I was pleasantly surprised when I stopped in for 1 bagel today for a quick, late breakfast. It definitely tastes homemade (in a good way) and the pour-yourself coffee wasnt bad either. I do wish the to-go cups werent styrofoam.There could be some strategic improvements made to the interior because its not a super welcoming experience as a newbie and the refrigerator at the entrance is very noisy. This is a pickup and carry-away place so its tolerable as a customer but I imagine it must really wear on the staff all day long and put some other people off.

The bagels are always excellent! Customer service was terrible. It is disappointing to walk in and be rudely spoken to because I missed spending 10 minutes outside to read the multiple signs taped to the window. After waiting to come in, the young woman stood behind a walled area, away from my vision, probably checking out her cell and after standing there and not acknowledging us, she said, “Go ahead and tell me what you want.” I said that I would wait until she was able to assist me and I was told by her that she had a good memory and she could hear me. She still did not greet us. Her approach could have been so much better, even if she was having a rough day. Her skill set and attitude need definite improvement.

Just picked up a bakers dozen and 2 sticks and cream cheese. Saw the reviews and wanted to stop in. Bagels are top notch. Cream cheese was great i actually saw the veggies in the veggie cream cheese unlike other chain places. Definitely be back, ladies were awesome and a great personalities too!! ; )

Todays visit alone makes me want to never return. Cleanliness is no longer a priority here! This is from a patron who frequents here so often the staff knows my order. Im so sad because the bagels and cookies are really tasteful!Today my husband went in ordered cookie and bagels (normal order).. When he came home I opened the bag and yes, there were bagels and GNATS in the bag crawling over the bagels. I am disgusted! I did call and the lady offered to take care of us the next time we came in, however we just wont be back! Cleanliness is top priority! The shop needs to be cleaned and the jalapeno cream cheese always has a funny taste like its spoiled! So disappointed!!

Went to The Bagel Factory to bring bagels back home with me. I have never been here before but heard good things about it. I got a bakers dozen and the employee put the bagels into 2 freezer bags for my trip. Bagels are delicious and definitely will be back for more next time I am in town.

Bad service. I started at the Original Bagel Factory. They sent me next door to this deli. The deli didnt know which bagels they had from the bagel shop so he told me to go back over there. Im not running back and forth. This isnt service! I went home. If they dont have the time for me then I dont have money for them. Neither place deserves patronage.

Best vegetable cream cheese I ever had.

Those were, by far, the best bagels Ive ever eaten in my entire life. Their coffee is also top shelf. The service is just as good if not better than the food. The lady is nice to me every time I come in and I always tip high because of it. All the prissy upper middle class Southfield residents dont come here for nothing.

I have been going to the Bagel Factory for over 20 years and I have known Josh for even longer. He has always been honest, a man of his word and above all he makes a great Bagel with the best Hazelnut coffee in town. I have been in the back and I have never noticed the conditions that another reviewer describes. I prefer the Bagel Factory over Starbucks or Tim Hortons. The coffee, the Bagels and the people working there have been wonderful. Josh, thank you for starting my day off right for years and if Im lucky, I will have another 20 of Bagel Factory Hazelnut coffee ☕️

Best bagels in southeast Michigan hands down. Don’t bother looking for a better bagel anywhere else, I’ve tried in the entire south east area and am constantly wishing I went here instead. Bagels are slightly chewy, super moist, and toasted with the perfect crunch. What more could one want. Cream cheese is delish!

Amazing bagels but poor customer service. My boss used to bring bagels in for the entire office every Thursday. Then one Thursday an employee here gave him an attitude about how many bagels he was ordering. The employee made him feel like he was burdening the bagel place with his large order. This poor customer service left a bad taste. He rarely goes to get bagels anymore because of this experience.

This post is 100% accurate, I have been a loyal customer to the bagel factory for over 20 years and frankly I enjoy their bagels and coffee. In April of 2016, the owner Josh, contacted me about purchasing equipment for a new venture. I met him at his location and he agreed to purchase a bakery oven and provided a $4000 deposit check which he told me to hold on to until he has the funds available. As a liquidator I purchased the oven from a National Supermarket chain and held it for Josh on good faith and a $4000 deposit, even though the check was not good. When I met Josh at his location in Southfield, I was invited to the backroom where the deal was struck, he even gave me 4 bagels for free hot out of the oven which I enjoyed on the way home. I was appalled by the condition of the his equipment, his steel racks and refrigeration were disgusting with grease and oil literally seeping from the equipment. His floor was dirty and his ceiling was disgusting. Frankly I wish I had never been invited to the backroom, because I like his bagels but dont like the filth. Unfortunately Josh did not fulfill his part of the business deal and I got stuck with a $6000 oven which made matters even worse. I not only lost $6000 but the ability to visit this establishment knowing that I am eating bagels from an unsanitary environment. I will gladly post my email address or phone number to confirm this information. I have not been back since. I probably would have forgotten about the $6000 but the filthy kitchen area was not forgivable.

I have NEVER had a bad bagel here. Honestly, when relatives come to town, this is where I get their bagels from (and I used to work for a competitor LoL!). This shop is sort of a hole-in-the-wall place tucked between a few other retailers in an unassuming strip mall off a busy intersection. Once you shoe horn your vehicle into the lot, theres not a lot going on inside this tiny shop but its well worth the visit. The bagels are soft, chewy, moist and often still warm. Any cheese bagel you choose is going to be good. In fact, you dont even need suggestions, just pick anything. Its a win!

Ignored by the woman when we walked in. When someone finally helped us, we were told they were out of lox cream cheese. When we asked for lox, they said they don’t serve lox. We asked why it is on the menu and she told us to go next door. Extremely off putting. Won’t be going back.
