Horrible customer service. Waited for 25 mins for a bagel with egg and cheese while other people were in and out within 5 mins with the same order. Place is chaotic and no one in charge to keep it in order. The girl making my bagel wasn’t wearing a mask, and the girl running the register was wearing a mask but had a horrible cough. When there’s a pandemic going on and you have a bad cough stay home.
Was on hold for 6mins, then told pick up orders need to be paid for - no cash accepted. 🤦♂️This is a bagel place, not a 5 star restaurant. With lack of parking space and busy wait times, what honest place doesnt accept phone in orders unless they get your money first?DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY on this place.
Reliable bagels. Wait time on the weekends is quite long so best to order online ahead for pickup.
Best bagel I ever hadThe sweet heat was amazing. Top notch and filling breakfast
Arguably the best bagels around. This has been my go to bagel place for many years but unfortunately its now become everyones and they need to get a better handle on their ordering system. If youre getting so many orders that the average wait time is 30 minutes for a bagel, maybe put a limit on online ordering? Or just turn it off on the busiest days like other places do. Ive recently started going elsewhere because of how insanely long the wait is.
One of the newer bagel spots in town, but absolutely serving up solid bagels and sammys. I was a die hard BBB / Meyers guy for years, but was pleasantly surprised when I went here on my last visit. Great stuff, but be sure to order ahead or get there early to beat the crowds!
My bagel sandwich made my morning. The coffee was also delicious and I was grateful for both the dairy and non-dairy options available to cool it down. The staff there was great!
I’ve been going here for years, but every time it’s the same thing. Simple orders take over half an hour to finish. Do not go here if you are looking for a quick stop to grab breakfast.
Tasty bagel. Nice store and friendly staff. Lots of choices and everything tasted fresh.
Liked this place, delicious bagel and reasonably priced - hope this comments help others .
6:30amish for my first visit to The Bagel Place. It was clear they were more focused on the pick up orders, which is fine, but you would think the in person folks would be the focus if only for 20 seconds. Bagel wasnt toasted and it did not have the hard outer shell in which all New York Style should have regardless of toasting or not. They are open at 6am so they do cater to early risers like myself, but not blown away. Ill try pick up next time in hopes to get a toasted bagel...;) Here is a snowman to brighten your day.
Buffalo cheese bagel and veggie cream cheese was delicious. The honest tea was a great accompaniment. Thumbs up for a cool quick breakfast spot.
Staff is always friendly, bagels are always awesome. Usually pretty busy at certain parts of the morning but the line moves quick.
The bagels are probably the best around, but the waits are awful. Even with only a couple of people in the restaurant, prepare to wait 15 minutes for a bagel with cream cheese to come out. Pre-Covid, this would be a 5 but they lost a lot of their efficiency.
They were out of salt bagels by 10 am :( I picked up an online order and didnt know they were out of salt bagels until I got there. Otherwise, the experience was decent, save for slow-ish customer service. Not much to write home about.
People are always hyping this place up, I really don’t see what the big deal is. The bagels are okay, they’re much better at Burlington Bagel Bakery or Myer’s. The sandwich I got was pretty cold and the instructions were not followed by the person making it. Hash browns are literal cardboard- wouldn’t recommend. McDonald’s is right across the street, probably better given the what the expectations are and what you actually get.
Phenomenal jalapeno ok bagel with us Mexican Cream Cheese
Some of the best breakfast sandwiches Ive ever had.
Ive tried this place twice. First time was an online order with a wait time of an hour and a half. Second time I thought maybe the counter would be faster, and they completely messed up the order. Would not recommend.
Came in for lunch. They had maybe five kinds of bagels available behind the counter. I asked for a turkey guacamole bagel plain and toasted. They did not toast the bagel and it was stale. the guacamole was barely there it was more like if you asked for very little mayonnaise. All in all. Pretty bad
I have been coming here for breakfast more often now! The bagels are fresh, packed with flavor and delicious! There is a range of prices and bagels for most people’s budgets and they even sell REALLY good cinnamon rolls at the register! Every single bagel I have tried at The Bagel Place has been satisfying and the staff has been very friendly and personable. My personal favorite bagel used to be the chocolate chip bagel (which they have sadly discontinued) with honey walnut cream cheese. Recently, they began giving people the honey walnut cream cheese on the side instead of in the bagel for allergy-related reasons which was understandable but definitely made it more difficult to grab the bagel when I am on the go. Overall though, this is definitely a spot for the foodies out there.
Fantastic! Friendly staff and delicious bagels. A dozen day olds are a steal at $2.99. I highly reccomend the sriracha sweet heat bagel. I would include a photo, but its genuinely so delectable that I always forget to take a picture before I absolutely devour the thing. A must visit for breakfast in Burly.
This place is the best, especially Mike and his team. He’s kind, funny, caring, always working with a smile, and leading a whole team of great people to genuinely do the same. I’ve been coming here for three years and I am always so happy to see how much fun the team is having while somehow making a never ending stream of bagel sandwiches at breakneck speeds and somehow getting our orders right every time.I order some complicated sandwiches as well and change it up on the regular. Perfect every time none the less.My family even has a bagel shop back in NYC, so I‘ve seen the pressure that goes into running a busy shop, and these amazing folks are just wonderful every time. 15/10 recommend :D
We have historically loved this place. We would always get a bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel; however, the last 4 times we have been these bagels have been very disappointing. They are not fully cooked and are too doughy. It’s sad but we have now realized we rather get bagels from the grocery store and make our own. Also, the bacon is less thick now which is never a good thing.UPDATE: The owner reached out to me directly so that they could improve. It was a great gesture. We havent been back in yet but we will be soon! This Bagel Place is one of our favorites.
Some of the best bagels in Vermont. They have a wide variety of bagel types and cream cheeses, as well as both breakfast and lunch sandwiches and bagels. The staff is always great and it’s always clean. Their baked goods are always delicious as well. Definitely worth it to buy your bagel and go somewhere else to eat as it’s always quite crazy in here.Definitely recommend to anyone in the area if you don’t mind waiting 5-10 minutes for a bagel!
Bagels are always very good. Best place around for taste wise. Service was horrible today. Very rude and not helpful. Wish there was a manager there to speak with. Not sure if the bagels will bring me back this time. Update your staff and your business would be killer. EDIT: check your order before you leave. Just got home and bagels are wrong.
Clearly understaffed and unprepared. Out of Montreal spice bagels and no iced coffee on a scorching day. Had to wait 20 min for a bagel
This place is always booming on a Saturday and Sunday morning! Very good bagels and service. Best in the Burlington area in my opinion.
This place is beyond yummy. I swear it beats top notch restaurants. We searched everywhere in Burlington for a December place that offered omelets, pancakes etc. We originally chose a close by place but it was shack like and along wait. We ended up driving out to this place and waited for 10 min in line. I got a pesto veto burger with eggs. My taste buds were on buzzing with taste! Would def recommend and come here again.
Love their fresh strawberry cream cheese w/real strawberries! Was there Sat. 9am ordered a dozen & 4 cream cheeses, had to wait 15 mins? It wasnt that crowded. Hadnt been here in a year & I had cash & the sign saying cash only was just in front of the register so I didnt see it until I had ordered so that was a drag. Then they have a container for tips with a bunch of Dollar bills in it! So they can touch that money? The bagels were sadly, a little hard for that time of day, ya cant expect everyone to get there at 7am on a SAT. Arent you baking all day? I usually love the bagels here, just had to pop them in the microwave to get them a little soft.
The food is great, the staff is great as well (even if a little distracted sometimes). The only thing they could improve is their coffee selection but they are right nextdoor to Starbucks so its okay!
Not so good bagels. They did not taste fresh, they are similar to a soft Thompson bagel that youd get in a grocery store. I also really wish they had a large thermos of half n half for their coffee. Not a fan of the little plastic sealed cups that make a mess.
Great food, great bagel sandwiches. Be warned: theres usually a decent wait, not because of staff- they have a packed line of staff working, but because its so good that everyone wants to eat there!
Great bagel...try the triple double 👏🏿
Placed online order and wait was advertised as ready after 20+ minutes, but it was over an hour, and I had to call and ask for it to be expedited. Was a simple order too. Just update square to say its going to be at least an hour please. Bagel was average, for a fresh bagel from shop. Will go to the dunking donuts next door instead next time, if I have something to do, and cant wait.
Hit and miss. Ive had good and bad from here. I ordered a turkey, swiss, bacon and mayo. I didnt want it toasted or heated. When my friend brought the sandwich to the house, it had been microwaved. I think I got shorted on the turkey and bacon. One slice turkey, one strip of bacon. Didnt finish the sandwich.
Very friendly and outstanding sandwiches.
Long wait times. Was told on two separate occasions it would be over 45 minutes for a simple bagel with cream cheese. Even using the order ahead feature I still never got my food because it wasnt ready when they said it would be. Almost everyone I know has had good experiences here, so maybe I just have had bad luck or the staff just doesnt like me, but Ive given this place several chances and been let down every time. My recommendation is to avoid here and go to one of the many other bagel shops in Burlington.
Im a big fan. Probably my favorite bagel place in the Burlington area. Reasonable prices, especially compared to some, and good flavors. The asiago bagels are totally killer with lots of cheese. The coffee is great. Ive always experienced friendly service as well. Pictured is a Baja on asiago with sausage instead of bacon and a 24oz cold brew.
I had a recent visit and ordered a toasted sesame with butter. I received a toasted sesame with cream cheese. Disappointing but the flavor and quality were excellent. I do wish they could streamline their morning process. You might have to wait a minute. If you dont mind golden get over there and get a nice toasted one. Fresh crunchy flavor.
Wonderful, good selections, good service.
Baja bagel very good
We’ve lived in Vermont for 5 years and The Bagel Place has been our go-to spot since college. Fresh, local ingredients- especially the eggs. Always piping hot every time. Our favorite sandwich is the Taylor ham on a spinach cheddar bagel!
Ordered 5 bagels which took 25 minutes to receive of which two were missing bacon even though it’s on the receipt and the bagels could use a higher toast cycle setting.
I ordered two bagels to be picked up at a certain time, and once I got there I waited 20 minutes. So I asked if they had an order under my name. Turns out they had lost my order, or not seen my ticket, so they never made it. I had to wait another 10 minutes for them to make my order. Very disappointed, bagel places are supposed to be “quick” service.
Best bagels around and one of the few places with consistently great coffee! Its usually pretty busy especially weekend mornings so I suggest calling in your order.
Great place for Bagels, sandwiches, and soup.I was disappointed to see the cashier and one of the food prep persons without masks. The Bagel Place has done such a good job providing a safe environment during the pandemic...it was out of character. All the customers were wearing masks!
Over the past 2 years I’ve come to the bagel place about 100 times and likely spent over a thousand dollars there. Unfortunately their service has gotten so bad I am never going back. The employees provide horrible slow service and take no action to remedy it when confronted about it. If you want a bagel in Burlington, take your business elsewhere. This place doesn’t deserve your money
Some of the girls behind the counter have a serious attitude problem and they got my order wrong. Last time I go there.
Bagel tasty, but very slow service. Crowded with people waiting for their order. I waited outside because of the crowd.
Perfect stop for breakfast very friendly staff and the service was quick and easy
This place will cure your hangover. lox bagel is to die for
I usually love going to this place! The last time we ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches online with meats and toppings, but when we got the bagels they forgot all the toppings and meat! It was just eggs and cheese on bagels :( the $22 spent was wasted on subpar breakfast
Easy online ordering, excellent bagel and breakfast sandwich options, great variety of spreads and add-ons. Order was ready & waiting when they said it would be! Highly recommend!
I go out of my way to come here when I wanna bagel. Their bagels are the best but the reason I enjoy this business is the friendly atmosphere. It is the only bagel store in the area with friendly staff. Clearly run by a great management team!
Visiting from New York I was blown away how fresh and delicious the bagels were here. Will be back next time in Burlington.
Awesome bagels
Get ur bagel on yummy and fresh
Ordered two bagels cream cheese toasted. The bagels were gross and untoasted what a waste of $12!How do you mess up a bagel? Save your money.Side note staff was friendly but not trained in the art of bagels or toasting.
Good food, decent value, good website for ordering and picking up after. Timely to my order.
I dont visit this place to often. But when I do, my order is always right and super delicious. It is great they make everything fresh right there. I ordered today for a pick up, and it was ready exactly when they said. I will definitely be going back. Thanks, Andy Bessette
Honey walnut cream cheese with a walnut in every bite. The cinnamon raisin bagel was tender and delicious. Great coffee milk. Servers were great. Nice breakfast stop. More real VT. Not tourist stop. More locals, GREAT!! Go there
Excellent bagel. One of our family’s favorite.
Service was great for covid times. The bagels were different story.
Great food and friendly service.
We ordered breakfast here 3 days in a row while staying at the hotel across the street and loved it!
Friendly and quick staff. The manager is often present and helping, which I think is nice. Oh and did I mention everything is delicious?
Lox and cream cheese on everything bagel. Most thickest delicious lox slices (cold lightly smoked salmon) that Ive EVER had on ANY bagel sandwich. Much more the famous chain that starts with a B.Very friendly team and mgr. Laughter. Dude singing to the radio - bonus.Chill vibe, customers friendly too.
We could not believe how good that place was the first time we went, so we decided to go back a second time a few months later. Same results... delicious sandwiches, great service. Long lines but service is fast. For us, it’s a must go every time we travel to Burlington.
They didnt have a good selection of meat and bagels
Absolutely love the Bagel Place. Been going here for quite a long time now and every single time the staff is upbeat and incredibly kind. The bagels are amazing and Ive never been disappointed a single time by them. Thanks for being amazing Bagel Place!
Excellent food and coffee, easy location to find, and a well thought out distancing process.
Baja sandwich on jalapeño cheddar
Love the fresh bagels and creative sandwiches.
Probably the nicest, tastiest, egg/ham/cheese fresh bagel Ive had. Busy but moving at a quick pace. Friendly and, considering the quality and how packed my bagel was, an outstanding deal.
Great, they handled a bus load of field hockey girls after we placed our order. It was all hands on deck. Cooks from the back came out to help. All served, timely.
My fave bagel spot - the line gets long but it’s worth the wait. I’ve grabbed breakfast from here, lunch from here, and even picked up fresh emergency bagels and a pot of cream cheese when company turns up for brunch at home! Always delicious and the staff are lovely.
Greatest Italian sandwich on a bagel. Good bagels. Not cheap not expensive. Always busy. Good breakfast sandwich. Expect to spend ten dollars...
Always amazing!
Their bagel sandwiches are amazing and the staff is always friendly!
A variety of freshly baked bagels are available. Great service. Very popular among the locals, so the standard line is a must. Well-worth the wait, they get your order correct in a timely manner. Definitely coming back when I go back to Vermont (Visited from Los Angeles).
Probably the best bagel place in the Burlington area. Some very interesting cream cheese options and always delicious sandwiches. Another thing that truly sets them apart is the exceptional customer service Ive experienced with every visit. Sometimes a little wait in the AM or around lunch but well worth it
I love to travel to Burlington for short gateways with my husband, with friends or even alone. I try to convince myself that I come for beer, but lets face the truth: I come for bagels, especially for The Bagel Place. I just told my husband that for my 30th birthday, this is where I want to eat. Seriously, the bagels are fresh and they have so many options. The service is fast and friendly. The sandwiches are great. 10/10
This is the BEST bagel shop around (and I have high standards for bagels). So fresh and delicious. The staff are incredibly friendly and stopping in always brightens my day!
Though very busy, the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent! Would absolutely reccomend for a quick bite.
Wow. Good people . Fantastic food . Oh my goodness what a difference for service. We will definitely be back. From Hamilton Canada and you beat Montreal bagels hands down. Great job.
Dill cheddar bagel with veggie cream cheese was SOOOO GOOOD. I also got the cold brew, which was tasty as well. Next time I come up to VT to visit my friend, this will be my first stop.
The buffalo cheddar bagel is legit! A perfect blend of hotness. Freshest bagel Ive had in a long time!
I hit this bagel shop every time I come through South Burlington in the morning. Bagels and coffee are great, but I love the creative sandwich combinations! Good stuff!
Stayed in Burlington for a concert at Higher Ground. Found The Bagel Place and was very happy. I had the Baja on asiago and it was perfect. Great friendly service too. A home run.
I must admit, Im extremely picky when it comes to bagels. I always compare then to the place I grew up getting bagels from in NJ. The Bagel Place has the best bagels in the Burlington area, in my opinion. The decor is aesthetically pleasing, great service and tasty bagel sandwiches. Will definitely be back.
