Close, you get almost everything you could want and cheaper than your big grocery stores. Good place if you like to make Indian food nd need ingredients that are not easy to find.

Well arranged. One can find Indian grocery. The items are good.

Lanes between aisles are narrow and the carts are just small enough to let one pass...boxes to refill are kept in aisles and not moved around..so pretty inconvenient to move when shopping.. didnt see any sale items or deals. They do have a good frozen section though..no ashoka brand products.

We just go here for their fresh/hot snacks. Our fav is their veg puffs and samosas. But even the Mirchi Bhajiya and Wada are really good. Wish they sold fresh tea :)

Well priced, well stocked, great variety and clean Indian store.They carry their own brand of pulses and dry fruits too. Their private branded stuff is equally priced as compared to other brands like Deep, Laxmi etc. I believe the quality of their private brand is pretty good.They carry a great variety of Indian flavoured ice creams, Indian breads, Indian stuffed breads, frozen kebabs, chicken etc. They carry fresh vegetables as well.We think its slightly better priced as compared with their competitors like Patidar in Hillsborough.I think Indian stuff is usually priced anyways. However, this store is the best option if you are far from Edison and do not want to go there for Indian shopping. I like going to this store and enjoy all their products except one thing, where I am very disappointed, they sell expired spoiled Pooja Coconuts. It is very sad to buy one for upcoming Pooja and realize it is all spoiled inside and have to run for another store to get a fresh one. I got one really fresh one at Wegmans, which saved my Pooja. Guys, please don’t sell spoiled coconuts labeling them as Pooja coconuts, throw them away. You are already making money with other products, don’t spoil someone’s auspicious initiatives or worship of God. I bought the “good” one out of 10-12 pooja coconuts and still it turned out to be the bad one. I can share photos and receipt if you have any questions.

Reasonable place for Indian groceries. Not costly as Patel brothers.Found lentils, Rice etc to be good quality. Wheat flour bags are $2-3 costlier than costco. Basimati and Sona masuri rice as well.Veggies are limited selection than Patidar. But good quality.Never buy these from here: any fruits, coconut, pomogranate esp.

We stopped in here to see what a star bizarre story has to offer and picked up a few things for which werent even specifically looking.Stewart is very well organized and related. Theres no bulk displays blocking your pathways like some other stores. They have a nice selection of snacks although I couldnt find my favorite Foxnuts (a popcorn like snack) That Ive been able to find another Indian markets.I was surprised to see jackfruit sold by the slice here. Something Im sure some fighting is very useful when you dont need a whole jackfruit for a recipe.As weve noticed in other Indian markets, there are rice selection is quite varied and they sell large bags.I would have liked to see baskets instead of just shopping carts however, as just picking up a few items can become a balancing act trying to carry them.

Star bazaar is really a star for those peoples who always need help to do grocery shopping all staff are very helpful and very nice very fresh vegetables and really nice environment that girl who stand at the first counter she is really nice girl and also very talkative I always go at her counter I really like to do my grocery shopping from this store Vivek patel the manager he is also very helpful all staff are very nice so I highly recommended this place

ABSOLUTELY AVOID this place due to the ultra rude staff, I went to this store to buy some Indian stuff and accidentally dropped something, they forced me to buy it and said you can’t even exchange it, I had to buy it and then trash it. No store in America would do such a thing. They were constantly talking in some other language in front of me probably abusing me or mocking me. The store also has no sanitizers and zero social distancing policy. Also they snatched an extra bag from my my elderly parents because the items were too heavy. There is one young lady in specific who has zero manners. Many items are also expired so please check if you make a mistake of visiting the store as they don’t exchange or return anything.Update #1You can also see by their reply and judge them yourself because in the first sentence theyre saying that I hid and Im responsible for the item but in the second sentence theyre saying they wanted to give me credit, I also told them that I simply did not want to buy because it was dropped by mistake and they rudely forced me that I must buy it, I didnt have time to argue so I took the item and trashed it. Also they simply accept that they were speaking in some other language in front of me, so respectful!

I always like the Indian grocery store in Somerset. They are well stocked, organized and reasonably priced. Parking can be bit of a pain because of less space. Be careful while getting in and out as it is right on the Easton Ave, and that road has heavy traffic going in and out of I-287N/S

Usually my go to place, but kind of annoyed that for people who don’t wear gloves get kicked out. It’s not state law where you have to wear gloves but a mask is understandable. I am a professional health care worker, I know what I am doing, don’t turn away costumers for not wear gloves because it’s not required! Well I am glad to know your doing so much for health care workers! I don’t think you would want to be turned down if you were sick! And also don’t kick elderly people out either it’s rude!!!! And disrespectful! And also there were so many people the walked in and walked out without gloves!

Over priced initially, not enough variety because it would cater to Guju diet and wasnt organized. But now its been much better, cleaner looking and variety is there as far as brands. It would be nice to see other Indian grocers in the area as well as more information on their website.

Sometimes they have better prices than other indian stores, sometimes worse, but always they have what Im looking for. Some of the fresh produce is not in good condition sometimes, other times its fine. Great placement of the store also, couldnt be happier. Wish they didnt have a minimum for card though, its very irritating.

Nothing was organized, employees, didnt speak English, were not helpful. Check out lady also did lot speak English, everything we asked her she had to ask the supervisor. Prices on the produce were different when we went for checkout did not have the time to argue with the lady at check out who already did not speak English and did not know anything.

I am going to be honest and say that I grew up in a home where String Bean Almondine was considered exotic. The sights and smells of the Star Bazaar market are not something that I can adequately assess. That said, this review is not aimed at those from the many cultures and traditions of the vast Indian subcontinent, but for those, like me, that have a recipe that calls for something not normally found in our pantry.The Star Bazaar seems well stocked, and, based on the number of customers in the store, it would seem many people would agree. I was specifically looking for three items which I sought in a couple of places prior to getting to Star Bazaar, but which hadnt been available, and they had two of the three. The remaining item, I believe, would be more likely to be found in a Middle Eastern shop.Star Bazaar is large, clean, and well stocked. The staff was helpful, although I did have some difficultly communicating, but that was my fault, because I couldnt explain what I was looking for. Parking is good, and the location is very convenient. Produce looked fresh, and the staff was very active in updating and rotating stock. I thought the prices were very competitive.For me Star Bazaar is a great find: there are a number of fine ethnic restaurants in the area, and I find Indian cuisine most interesting. There are those of us who try a dish and would like to replicate that dish, but need some help in getting the ingredients together. Star Bazaar helped me in finding most of my things. Try it, Im sure you wont go away disappointed.

We have been shopping all Indian grocery here for the past 6 months. Once we started buying here we didn’t think of a different option. All items are very well organized in different racks and vegetables are fresh as well. I recommend this Indian Grocery Store to all locals in and around Somerset, Piscataway and Franklin township.

Shop here frequently. Forgot my wallet but had my debit card. I only needed a few produce items and I explained this to employment as soon as I walked in. They would NOT let me buy unless it was cash. Then they spoke to each other in Indian language, of course about an American who cant understand. God Bless America!

Please avoid going to this store or purchase online, I use to see people adulterate the pulses in India by adding some small stones, but recently when we bought pigeon peas(Toor dal) it looked quite normal like Toor dal only, later when I cooked I found there were some different type of pulses appeared in the Dal which were long in size compare to regular dal, I was quite annoyed to eat them, seems like these people taking advantage from people, please grow up guys even after started living in this country, I wonder how come you have such a cheap mentality.I would also ask food safety -department to check their products.

Large store with lots of items. Good location. All items I bought so far are good except for sweets from the fridge which were rotten. Luckily my husband took a bite and spat it out before I served it to my kids. It was fully fermented and gone off.

Good Indian store with a decent collection. Not so easy to spot though but you wont be disappointed because their collections are good. Wish they can put some nice Hindi songs here. Sometimes the continuous vedic chants is a little too much on the ears.

Great place to find authentic Indian spices and pantry items such as reasonably priced bulk rice and beans. They also have a variety of fresh produce and yummy cold and frozen convenience foods (multiple brands of samosas, naan, yogurt, lassi, etc.) And dont forget to pick up a delicious warm samosa at the front of the store before you head out!

The perfect place to find a lot of middle eastern and Indian food supplies. Also they have some kinds of halal fast food like delicious sammosa.😋

The store is good but the parking lot is a disaster. Getting in and out of it is a disaster. They do have a rewards card if you plan on shopping here frequently.
