The guys there are always helpful, they always know the answers, never mind that you ask a ton of questions and the price is fair.
I worked with Tim at Treehouse to create a custom speed bag platform. He used a state of the art CAD/CAM cnc mill to create it absolutely perfectly. You just cant get a better product. And the selection of wood from their warehouse is a joy to select from. This is one company that the greater Burlington area is lucky to have.
I cant express high enough marks for how these folks help in every way while working through a project. From the service at the the front of the store to the mill shop people in the back! Attention to detail, guidance with what I didnt know about my project to understanding my level of experience and assisting in every way. Love that they exist in my neck of the woods.
I have been working with TreeHouse for years to source materials for a variety of projects. Anything from outdoor structures, builtins, cabinetry and furniture. The staff is extremely courteous, helpful and responsive. They are always willing to work with me to source the right wood for the project at hand. In particular, I strive to work mainly with Native Vermont Species from Vermont mills and Treehouse has an extensive supply of woods on hand. They also have the connections within the state to find me anything not in the showroom.A successful project begins with wood selection and sourcing. Treehouse always sets my work in motion!
Great selection of local wood including a ton of awesome live edge stuff, and so many random awesome pieces. Pretty fair prices and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable.
Most disrespectful employees. Went there for wood for boat restoration project. Was told I had to buy an entire $150 piece of wood which I understood as it was teak. But then they got inpatient and upset with me that I was trying to take the time to estimate what other pieces of wood I could cut out of the same board for other projects. They got really upset, calmed me “bro” and acted Impatient and unhelpful when I tried to talk further about adding in additional cuts on this one little $150 board so I could get other restoration projects out if it.I would rather order online any day than go back to this place.
Good everyday selection of domestic and exotic lumber as well as intetesting limited availability items. Very helpful staff.
Awesome place. They have a very large selection of wood. The staff are always very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They are always very willing to answer any questions or give helpful advice and tips. All around great place, definitely a favorite of mine.
Great products and great staff.
Nice selection of hardwoods and they have an amazing staff. If youre into woodworking I highly recommend you check them out.
Great guys, great selection of hardwoods. Domestics and exotics. Reasonable plywood selection also. Id give five stars but it is a bit pricey. Or maybe om just shocked by wood prices these days. They had some beautiful walnut slabs in there today. Awesome!
Great selection, very helpful
Excellent service, and they are incredibly knowledgeable about wood. I needed to create some custom shelves in my house and I was looking for a wood that would be dark enough when applying some dark tung oil. They suggested a cherry, and when looking at swatches of both regular and dark, it seemed to fit my needs fairly well.I also am super pregnant, and when I went to pick up the board, they carried it out to my car and helped me strap it down (because the piece was longer than I requested!) out of my hatchback.
The best source for the finest wood in Vermont. Figured slabs and exotic lumber make this a woodworkers dream. The mill shop is highly skilled and affordable. Choose your wood and have them mill up a gorgeous hardwood table top for you!
Im new to woodworking and stopped in to pick up some material for a cutting board. Shopped around for 10-15 minutes, picked out a couple pieces that I though would meet my needs. at checkout I mentioned that I was building a cutting board and the man working the counter was quick to discourage the purchase of some of the pieces that I had picked out because they are a but to porous to use on a cutting board safely. he helped me pick out a couple other pieced with similar esthetics and price point, without the risk of food poisoning. Great customer service, knowledge and experience are both on point!!
I dont ever give reviews, but this place is awesome! Spoke with Luke and he showed us the shop as well. Bought a bunch of shorts and some spalted maple. Great price great place! Ill be back
Whether you need one stick or 100 this is the place to go. The stock and pricing is only out done by the knowledgeable staff. Milling services are great and reasonable. One of best places browse for all those wood nuts out there.
These guys are the real deal, they stock a deep selection of hardwood and cabinet grade plywood at damn good prices. On my first visit they were happy to show me around the place, including their very well equipped mill shop, where a fair bit of custom magic happens... when I was there Jeremy was replicating some crown moulding from a local victorian restoration, by hand, with custom shop-made hand planes. Takes raw talent and no shortage of patience! Looking forward to my next need.
The staff are very well informed about the entire product line. I especially like Carl who is very helpful and informed about everything. He has a wealth of knowledge.
If you appreciate beautiful and unusual wood, this is the place to visit. The staff is extremely knowledgable about their products, give skilled advice, and have exceptional custom craftspeople on staff who can help design and realize a finish product an average layperson can only dream about. This should be a destination stop for anyone who appreciates fine wood.
They are very knowledgeable and eager to answer any questions u may have just a great atmosphere!
I am very pleased to write a review for the guys at Treehouse Hardwoods & Mill Shop. They recently completed design, fabrication and installation of some live edge cherry countertops for a cabin I am building in Vermont. The finished product is outstanding - top quality workmanship and materials. The Treehouse team couldnt have been more patient, knowledgable or understanding during the entire process. Their pricing and selection was unmatched by anyone else I spoke with. I would DEFINITELY use them again for all my projects in the future.
I was referred to Treehouse as a possible source for something I wanted. They didnt have what I wanted but were very helpful in leading me to a mill that did. Great store, great inventory, great staff...
Carl is patient and thoughtful, he helped me pick a few good boards for a canoe re-gunwale project. Later he helped me order a custom butcher block countertop that the millshop finished earlier than they estimated and it was pretty close to PERFECT. Quality service, quality inventory, and quality product. Couldnt ask for more. Im going back this weekend to buy some hardwood plywood.
Great selection of native and global products. Staff is always so kind and friendly.highly recommend this company.
Best source and largest selection of Hardwoods and hard to find Exotic woods in VT. They also offer high quality local wood grown in our state, and a good place to find turning stock..
They have the best selection of exotic woods I have ever come across. I am extremely happy to have them in the area.
I had the great pleasure of discovering the Treehouse Hardwoods via a Woodworking Project and Collaboration between the University of Vermont, Wake Robin Senior Community, Shelburne, Vermont, and Shelburne Farms, in Shelburne, Vermont. Our mission was to build custom fit Bookcases to showcase a Free Library for UVM Students -called The Book Nook. Our wood of choice was Vermont Sugar Maple that was harvested and sawed into raw unfinished planks at the Farm. We were recommended to the Treehouse for the finished milling, and thats where I was introduced to the remarkable -Art of Milling Wood- to the very finest custom milled end product. I got to witness the entire process of taking down a tree right through the journey it requires to achieve a true finished plank of hardwood!Carl Farnsworth and his Team at Treehouse Hardwoods were key to our projects success. The planks they turned out still maintained the essential feel and beauty of the original harvested Sugar Maple, right down to the fresh smell of the Woods. I will remember this experience (and education into the real Art of harvesting and building with Wood) for the rest of my Life.Sincerely,Jacques-Paul Marton, The Dudley H. Davis Center, The University of Vermont.
