A fun 2 hours (grand-girls, ages 5 & 3) Great price on kid’s meals. The ferris wheel ride is only $1. The large aquarium is very nice. Helpful staff. Candy store, small arcade area, mountain of taxidermied animals and mini-bowling all a bonus. Shopping: GREAT variety on all things sport equipment —> clothes, shoes, bikes, swimming, skiing, and hunting/guns. Double ck your prices to make sure you’re getting a good deal. Some things are priced way too high.

I needed to purchase a bike helmet and lights for my bicycle. I stopped on a Thursday afternoon and was greeted with a smile and a hardy welcome by Jim Storm. He helped me, stayed with me showing me options on a bike helmet and the type of lights for safety. Jim was a great help in the best safety equipment for bicycle riding with a comfort level. I purchased a helmet, front and rear lights. The customer service was par excellence.

Employees are polite and helpful. Several inconsiderate people shopped without a mask. We enjoyed our visit.

Scheels is an excellent sporting goods store to visit. They have just about everything outdoorsy. Not everything is the lowest price, however, at least at the one in Springfield, all employees greet you, are very friendly and extremely helpful. They all check on you without being pushy. They also seem to have all the name brands in all their products, whatever your outdoor hobbie is. Plus, take the family, kids will have fun on the ferris wheel, looking at the aquarium or playing some of the arcades.

Customer service was great! The Mens Athletic Manager, Logan, went out of his way to locate the product I wanted and adjusted the price to match a sale price at another Scheels location.

Wish the cashier would have explained the credit card deal more accurately. Could have saved me over $100 and I would have gotten one. I only over heard another cashier say something as we were leaving that it would have saved us that :(. Other than that the ladies in the fitting rooms were extremely helpful and offered to get us another size that fit perfectly:)

Love this place. I can take my knife here to get sharpened for free(bench made). Toy section is decent. Legos to hot wheels. Can be expensive but still a fun trip. Oh and the arcade isn’t big but you can easily spend 30 minutes playing games.

We were at the springfield store this morning to buy a gift for our granddaughter. We were looking at the display searching for the correct northface sweatshirt and correct size when Brenna Harris walked by and saw that we needed help. She not only checked to see if they had it in store, which they didnt, but she offered to place the order for us on line. Place is pretty cool,ferris wheel lots of stores and shops. Lots of fun for kids and adults! One thing I did find weird was in the gun store(Guns and locked triggers) is that you need a License or permit to touch a locked up firearm? Well otherwise I think the store is great.

Very surprised how large of a store this is. They have a ferris wheel and a huge fish tank in the entrance. They have a huge selection of clothing, camping goods, and even home goods. Definitely want to go back soon to see more.

This is a great place to shop. My son picked up fishing gear, my husband got some items for hunting and I got tennis shoes and hiking socks. All the clerks were helpful and friendly. It is a family friendly place. It is handicapped accessible and has handicapped parking. Parking is free. I plan on visiting here again in the near future.

We stopped for a break on our trip from Chicago to St Louis. Our 5 year old loved the giant fish tank and the ferris wheel, which is only $1 per ride. We had lunch at the Cafe and some Gelato. Maybe next time Ill be brave enough to try the jalapeño fudge.

This place has most every fisherman or hunter would be looking for. Prices are sometimes higher than other merchants but the local sales tax is to blame. The service is excellent with somebody always available to help you find what you are looking for.

This place is AMAZING! To call it a sporting goods store is an injustice. Schools has everything you could want and more. When you first enter, you walk under the aquarium then you are greeted by the Ferris Wheel. There are several areas for your enjoyment such as an arcade, mini bowling alley, gun range, and dining area. You can spend hours looking through all of the different areas (hunting, fishing, camping, kayaking, etc).If you are ever in the Springfield area, definitely add Scheels to your to-do list.

Wanted to get kids out if the house so off to Scheels we went. Everyone was very friendly. Dont think we saw one employee who didnt say hi and asked how we were doing? Poor customer service experience. MY Daughter was, and I quote 1cm to short to ride the ferris wheel. Drove 2 1/2 hrs away. Even people in line were surprised that the associate was being serious when he said she couldnt ride. Not like I was planning on sending her by herself. 1cm? Seriously. I dont think 1cm is going to make a difference. Happened wed 3/31/21 around 11. Maybe this associate could learn some customer service skills.

My dad, my sister, my brother and me all went to scheels and rode the Ferris wheel.We looked around the store we bought a few things and the people were nice and helpful and we had cookies from the cafe overall it was a good fun day.

If you want the best in outdoor gear and sporting goods (and are willing to pay full price for it) this is the place to get it. Scheels researches the market and picks what they think are the best products in a segment and that’s what they carry. So they may not have the largest selection of brands and they don’t heavily discount anything but you can be pretty sure you are getting quality.

This was the first time to the store since it is not close to my house. The store has lots to look at and choose from. The store was very clean and nice looking on the inside and out. They prices were not bargain but not way overpriced either. I would say they were reasonable but they did have good sale on some items. I was very impressed with their firearm selection. During these times were everyone is sold out and the ones that do have firearms are asking way more then what they should be but Scheels prices were not high at all. They seemed to be about what they were before the high demand. The best part of all was their employees. They were extremely friendly and helpful with our being annoying and bothersome. They also were well informed on the products they were selling. I had a great experience at the store and will be back.

For Christmas I got a pair of snow pants that were too big and the store did not have my size, nor did any of their other stores. They got in touch with the maker of the pants and were able to get me the size I need that and they will be here within the week. Such a smooth and fantastic process, everyone was super nice and well informed. Love this store!

It was really packed but the employees were on it. Super helpful and friendly. It was warm in there and with masks it got uncomfortable fast. I saw the restaurant inside but didnt try anything. My kids love to look at the huge fish tanks. They are afraid of heights so weve never been on the ferris wheel. When the were younger they really liked the playground equipment. Prices are high but they carry stuff you cant always find anywhere else locally.

Taught a Google workshop in there yesterday. Great facility and great host.

Although they have a mask policy, only about 50% of the customers were wearing masks. We are in a peak of covid and directly in front of the store is a covid testing site. I am sure some of the people that are getting tested also enter the store. The fact that employees werent walking around enforcing the policy indicated to me that the management is more concerned about making money than protecting our health and safety. I wont be returning or taking my son there again. I was very annoyed.

Scheels is a pretty neat store. It is huge and has a lot of selection. It has fishing, hunting, bikes, shoes, exercise equipment, sporting goods, golf. They have a large selection of guns but not much ammo right now like every where else.They also have things for entertainment including a ferris wheel and famous people talking animatronics. There is also a large fish tank in the front that you walk under as you enter.

Every employee is friendly and ready to help. Their prices are reasonable and their inventory is great. The store as a whole is an experience and youll probably run into plenty of cute pups.

If face masks and social distancing means anything to you, this is not the place to shop. We complained to check out person, then day manager, then corporate person. The store manager repeatedly told us how great the store is, and how they are exempt from the State of Illinois mask mandate. The state of Illinois requires face masks, however the manager says they are exempt because they are such a large store. Anyone who believes this needs to check with the Sangamon County Department of Health as I did and was told masks are required no matter how large the store. The manager told me we needed to wait until the COVID passes to shop if we were uncomfortable with their no face mask policy. We were also told by the manager he would be more than happy to refund the recent gift card we received. It is obvious he has no concern about our business nor customer and staff safety. I would describe the manager as using the “bully” approach when contacting us; not good! I would imagine all the stores who are following the COVID rules would be interested to know how Scheels obtained an exemption. Has anyone else noticed only positive comments have a response? What does that tell everyone? Problems are ignored!
