11-2-21 Nick, Nick and Steve were out to repair our counter top and did a great job. They were very efficient and professional in their work. They identified the problem with the original installation and re installed the counter top.Thank you, Jon and Diane Paroubek8703 Blue Heron WayMentor, Ohio 44060
Fell in love with the samples of Eternia leathered Clifton samples at several stores which showed a beautiful consistent gray color. What we received yesterday was heartbreaking. Dark stains in some areas and large areas that look bleached. Devastated.
UPDATE: Granex contacted me and sent a different person to fix the mistake. I am MUCH happier with the end result. I have attached a photo below. I still feel this never should have happened in the first place, but they did fix the original hack job and made it much more presentable. I really appreciated the technician, Brad, who came out. He understood my issues and came up with acceptable solutions. I give him a 5+.Recently had Granex install a countertop and sink in a bathroom. I have used this company in the past and will never use again or recommend. First the installer put the countertop in with a chip along the back side that was exposed. They came out, tried to repair by glopping on more caulk. They ended up removing the countertop and filing down the chip and reinstalled. You can still see the flaw - its about 97% perfect. However, when something is not my mistake, I expected them to fix it completely. Another issue I had was how they secured the sink to the cabinet - as you can see in the photo. The installer said that he had difficulty using clips due to the size of the sink. Keep in mind, that Granex came out and MEASURED before the countertop and sink were fabricated. The workmen measured three times! Nothing changed from when they measured to when the countertop was installed. If there was and issue, it should have been brought to my attention IMMEDIATELY. Now I get to look at this hack job every time I open the cabinet doors.
10/6/2021Just wanted to add that Granexs attorney came to our home today with someone the attorney said is an expert. That expert said that the chip we mentioned was not actually a chip, and instead was the result of “rounding work” on a corner. We are therefore editing the review to remove the mention of the chip (please disregard the chip photo), but we stand by the remainder of our comments. Due to the character limit, adding this statement forced us to remove a couple of paragraphs from our original review.9/6/2021We used Granex to cut, hone, and install granite kitchen countertops. Our countertops have horizontal and vertical scratches, unfinished and/or ragged edges, rough grit all over the surface, on and on. The installation also was horrible: sloppy silicone application, leveling tabs stuck in with no other support (one left hanging several inches out into the room!), jagged cuts in our brand new kitchen cabinets, crooked trim, a crooked peninsula, and more. These issues are not just aesthetic; theyre also challenging to live with. For example, its close to impossible to open one drawer because Granex installed a rough wooden leveling chip on top of the drawer frame rim instead of on top of the cabinet! Random contractors working in our kitchen have commented on how awful the installation was.We repeatedly asked Granex to finish a new slab properly, remove the faulty countertops, and then correctly install the new countertops. They refused. Instead, they wanted to remove the current faulty countertops, refinish them, and then reinstall them. It is common industry knowledge that removing granite countertops after installation typically damages and weakens them, resulting in cracks as time passes. We did not contract with Granex to purchase a damaged product that might develop cracks down the line. Instead, we purchased a virgin slab of granite to be fabricated correctly, like the sample they gave us, and installed properly.Early on, Granex offered to refinish the countertops inside our home--this was also unacceptable to us, as handheld machines cannot replicate the finish of large machines in a shop, and it would pose a dangerous health hazard in our home, due to all the stone dust.Granexs awful fabrication and installation have caused us not only stress, but also the loss of significant time and money, as well as the delay of completion of our kitchen by months. We have had to pay a contractor to remove their substandard countertops and we will pay to obtain new ones. Other contractors, such as a plumber, have now been delayed, and we have to pay for multiple visits. We are including a few representative photos. In our opinion, Granex seems interested only in the cheapest route possible if something goes wrong, not in making things right with customers unless the customer fights endlessly for help. Along those lines, look at the other review by the woman who posted about the rough wood stuck under her sink; she had to struggle to get it fixed, when the truth is that such a sloppy job should never have been done in the first place. Parts of our countertop installation look similar to her pictures--as if they were done by junior high shop students in their first week of class.
We had a very negative experience with Granex of Solon. The company made multiple mistakes, all of which led to delays of our renovation, and in the end our brand-new countertop was cracked in two places. Granex insisted our contractor had damaged it, and offered to repair for it for $400. If you are looking for a hassle-free experience, this is not your company. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
They did a great job with the stone I heavily recommend it.
I have been using this company professionally for 8 years and have never had a job that wasnt finished to both mine or my clients expectations. I have been in the kitchen and bath remodel business for a long time and Granex sets the bar when it comes to Template, fabrication and installation of all types of stone countertops. Highly recommended!
Did an amazing job would recommend them to anyone.
Talent, performance, customer service, outreach. Granex for me is a customer and a dear friend ready to do the impossible.
We posted a review last month describing some issues we had with this company. Recently, the company stood up for their error and made things right by us. We are satisfied that things will be addressed and taken care of properly so this wont happen again. We have not been able to Modify or Deleate the original post. We would like to say that Granex has responded to our complaint, in a pretty quick time as well, and we give them high praise for that - something other companies may not have done. Our Thanks to the management.Innovative Builders
Wonderful responsible talented company, ready to deliver high quality in every project.
Always my 1st stop for stone. Tons of options, both full slabs and remnants. And their templating and installing is the best. I highly recommend.
Seriously the finest people for stone anything!
Very disappointed! They mounted my faucet off center of the window. Made an appointment to have someone come back but they never showed up. Apparently they cant make house calls after 4 or on weekends either. I dont recommend Granex.
Jeff at Granex hooked me up! I was originally thinking corian but Jeff really took the time to show me the benefits of granite! Thanks team!
