our vendor for our wedding cake. We visited for a tasting, and the consultation was very nice - intimate, didnt feel rushed, and we had a chance to talk about style. The cake itself was amazing - all our guests loved it! We went with fondant, which comes at a premium, but it was well worth it for the clean design of the cake. If you send in a professional photo of your wedding cake, they mail you a certificate for a free cake on your one year anniversary - so you dont have to fuss with saving the top! Our like us, you can then downsize a bit, and get just enough cake for your guests instead of needing another tier! All in all, we were very satisfied with our experience. I might even say they were our easiest, most helpful and most efficient wedding vendor - they simply did what they were expected without being chased, what an odd concept!

I love the new location on Grove Street along with of course the highland street store and Shrewsbury store. The facilities I always find clean, with accessible parking.

I ordered croissants for a co-workers birthday, chocolate, plain and whole wheat. Even the whole wheat was AMAZING! I decided to go here again for my moms birthday cake, got a chocolate tuxedo cake. It is HEAVENLY!!! My husband got me a cake from Gerardos for my birthday, and it was very beautiful, but it wasnt nearly as delicious as Bean Counter. Definitely go here for your bakery needs!!

My husband and I arent even cake people but our cake was absolutely beautiful and delicious! Alice was great to work with - it is hard as the wedding approaches finalizing details and Alice took it upon herself to email our venue for a final guest count which we appreciated so much! We bought our own cake topper and had our florist provide cake flowers and our coordinator left all that on the cake table and Alice handled it all. We saved the top tier but on our first anniversary Alice will bake a fresh top tier for our anniversary!Alice and staff really know what they are doing and the cake was SO good!

We needed a baby shower cake 3 days before the shower and had heard great things about the Bean Counter!The owner, Alice helped us design the cake and made cupcake suggestions. I came into the bakery Monday, November 4. I Purchased several things two of them are for Thank you gifts. Just to let the person know I appreciate them. I also got a vegan cupcake for myself. I spoke to the woman behind the counter I specifically asked her about the chocolate chocolate cupcake. I asked her if it was like the one that I had had at the vegan fest in Worcester. She said well of course that’s the one, it the only one we have. When I had it at the vegan fest it was amazing I was very excited to have it again. It’s a treat! Very disappointed! I ordered vegan cupcakes for my toddler who’s allergic to dairy and nuts, and when I get there they don’t have my order and suggest I called the wrong place when I obviously know where I called, because they were the only place who had vegan cupcakes near me. I loved the espresso and coffee items Ive gotten here. The last two times the baked good we purchased from their display (cupcakes and tarts) had an off taste. Im not sure if it was a weird fridge taste but it permeated the outside of all the treats. My son would not even finish his which made me realize just how off putting it was. I think if you custom order a fresh cake you would be okay but I wont buy any baked goods from here in the future. Lattes were still great and the service was exceptional as always!

We went with Bean Counter for our wedding cake, because we heard fabulous things about them. I was honestly disappointed- the frosting was great but the cake was dry and airy. However, this is not the reason that I’m leaving my review. Alice, the owner of the bakery, was terrible with correspondence. I confirmed a meeting with her via email for the day before we had our tasting. She then showed up 40 minutes late, and then would not take responsibility for her mistake. She blamed us for it. The staff pretty much forgot we were there while we were waiting. We could’ve tasted the cakes before she arrived instead of wasting our time. I dealt with it because I was told so many great things, but in the end I would find someone else.

Surprised at the quality of the baked goods, cakes, and specialty coffees

Ive ordered cakes at the Bean Counter a few times, and I truly am a fan, but today my cake was not ready for pick up, and waiting 25 min. to get it done made me late for work, which unfortunately made the experience frustrating (and thats the reason for 4 stars vs. 5). The cake was obviously delicious, and I cant complain about the quality od their products, Ill just have to try and remember to call a day ahead next time and make sure my order will be ready the next day.I did get a discount on the cake for the trouble.

We had the White Chocolate, Raspberry Mousse cake for a bridal shower last weekend and it was a huge hit. Everyone raved about how moist and delicious the cake was. I was very happy with the cake and the friendly service. The Bean Counter uses quality ingredients hard to find now adays.

Had a custom cake made here and they did a fantastic job! The customer service was fantastic and kept in close touch with me in regards to what they were doing. I will absolutely use the bean counter for any further cakes that I may need in the future.

100% honest review.This place is an over priced and over glorified place, especially its Worcester locations. A friend of mine paid over $500 for a cake and 98% of the recipients wound up having food poisoning to the point the board of health was called...and they did nothing. There was no refund and the following day when she opened the fridge the cake was completely liquidfied. A friend of mine told me this happens when someone dumps a half bottle of apple cider vinegar in a cake mixture. Now why would u put that in a pumpkin cake. Perhaps the rookies should be fired. PS: the woman cutting the cake couldnt cut it, it still had hard plastic and cardboard in it.Its been a year, no one will return my friends calls. I think since the board of health was called an apology should be given with a FULL refund.A reputation is nothing...if word of mouth gets around. PS...these reviews can never be removed, no matter what

However, you can be refunded over $3k if you independently source you cake!There have been several Massachusetts weddings where they forgot to show up with the cake at the reception! Kept us waiting nearly an hour late for a set appointment for a wedding cake tasting despite us sitting right in front of the proprietor and her being notified of our arrival. Needless to say that didnt get us started off on the right foot, and it went downhill from there. Felt rushed during our appointment, because she was failing behind on her afternoon schedule I presume. A personal pet peeve is not showing respect for my time.Cakes were ok but a little too sweet and dry; not the amazing experience others had built us up for. We went with another vendor because we liked the taste better and their customer service was far superior. Wont do business with these folks, and recommend you keep your options open before settling on them as well. Dont believe the hype.

A gourmet coffee shop dedicated to meet the needs of caffeine addicts like me. First of all the ambiance is quaint.. Its like stepping back in time they way coffee shops were meant to be to service one customer at a time without be harried or hurried.Second the prices tend to be a little higher than traditional coffee establishments like ie; Dunkin, Starbucks, Honey Dew, and etc... Due in part by the handcrafted ingredients and also by the smaller cups of designer coffee being sold reflect the prices being passed on to the customer.Third...the shop is directly off of. Route 9 so location, location, location is 🔑 key to success. If you want to experience coffee nirvana this is the place to be...I highly recommend BEAN COUNTER COFFEE...☕🍵🍩
