I went here a few months ago to get my exhaust system replaced. The actual replacement took about a week longer than they originally estimated and the communication during that time was awful. My car has not run like it used to since they replaced the exhaust system. I ended up bringing it back a week later and they tried to change my oil to “fix” the problem. The oil change was $10 more than they quoted me and it didn’t fix the problem that started after they worked on my car the first time. I regret bringing it here in the first place.

Traveling and had an unexpected brake issue! Only in town for the day so time was critical! These guys took care of us and got us back on the road with little down time. Didn’t miss much that was planned on our trip! These guys are very professional and we greatly appreciate how well they took care of us!

I am not a fan of car repair shops bc I usually don’t have the most favorable experiences! This changed on June 9, 2021 when I went to Midas to have my AC evaluated. Everyone was AMAZING! Courtney has the patience of a saint and answered all of my questions when i called to schedule. Every person was very friendly, professional, compassionate and HONEST! My car specialist actually had me look under my car at what the wiring problems were before he fixed them. He also gave me options with respect to my finances. I am a convert Midas! Thank you!

I had an excellent experience here today after my car battery died and it took several tries to jump it I was told I would likely need a new battery so I brought it here. The mechanic checked it out first and diagnosed the problem as simply a weak connection and told me I didnt need a new battery. They fixed the problem free of charge! Overall a great experience.

I messed up my appointment time and showed up late, which was entirely my fault. But they were very understanding and still managed to get my appointment done. While sitting in the waiting room, I have to say I am impressed with every interaction. Very honest and straightforward, while really making an effort to make sure everything is right for the customer. Seems like a good crew, I will be back for sure.

Bought my Toyota in for the repair. They quote me for $1400 (parts) and $420 labor. I have no issues paid for the labor costs. After got home, I did some research on the parts they order. Turn out, the parts they order for me is 25%-50% more than Toyota dealer charge. Feel like they pocket some money for the parts they order for me. Never come here again.

We have used the South Burlington Midas for years. They are a great group of people to deal with; honest and straight forward. We highly recommend them!

Despite not having an appointment at Midas, a friendly scheduling staff rearranged several items and fit us in to determine why our minivan was clunking and shuddering horribly. We, 1400 miles from our home in Minnesota, are deeply grateful that the Midas staff in Burlington, Vermont, were able to repair our vehicle in a timely, professional, and affordable way.

Easy enough to say no, but I do have the need, and it usually would take weeks to get an appointment somewhere. Connected with Midas for an oil change, recommended by a former student, who is also a satisfied customer. They took me in quickly and based on the fact that I had to wait there- being from out of the area.The staff was professional, friendly, helpful without being patronizing, which was and is appreciated. Did a diagnostic, and found a few minor issues, which I also appreciated.I will be going back to address those.Covid19 makes things a bit more difficult, but the staff was very accommodating- so, felt safe, but not overwhelmed.Everything was neat and clean.My car is happy and so am I.Thank you!

This Midas is AWESOME!!!I walked in late in the afternoon after being told by a pedestrian that our back brake light was out. Because we arent near our home, I wanted to fix it before my long drive. Not only did Adam come out to see what was wrong right away, he gave a fair price and he performed the light switch out quickly and effectively with a friendly and kind demeanor. I came here to get a flat tire replaced, and I happened to come in at a busy time. The shop was about to close, but a technician stayed late to change my tire. It took about twenty minutes total, and the staff was so kind. They helped walk me through what was happening, and were very pleasant the entire time. The waiting area was clean and had good seating and a variety of hot drinks available. As a bonus, my AAA membership made my visit completely free. These guys will nickle and dime you for everything that they can, and they will try to sell you work your car does not need like rear brakes when it only needs the front done. Their prices are also very high, no real difference between just going to the dealership. I gave them 3 stars because they will complete the repairs properly, but I recommend you go elsewhere.

I brought a car in for a pre purchase inspection. The technician there said that the brakes would 100% fail a Vermont State Inspection. The car only had 23k miles on it. I took a picture of the repair order and the brake pads. They will be attached. BUNCH OF SNAKES IN THE GRASS! Wanted 700 bucks to replace brakes on a Hyundai sedan. CROOKS. I am going to report them to the Atty General for price gouging during a crisis.

Dropped my car off first thing in the morning for an oil change. Ive been to many Midas with the same car and this one in Burlington is by far the best. I asked if they could also just do a quick once over so I could get a better understanding of any work that would need to be done. They came back with detailed pictures of the under carriage to show me what they found and explained what work should be done in the future. I appreciated seeing actual pictures of the problems instead of being told what is wrong (since every mechanic says something different). The staff was also very friendly.

I went in on a Friday morning with a really low back tire. I didnt have an appointment and the lobby was full of people waiting for their cars being serviced and there was a person at the counter. I thought I was going to be turned away but when I explained why I was there they told me they would take a look at it.I took my seat and waited, bracing myself to buy a new tire or at the worst buy whole new set. A while later the gentleman at the counter motioned me up, and told me they had found a screwing my tire that I must have driven over sometime the day before. He explained how they took the tire off the rim to seal it properly and replace it on the rim before balancing it. It was all fixed. I waited for the bill and when none came I asked for it. The gentleman told me there was no bill; that is a service they provide for free.I had taken my car to Burlington Subaru on Shelburne for an oil change last month and would have had to pay $30 extra for a safety check. To be told my tire was fixed for free and my car was safe to drive was completely shocking. And, no attempt was made to hustle me into scheduling any other service.I recommend Midas Auto Service without reservation!

Brought my newly purchased used car in to get inspected. I was unable to get my car registered because the Dmv is closed due to the pandemic. These guys charged me for turning off the check engine light which they were unable to diagnose. After this they told me I couldnt get inspected due to non registration.As a professional establishment and a place I have been going to regularly I would hope they would have informed me of this issue before doing the work on my car. Now in addition to wasting my time, if the light comes back on before I can get registered then I will end up paying somone again to have the issue handled once more.I will be bringing my business to other places.

Went in for a tire change over and was told one of my tires couldnt be put on legally by them.They said I could get away with one new one but the tired wouldnt all match and so I bought 2 new tires. They didnt try to sell me something I didnt need. My daughters car went in for the same thing and needed 2 new tires and I asked if I should just buy 4 and was told not necessary because the other 2 were like new.

Polite. Accurately told me the process for getting my brake pads and rotors replaced. Friendly and professional and earlier than promised at each stage. Explained everything and answered each question I had.

My daughters car sprung a separated pipe from the rear muffler. Stopped in w/out an appt & their shuttle took me to work. Vehicle was repaired same day, reasonable cost($400), and conditions to PU after their normal hrs. were all worked out. Very satisfied!

They are super helpful here. I used to drive a Saturn and when it broke down they managed to find the parts and fix the car in a reasonable amount of time. They also have a shuttle service so they can drive you home after you drop off your car.

Had my oil changed here on a car only three years old. When I went back to change my oil at another location a few months later, I found out that these guys had overtightened my drain plug, and I had been leaking oil through the plug itself. Super non-professional, will never go to a Midas shop again.

Took my car in for an undercoating, and they inspected my car (which I didnt ask for). They told me my ball joint had some play and needed to be replaced. Of course they had the part on hand and it would cost $150. Took it to my mechanic the next day and nothing was wrong with it. So glad I didnt wast my money on an unnecessary repair. Thanks a lot for making me waste my money to have my mechanic tell me nothing was wrong. Kyle was the guy at Midas who lied about my car. Hoping to save someone else time and money that I couldve.

Overall my previous experiences with Midas have been pleasant. In the past theyve provided excellent service and straight forward answers when Ive brought my vehicle in for maintenance.I recently made an appointment for my vehicles state inspection and decided to drop the vehicle off in the event they could get to it sooner than the scheduled appointment. Unfortunately they couldnt and they said I would be the first vehicle the next morning which I was completely fine with. For my patience I was told I would receive a coupon or some type of courtesy for the wait. I received my vehicle diagnosis all of which came back as expected but I had a license plate light out and was told I would fail inspection unless I had the light fixed. No sweat. I had a new bulb in my center console and had just recently replaced one that had gone out. I understand that LABOR costs money but dont tell me that theres a panel that needs to be removed and its a process when I just recently did it myself in mere seconds. $20 dollars to install a bulb that pops out with a flat head is ridiculous. To end it all I didnt receive said coupon and they left my previous states inspection sticker on the windshield and I had to ask them to take it off. Nice follow through Midas Nickel & Dime of South Burlington.

For a commercial auto shop they arent so bad. They are very friendly and relatively honest and if they mess up somehow they will make it right. But they often try and scare you into paying for more work that could be done but isnt always necessary.Somehow something extra ALWAYS has to be done to my car when I bring it to Midas. Id suggest getting a second opinion before having any work done that you didnt originally plan on.

I recently moved here and was super stressed about finding a new mechanic. I came here on a recommendation from a friend who had nothing but good things to say and they did not disappoint! First, once they do the diagnostic of you car they send you a text with details of what is all good, what could use some work, and what definitely needs to get done. Pictures are attached of the parts that need to be fixed immediately. Then a mechanic comes out to speak with you and go through that info with you. Kyle was honest, answered all of my questions and made me feel confident that my car was in good hands. Second, I initially went in for an oil change, but the car needed other work done that was going to take 3 hours. Not only did Mark drive me home, but also picked me up when the car was ready. Highly recommend. Thanks so much guys!

I had a 4 tire, winter to summer, changeover and a full synthetic oil/filter change here. Excellent service and was in and out in just over an hour. I was warned at another tire shop that I would have to pay for a TPMS reset when I changed my tires. The service manager told me that since the TPMS light was not on then therell be no charge ($50 if I recall) as the TPMS reset was not needed, very honest of him. I also overheard him telling a customer to call the dealer to fix her brake issue as it should be covered under warranty based on her milage, this was unexpected but a good sign that the service manager is honest with customers. Id go back here for service based upon my good experience here.

First time at Midas, and I need something fixed in order to have it inspected. Eric took great care of me and brought me out to show me the issue and a few other things to keep in mind that I will need to have fixed in future months. Susan was welcoming and pleasant on the phone, and quick to find an appointment that suited my schedule. I would recommend!

Out of town for a work meeting and my coolant hose opened up in the middle of traffic...two hours from home. Stopped in hoping they could help. They were busy and booked but still managed to accommodate me as quickly as they were able. They even had a great for my pooch who definitely wasnt planning on a waiting room adventure that evening. Really appreciated the friendly, thorough service and staff.

The staff was very friendly and easy to do business with. My service was done promptly, and the courtesy shuttle arrived quickly once I called the driver. The price for the service was also quite reasonable, compared with other mechanics. I would highly recommend Midas to anyone!

I stopped at a local pet food store on my way home from skiing only to discover my front tire was completely flat. Managed to pump with enough air to get to Midas who told me if I was there by 3:45 (Sat) they would take care of it for me. I pulled in around 3:30 and was all set by 4:15. Theyve been my taking care of me and my 2006 Honda for a few years now and each experience has been a good one!

Recently had a very difficult time removing and changing my license plates as I didnt have the right tools. After calling ahead, I was able to show up and immediately receive help to remove the plates. I was helped by Kyle and not only did he do everything to help me (with something that isnt generally asked of Midas mechanics) but he did not charge me. It was very helpful and a great experience.

Kyle treated us very well. He was attentive and quick to help. We were on the beginning of a trip planning to be away for 4 months. Midas was very busy and it was raining. We were driving a SUV packed to the max for a trip from PA to ME with a rear brake light out! Kyle had us on our way in minutes.

Went for an oil change. Oil change for under 30 dollars total/ at check out. Nice clean waiting room with toys: played with my daughter. They were crazy busy, but the staff was happy, smiled a lot, relaxed feeling, friendly and not overbearing.Overheard a staff comp a guys oil chamge because they were taking longer than expected and he seemed happy. Will be doing all oil changes here from now on!

I really like the review that they do. Its a great review of all the problems that could affect my inspections in the future. I went in for a muffler fix and was able to have the inspection done at the same time. They are very helpful and positive. I will be going there from now on for all my repairs.

It is hard to find a repair shop that you can trust, does great work, has good prices, will install parts that you provide, has a shuttle, and that you can get in to see quickly. I went to Midas, South Burlington, VT to get my winter tires mounted on my Range Rover Sport. Had 25000 miles on my all season tires. I ordered them from tire rack and Midas was the recommended installer. They damaged my all season tires. One of the tires sidewall was slit open during the switch. They told me that they were going to order a tire with the same tread and can store all the other tires for me.I got an appointment few days ago to get the all season tires mounted. They confirmed that the tire they ordered is available. I waited almost an hour in the store before they told me that the tire is not in a good shape and will order another one. Left the place extremely disappointed.So finally last week Friday I got the tires mounted. Five days later one of the tires blew out on my driveway. I was not driving and there was no sign of any low pressure. This happened all of a sudden. To my surprise there is a slit on the sidewall on this tire as well. So I went back to Midas and they told me its not their responsibility to take care of this. I am very sure its their mistake. This might have happened when they initially damaged one of my all season tire . They dont want to take any responsibility and all the manger offered me was ordering another tire with the same tread. I have to pay for it!Honestly, if tire rack didnt mention this place as their recommended installer I wouldnt have gone there.I am a physician and they were not at all responsible or understanding to all the inconvenience and damage they caused. Had to take days off from work just to take care of all the mess they did.In a way I was lucky that the blow out happened on the driveway and not the interstate.So finally, they ordered a tire with same tread which I paid for. Its a previously punctured tire which was patched.Had 4 excellent all season range rover installed tires before I went to Midas and now I have two patched tires. Its all because of their excellent work.

I come here for my oil changes and inspections and the staff is always professional and lets me know if I need additional work. They are courteous and always take the time to explain what my cars need. I usually wait and Im always surprised by how short the waiting time is by comparison to other places Ive been. Price-wise, I feel like Im getting my moneys worth. Theyre usually lower than competitors.

Great people here - they have reasonable rates (unlike Essex Automotive) and will do only the work authorized. Had oil change done and asked them to check the battery as my warning light had come on. Even though the battery was nearly on its last legs, they didnt pressure me to replace it right then. I ultimately went to them for battery replacement for this reason. You cant go wrong with these folks - some of the best in the area. Definitely will recommend them to others.

Walked in the door at 10 for a 10 oclock appointment. Car didnt get taken in until 1045. Car came out of Bay at 12. All that time for having four winter tires switched over. Unacceptable

Had to get an alignment done on my truck. Set my appointment for 10am. The staff was friendly, and they got my truck in right away. I asked how long it would take, not to be rude but wanted to get a haircut in between time. They said an hour. 11am I return with a fresh haircut and my truck was rolling right out of the shop. That was fast and precisely on time. I was in and out in under an hour and the staff was great. Go here for service!

I have been going to this Midas for oil changes and other routine maintenance matters for about 3 years. The staff are always extremely polite and take the time to explain any work they feel my car needs. They even let me go see my cars condition to help me better understand my car and stay safe. In the three years Ive been in the area with my car (during college and now post grad), this has been my go-to garage for peace of mind.
