My appointment was great for me and my happy. Only downside is trying to get a hold of anyone at this location. You call several different numbers and the only options are to make an appointment or check on an existing order. I would like to speak to a human. For as many people as they have working there at a time, its awful customer service to never answer the phones.
This place was great, had great service from the beginning till the end. One of the team members was kind enough to fix my old glasses at no charge. To top it off my glasses were ready in two days!! Great service and would definitely recommend this location!!
Literally the best eyecare in town. Mike helped me find the perfect glasses and best lenses for them since I work on the computer all day. If I could give 10 stars I would! Always ask for Mike.
I will say I was taken back by all the negative reviews on here because my experience was very well documented and had a great flow to their system. Each person I met with were very polite, direct and friendly. I notice that most peoples complaint was the fact that there was no Benefit to filling out the form ahead of time because we basically would end up having to repeat that information to them in person, I could understand it being upsetting however I think we need to be reminded thats theirs a pandemic going on which means delays and interfaces with IT. Give the staff a break theyre doing their best to keep their doors open to provide to you.
I used to use this location for both myself and my families eye care needs and initially they were great. Our normal optician is Dr. Logan and she is amazing, but you cannot select her when trying to make an appointment online. During the week of 11/9, I tried to calling this location daily to setup an appointment with her, but no one answers the phone. Getting frustrated by day 5 of no answers, I went to the location to find them closed with no message of why on their website, phone recording, nothing. As I was waiting outside, 4 more customers showed up to see the locked doors and missed UPS and FED EX notifications filling the door outside. I came back again on 11/24/20 and the location was open. After going inside and finally talking to someone after 10 minutes of waiting. During my wait, I sat and watched the phone ringing non-stop and no one picking up with several workers not paying any attention or not caring and customers sitting alone at tables waiting to be seen, I get the hint that this location should no longer be our location of choice. The woman I finally talked to was smug and said they had been closed for 5 days and gave no reasoning. Almost seems like she couldnt get me out the door quick enough after my questions.I am calling again now to cancel my appointment and have been on hold again for the last 10 minutes with no one picking up, even when prompting for an emergency to see if someone would pick up. Hanging up now as this is a joke. I would run.....not walk from this location for future needs as it is obvious this how they now operate, after two weeks of trying to get in touch with them. Its embarrassing for a corporate location to provide this type of service. Count us as ex customers going forward as there are many other service providers that would gladly accept 4 new patients.
My fiance was just there. She was told that she could not be seen by a doctor without a retinal scan. However the doctor told her it is recommended and not required. Then after paying for contact fitting for her daughter, they said it could not be done that day...however when she paid they said it was to take care of it then. So she asked for a refund and the perscription. They did the refund but said they are not allowed to provide a prescription if it is not being done there.Lastly, when she asked to speak to the manager, the person lied saying they were the manager. The person was a young woman, but we know the manager is a man.Liars and cheats. They do not realize they just lost 10 customers from our family in 1 shot.
RUDE...I stood in line waiting to be served. Signed in...I was 10 minutes late at sign in.. Two appointments signed in 20 minutes and 40 minutes early so they refused to see me. This is how front line workers are treated by Visionworks...I spent thousands here with my family...never again...Update. WHATS EVEN WORSE....YOU EMAIL THE ADDITIONAL DETAILS REQUESTED AND YOU DONT GET A RESPONSE.
I made an appointment online for my husband at this location. I filled out an online form through my email to provide all of the medical history and insurance information. For the next 3 weeks before the appointment, we got several requests to ask us to confirm the appointment, which we did several times. A few days before the appointment, my husband got a call asking us to fill out the online form through the email that we had already filled out. I called the location and explained this over the phone to the person that answered and was hung up on. When I called back and explained that we already had done this, no one could give us any type of explanation as to what happened to the original submission. So I filled it out again and submitted it. When my husband arrived for the appointment, they told him that they were having trouble billing the insurance. It is the exact same insurance that we used for our appointments last year with no problem. But they said because we filled out the information through the online form that there was some kind of issue. Then they told him that because of COVID the doctor would not actually examine his eye up close and that he would need to pay extra to do some kind of retinal scan. This is usually offered as an elective extra on the appointment. Because it is elective, the insurance wont cover it and it would need to be paid out of pocket, even though they are forcing you to do it at the office. If you dont want to do the exam, then they make you do the eye dilation, which is also usually elective. But my husband was not informed of this before the appointment so he drove himself and he would not be able to drive himself home for quite a while if he did the eye dilation. It would also take 45 minutes of waiting in the office for the eyes to dilate. None of this was explained to us before the appointment, my husband turned around and left. This is a total scam, if you go to any other eye care place they are not forcing patients to do this and are able to safely conduct a normal eye exam even with covid-19 procedures place. This place is trying to rip people off for extra money and use COVID as an excuse.
I made appointment three weeks ahead. They sent text message I confirmed. Then two days before they wanted confirmation however I wasn’t able to answer the call. Then one day before my appointment and canceled my appointment because it was out of there hands. Hello why would I make appointment on that day if I wasn’t going to make it.
Worse vision place in the area - DO NOT GO HERE. Unprofessional, make terrible glasses. Just dont do it - so many better options out there. Like not being able to see and just feeling your way thru life....
Always fantastic service
Sue was a very helpful employee. She went out of her way to find me a replacement frame that had been discontinued. She made numerous calls to out of state Vision Works stores to find the exact frame and color. I dont know how many calls it took, but she was successful. As soon as the frame arrived, Crystal, another very responsive employee called to let me know the frames had arrived, because Sue was off that day. What a pleasure to receive such wonderful and efficient customer service from two pleasant, friendly and efficient employees who went way beyond on my behalf that day.
I brought my 85 year old mother in for glasses. She is hard of hearing & has difficulty making a decision, so I expected picking out glasses to be quite a challenge. I want to give the highest of compliments to Mariana, who took care of us. She was kind, compassionate, friendly & extremely engaging. She was so patient with my mother. She spoke up to help her hear. She was respectful & so completely pleasant. Sometimes seniors are disrespected & pushed along or aside because of their advanced age. It is sad when this happens. We can learn a lot from our seniors if we just listen to them. They have a wealth of life knowledge to share. Mariana was everything I could have hoped for. She made this process pleasant & fun. I would give her 10 stars if I could. Thank you so much for your exceptional service & caring personality!
Called Visionworks on Halloween and they got me in the same day for a eye exam... Picked out a pair of glasses.. Was having a hard time driving at night.... Took 1 week to get them. The staff and Doctor are very friendly.... The place is very clean and they have such a great selection of eyewear.....I highly recommend this place
Extremely extremely bad customer service. Granted I was just coming to look at glasses and others had appointments but once people left they didn’t still didn’t acknowledge the customer. I was ready to buy glasses too and I was leaving no acknowledgment
Vision works always helps me find the right pair of glasses I’m looking for with helpful and friendly assistance. Yesterday I came in to get a pair of glasses fixed, I lost a nose piece on a pair and put gorilla glue on them (ghetto I know lol) and Crystal was nice enough to take the glue off for 10 minutes and fix them for me free of charge. She was super nice and professional. Shorty needs a raise. Thank you Crystal !!!
My experience with Visionworks in South Elgin, IL was very positive. All aspects from making an appointment, to the eye exam to the selection of the frames went flawlessly. Dale, Sue, Elizabeth were all very friendly and helpful. Dr. Logan, the optometrist, was meticulous in performing the eye examination and got my prescription perfect. Although I do not have an easy prescription, both pairs of my new glasses are great. As with most businesses, it is the people that make it successful. Visionworks in South Elgin, IL is a pretty good place.
Friendly, treats you like family. Got 2 pair for what I used to pay for 1! Dr. Logan was very thorough and got me seeing the best I have in years. Going to bring my husband here!!
Run do not walk away from South Elgin Vision work. I had an appointment at 6 PM. Arrived 20 minutes earlier. By the time we clear the insurance issue it was 6 05 . And I was informed that I have to reschedule for another day. What a scum backs work there. Again run not walk from there.
Mrs. Crystal is fantastic! She is super helpful and her team is super kind and helpful. I highly recommend this location!
My wife and I were in need of new prescription glasses and we do not usually go to these kinds of eyeglass stores however we thought we would give them a try. Big mistake!!!! We both Ordered glass and lenses from Vision works had to go back 3 time because the lenses were wrong on both glasses this took over a month going back and forth to the store and they still couldnt get it right? Should of stuck with my first gut instinct. That did it for us! Never again.
I buy my glasses @ Vision Works because of the prices and the customer service. Great selection for men and kids. :)
OMG! This Vision Works location went above and beyond to help me. I needed glasses ASAP so I can see while driving. Susan took the frame and lenses I needed and drove them over to the lab and waited for the glasses, then brought them back to this location so I could have them same day. Now that is customer service in the extreme! Thanks to everyone at Vision Works who was involved in a remarkable experience!
Great service. Maggie R. helped fit me for glasses. Chose the first pair she showed. Order came in sooner than promised. Thanks.
Had to say I had a great experience at Version works with a Dr. Logan and staff. They helped me through insurance complexities and have an excellent choice of styles. They are now on our optometrist of choice.
Horrible place to buy glasses. The doctor was very friendly and nice, but definitely in a hurry. Overall, not bad though. The buying experience was laughable. Young girl had zero interest in earning my business and the prices were outrageous. Went to Sams Club and got the same glasses & lenses for less than half the price. Friendly sales person as well. Definitely won’t be back.
The Dr was fine, but the tech in the front Julio tried to charge me more than $330 when my insurance plan covered almost all the items with a $10 co pay, and lenses were $0. He used a generic discount code instead of calling the insurance number to get the actual discount codes. He tried charging me the full amount for frames when my plan covered $140. I left when he refused to call the insurance company and he thought it was funny I cared about how much out of pocket I had to pay. I pay a lot for insurance sorry I would like to make sure Im getting all my available discounts. Ill take my business elsewhere.
South Elgin is super friendly. I love bringing my family here.
If you want to wait well over an hour and make two phone calls to get something as simple as a contact lens prescription faxed over to you, this is the place to go!
Run don’t walk from this South Elgin location. They made a mess out of the whole experienceCharged our Visa double, made a mistake in the measurement of my 10 yr. olds eyes, not to mention the lab sent a notice to them that they had miss measured... those people never let us know... so we never got the glasses we needed so badly....do yourself a favor stay away from this business
This place is absolutely horrible when it comes to customer service. They ordered the wrong contact lenses for me and then I had to come back to the store to exchange them once the correct ones came in. My brother also goes to this location for his eye exams and hes been having issues with them too.... they forgot to give him the paper for the rebate you can get online for acuvue contacts so he had to drive back to the store to get the paper. The ladies that work there are really old and really slow... they forget half the things theyre supposed to be doing and my eye exam visits take forever because of how slow they are. Please hire people who actually know how to deliver proper customer service!
Thank You for your excellent service! Sue Harter, at the South Elgin, Illinois branch, was a godsend! She was able to help my EXTREMELY picky daughter find the perfect frames in under 20 mins....new record! We greatly appreciated her kindness and patience!
Both Elizabeth and Julio offered excellent service, helping me procure a set of glasses in one day. The opthamologist was very courteous and professional, great store!
Sitting here for the past hour and not even close to be done. The lady who booked my appointment said I will be in and out. I need to go back to work and I haven’t even picked my glasses yet. They are overbooked. My kids have appointment next week if it goes this slow we won’t be coming again.
The GM is so rude! If I could I would give 0 stars. Subpar customer service!
Service was quick and friendly!
They are similar to every chain or publicly traded company. They make promises then dont deliver on them. Then when youre very frustrated you have to complain to some part-time person that can help you
Absolutely horrible the manager was rude and hung up on me didnt want to hear a thing I had to say when I had issues with their service . Do not go to any Visionworks location
