Calypso is an absolute doll. I have some of the hardest time finding foundation because I’m very fair in complexion, however most companies only makes foundations for people with peach undertones where I actually require more yellow. She helped me go through all different brands. We found a good shade match, but with Covid we can’t swatch. She allowed me to purchase it, swatch it in store and immediately return it since the formula didn’t work for me. After spending about an hour and a half, she found the perfect foundation match and formulation for me. I typically hate going into Sephora’s because the employees tend to treat you not the greatest. However, Calypso was the absolute best customer service I’ve had anywhere. I’ve struggled to find the right makeup for the past few years and she is the one who took the time to figure it out for me, and was incredibly sweet.
Short staffed but great bargains
Legit obsessed and love how kind the staff are!
Went in to buy drunk elephant products. Drunk elephant is a very expensive product so I opened one of the boxes to look inside and the sales associate very rudely said “I can’t have you opening boxes”. This has never been a problem at ANY other sephora. There was no one else in the store. She could have gotten off of her lazy a** and helped us. I’m not gonna pay 100 dollars for a product and not even see what it looks like. So I purchased the product. Went to the parking lot and decided I didn’t like her attitude and went back in to return it. Not sure what her point was. I can’t open the product to see its size in store But I can take it out to the parking lot and then come back and return it. She needs to be more courteous to customers and maybe she will make more sales. I was very disappointed. I’ll just wait the 2 days shipping and get the product directly from drunk elephant.
Of course I love Sephora...Im a makeup person. However, because of Covid, they dont have any samples out, for obvious reasons, so its difficult to purchase anything new since you cant see what the products look like. Also, it appears that theyre pretty low on a lot of inventory. Probably due to Covid as well. On a good note, the staff is usually friendly and I can (for the most part) rely on them to have what Im looking for.
Awesome clearances and prices. Need a couple more cashiers though, or more signs throughout the store pointing to the only cashier there is. Only one on each floor!
Need more sales people to help
Very helpful associate.
Its not as full as it used to be and less employees to help you.
Madeline was outstanding!!! She did my eyelashes along with my daughters and we were in love. I ended up going to eat at Chilli’s in the mall and ran into a friend and she ended up going to Madeline as well because she loved our lashes. Us 3 were very happy with her service and ability to teach! She’s amazing and definitely an asset to this company. Thank you!
I just purchased 600$ just for my daughter a couple days ago, and I’ve always used cheap Walmart makeup. I’ve seen the difference in her skin. Madeline was the girl helping us and showed my daughter everything she needed to know. If it wasn’t for her I honestly would have bought maybe 2 products, but we came out with 600$. Madeline’s makeup was beautiful and I kept telling her that and I will be back in a few weeks to have her do my whole face so I can buy myself product. We appreciate her so much this is the only store I’ll be coming to. Her talent is amazing. If you need your makeup done or a good teacher she is definitely the one!!
I lost my receipt so I couldn’t do Madeline’s survey on there, but I hope she still gets credit for me taking it on here! She was great. She had such a positive attitude and patience. I went from knowing nothing to feeling like I could do everything. She explained all the steps to me. I just wanted to thank her for making me feel beautiful. She’s amazing and I will be coming back soon!-Wendi
Clean and friendly staff. Priced a bit higher than i wanted to pay for some items. A lot of brands in such a condenced space.
Didnt go in sephora. Nosey, quit tracking me. Wont ever but from you now and will pass this incident to my friends.
Madeline did my makeup for a trial run for my daughters wedding a few days ago and was amazing. Her work was wonderful and she’s very personal. With having older skin I find it hard to find someone who knows how to work with it. I made my appointment again with her for the actual wedding. Thank you.
For reopening it was ok Friendly staff, only one person ringing up customers and I wait 20 minutes to make my purchase. There was other employees working and one keeped going behind the counter then leaving again.
I guess you went above and beyond helping me out when I came into the store about 10 minutes before they close I believe her name was Jeri. Thanks so much for getting me an awesome experience and giving me a goodie bag.
I had Madeline do my makeup before at the valley store and she did amazing, I’m happy to see that she’s at Northtown since that’s closer for me. I always buy everything from her that she recommends because she’s always honest. I was a bit bummed when I called Wednesday to schedule an appontment for Thursday the girl just said “we don’t take appointments on the weekdays.” I really hope that changes because I planned on buying a lot from her. I will still be coming back but I hope you open up your availability for makeovers.
I usually shop at Sephora and have had good experiences- theres one sales associate named Emily who is always sweet and accommodating and I love working with her. But I was really disappointed last night by the other worker on shift. She seemed to be managerial and actually berated Emily in front of several customers for making a mistake. And when I tried to ask questions, she got irritated with me and acted like I was stupid for asking about brand names. Disappointed. Very poor customer service
Came in yesterday afternoon wanting to learn eyeshadow and a Smokey look. I don’t know anything about that stuff. Madeline greeted me and I looked at her makeup and it was exactly what I was wanting. She offered to sit me down and teach me she’s amazing I will be back to buy that Norvina pallete now on payday.
Employees and management are rude and condescending. Why would I go to a store where I am treated like an inconvenience for spending money? What kind of business are they running? I found a Mary Kay lady and I recommend you do the same. Better product and service with a smile. Plus they deliver!
This sephora already has a poor selection of products but its also always out of stock. Tried twice months apart to buy a new foundation and everything I was interested in was out of my shade both times. Customer service is fine but when theres nothing in stock why would I come back when I can just go to one of the other larger Sephoras in Spokane?
Bad customer service. Valley store had this one hold a product for my daughter. When Caroline, the worker there, pulled the product from the drawer, it fell out of the box and smashed all over the floor. This was the only bottle available. No real sincere apology, did not offer to order one and pay for the shipping as it was her fault she dropped it. Very careless, unprofessional. Accidents happen but these gals dont seem to care. Just said there was nothing she could do and try a different Sephora. Caroline laughed when it broke and joked that it was probably the only one left. Its not a joke nor is it acceptable when your needing a particular product and its the only one that works.
I’m a women of color and never wear makeup because I don’t understand hardly anything about it. I went to Ulta and Macy’s and both stores couldn’t match me. I than came here and Madeline was super sweet and asked me if I needed help and I was a little unsure at first just because of Ulta and Macy’s but she changed my life. I’ve never had such an amazing color for foundation it’s perfect. She went the extra mile and applied it all over so I could see it. She matched me into the Makeup Forever Matte Velvet. She was also able to show me how to get a “nude lip” on my skin color. I needed up buying a lot here. I will definitely be coming back to her!
Cashier today was condescending and rude. I inquired about a specific brand of makeup and was told it was “drug store” makeup. She was also rude about me paying in cash. I will continue to shop at Ulta, where the staff appreciates their customers.
Jeri is great! She made a amazing visit for us. Super helpful and is the reason Sephora is better than Ulta
If you’re anything like me, meaning your idea of going to get makeup means making a target run- but you are wanting to expand your horizons, then the Sephora in the North Town mall is the perfect spot.I (sad to admit that it was my first time ever) went here to get my color matched for foundation about a month ago. The lady working with me was so patient and helpful. She asked questions to make sure she was bringing me options that would be perfect for what I was looking for. She even gave me a few samples so I could try them out first to make sure I liked them. I ended up buying the Urban Decay Naked Skin and loooove it!My second experience here was just a few days ago and this time it was a different lady, but again, SO MUCH PATIENCE! I was looking for a semi-nude/ semi-mauve matte lipstick and let me tell you, I tried on about 8 different colors and I’m so grateful for her advice & patience. I never felt like I was bothering her or that she was getting annoyed and I’m happy to say we found the perfect brand and color (Tarte - tarteist lip paint in festival)
Literally none of the workers could simply help me find the lipstick I buy every single month. One worker was annoyed I needed help and grabbed a random lipstick off the shelf and tried telling me it was the shade when it was clearler labeled a different number and was clearly a different shade. They were too busy assisting customers with makeup appointments then to help the customers that come into shop. If you sell makeup you should have a little knowledge as to what your selling! Step up your customer service. Such rude employees. I shop here every month but now its time to find a new store.
I went in for the first time to shop for makeup on valentines day and had a bad experience. The associates were not helpful unless you had white skin or looked like you were made of money. I asked for a lip gloss, they didnt have it. Again found another color I liked and yet again they didnt have it. I will never ever shop at sephora ever again. One associate said go to Walmart you can find something you like in your price range. They lost me as a customer because I was planning to buy what I need ed because that was my gift from my kids for valentines day.
Ive been in this Sephora quite a few times and I always end up buying something whether its eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara...I love Sephoras products but the entire staff has such an issue with customers who dont walk into their shop with a full face of makeup. Ive seen other customers ignored or treated as if they are stupid and since Im barely to the point of being confident in my personal makeup application, I feel the same way. My best friend and I have gone in and shopped together and while she is amazing at her application, I am not and we both had very different experiences with a certain associate. I am not sure if the woman with blonde hair that has a larger stature is the manager but she has been working every time Ive gone in and if she is the manager, she has some customer service training she needs to catch up on. She is rude, will walk off in the middle of a question stating she is busy and that someone else will help...Im to the point where Im thinking of going across the street to Ulta to see if I can get better service who has an interest in connecting with their customers, said customers leaving their store excited to use the products theyve purchased and not leave with more questions than when they walked through their doors. I have over ten years of customer service experience, with five of those years being in management so I know what should be expected from the company not just as a customer. Completely unsatisfied experience and I am still unsure if i will continue shopping at this Sephora.
Good selection. Friendly, non pushy staff.
I have never had a good experience at Sephora, especially the Valley Mall, until today. Necole helped me and changed my perspective on the other employees. I am glad to hear she will be going to the Spokane Valley Mall Sephora. Hopefully she can get those girls out there to be more friendly and professional. She is a rock star. Sephora can learn alot from her and how they should have their employees strive to be.
First time in Seohora, wont be the last time. Joseph was super friendly and couldnt have been more helpful!
Went to purchase a cleanser. And when I opened the package it was all sticky and dirty. Looked like someone used it and returned it and they just put it back in the box :( next time will order from the official brand site.
I see the makeup as I walk through to the mall.
I returned a product here that I had purchased at a free-standing Sephora store; ordinarily I would have made the return at that location, but on this occasion it would have been highly inconvenient, so I headed to the JCP location at Northtown. A SiJCP associate, Chyla, informed me that the return was possible and began the transaction. After ten minutes of waiting, during which time I apologized profusely for the inconvenience I was causing (she did not acknowledge this in any way), she proceeded to berate me in front of other customers. She informed me that my return was like returning something from Kohls to a Wal-Mart and complained about the fact that the cost of the item would be deducted from her stores income. Having worked in cosmetics retail, I am aware of this issue - hence my repeated apologies and attempts to thank her for what she was doing, since I know it sucks - but guilt-tripping and humiliating customers is never acceptable. My experiences at this location have always been mediocre at best, but this was outstandingly poor. Chyla should be glad to know that I will not be back to bother her - or anyone else at this location - again. (NB: The free-standing Sephora in downtown Spokane offers the absolute opposite experience to this location - the associates are consistently friendly and knowledgeable, the selection is much wider, and the merchandise itself is kept in much better condition.)
The store looks like a used makeup shop.
👌
Giving them a 2 because the girls at least try ... unfortunately I have to say that this is the Worst sephora I have Ever been to ...
Horrible customer service
Typical SEPHORA
