Bought a brand new bow, completely set up, and fine tuned. Very satisfied with the customer service. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and won’t have you leave until everything is 100% correct. I highly recommend this place. It was worth the 4 hour drive from home.

I am new into archery but wanted my family to explore this. I purchased a used Mathews bow that needed much fitting to my needs. I also purchased my children bows online, diamond / bowtech brand. I took all our gear to James River to be sized and fitted and they made us feel like family even with our own gear not purchased from them. The staff spent a solid 2 hours between myself and my two kids to get everyone sized correctly and geared out and It ended up being 40 bucks. I feel like they disserve more. Thank you for your attention to detail and comfort level addressed to my children. I wont use another shop.

You know the firat time I went in here last year I had a hard time getting a used Hoyt lined out well went there this year and bought a V3 and they really took care of me built the bow in less than an hour,now granted I gotta shoot it couple hundred times before we paper tune it but still they really helped me out,answered all my questions,and Calvin is awesome that guy has pretty much taught me how to shoot a bow from the ground up.I really appreciate all the guys up there thank you for everything

The only reason Im giving them 5 stars is because I cant give them 6. Incredibly reasonable merchandise and service prices. They worked for half an hour to remove a stripped out screw and only charged me a couple bucks. My bowsmith retired and I definitely found my new go-to.

This is an all around amazing place! To start, The pricing is great, I got a good never before used for an amazing price! Second, The service is great, they (despite many people being there) got to us in a matter of minutes to ask what we were looking for and help us find other items. I’m very please with there service and quality and would highly recommend it.

Went up to get my bow checked after it was dry fired by a buddy. Im sure they could have easily took me to the cleaners, and didnt. Got me set back up in about 15 mins for an awesome price. Ill definitely be heading back there again.

This pro shop has friendly and knowledgeable people. They treat you like a friend as soon as you walk through the door. I don’t get that at any other shop in town. Have been into this store multiple times, each time I was greeted by staff and not pressured. When I had questions, they would promptly answer when they were able. Recently, I had decided to upgrade my bow, and went in with an open mind.Chris set me up with 3 different bows to try, and after I told my friend that I liked the solid backwall of one particular model, he overheard the comment and suggested another brand of bow that he promptly set up for me and allowed me to shoot. Eventually, I did purchase a new bow from the facility, and he waited patiently for me to return to my house and retrieve my old bow to transfer the equipment over. He even lengthened the cord on my drop away rest in order to properly fit it on the new bow.After set up, I was allowed to use the range as much as I needed to for sighting in and getting comfortable with the bow. I was allowed to paper tune the bow (with the help of the staff) and was even able to use the chronograph to find exactly what speed by bow was shooting.Overall, customer service was awesome, product selection was awesome, and after seeing some prices of items online, prices are very competitive. Better than big-box-store selection with the small home-town customer service. Fully recommend all my friends to the professionals at James River Archery... they will do you right.

I just went in today and I am a self taught shooter who shot well but had room for improvement. James River Archery has made me a much better and my groups are at 2 inches instead of 3 inch groups repeatedly. They really know there stuff and are very helpful people. Never going anywhere else.!

I just went today 2 JAN 2019 from Fort Leonard Wood MO to have my Mathews Z7 set up to me. There’s shops around base but none can surpass the friendliness and professionalism of these guys working here. Im very pleased with the service and expert advice and not push to buy the latest and greatest. I will definitely be back often m. Thanks again guys you’re awesome and the range is nice. This shop is the best one Ive been to. Chris is a genius with tuning and everything else you could ask for. They have the best selection of everything in town from bows, to camo, to trail cams, to stands. Seemed somewhat unskilled. At least the technician I got. I had an Apache drop away rest installed on my PSE bow. The rest came with rubber guards to put over the string to protect from the clamp. He almost didnt put them on before I said something. I shot a couple times the rubber bottom Y that gets glued to the bow came flying off. I shot some more noticed I was still having contact issues. He trimmed the arms down on the rubber. I mentioned the fact that the bottom base of the rest was below the bows riser. He didnt want to raise it cause it would throw the knock loop and peep sight off. Duh. Claimed it should be clearing now. Its not. I had a family emergency at home and was trying to get back as fast as possible. I was there when they opened their doors. The only thing they did that I appreciated was selling me on my B3 release. Reminds me of my fletch Hunter release. But over all so not impressed.

First time going into the shop and it was for an emergency fix. Very nice! I dealt with Chris and from my experience with him in the past. Hes always professional and does a precise job. Will be going back!

Such nice guys! We came here mainly to use the range because they offered a membership rather than paying each time we come to shoot. My boys just got into archery through their school, so we wanted a safe place to practice regularly. I bought a genesis bow on Amazon because thats what they used at school. But Im in way over my head because I dont know a thing about archery. We brought our new bow in and these guys didnt hesitate to help us set up the bow, free of charge. They then informed us that they dont charge for kids in archery through the school to use the range. They were so patient with my boys and my many questions, and were full of advice on shooting and how to care for our new bow, even though we didnt purchase it there.

I went in to see if my string or cable needed replaced or reserviced. I also asked to have the crossbow tuned. I was having trouble getting it sighted in. When I came in they were busy so I paid and left. When I got home I shot it and it was more inconsistent. I looked it over and the serving was wrapped over the original and the cams arent even close to being tuned. I went in due to the amazing reviews Id read. Unfortunately it was a month before bow season so I think my cheap crossbow got a rush job to get me out the door.

Im getting ready to have major shoulder surgery and Chris and the boys fixed me up today with a new TenPoint crossbow. I chose to buy this crossbow from James River instead of Bass Pro due to the knowledge of the staff and the fact that these guys can fix or work on whatever you purchase. I am thrilled with the purchase although I may have to eat ramen noodles for a month but the bow was definitely spot-on right out of the box! This is a great store with knowledgeable staff and their prices are comparable with other Sporting Good Outlets. I definitely recommend these guys for the serious bow shooter/hunter. Made my 3rd trip in there last night. First was browsing and talking, shot a new bow. (Which I cant afford) 2nd time I brought in a bow I was going to purchase and they helped me decide I could do better. Last night I brought one in I bought used and the manager (Chris) helped me set it up, tune it, got it in time and cut me some arrows. Great guy. Friendly and helpful even though I didnt buy the bow there. Cant wait to go back!

This is Shawn Padgett and I am a competitive 3d shooter and hunter, we now have a pro shop in springfield for the first time in a long time.I have been coming into the shop lately and hanging out and watching them work with customers and the shop is going to be a good one, they have a variety of brands of bows and lots of good quality products on the walls so you can find what you need.

Walked in there with my son and his Barnett Youth Bow. We needed a new bow string put on and peep reattached. Guys at the counter acted like we were a bother, guess they thought the cheap bow was not worth it. Said they had no bow strings for that bow and would probably have to order it, but did not offer to do so. One associate was talking to his buddies laughing and joking and just plain stuck his nose up at us when we walked in. I understand this was a cheap bow, but a business has to understand, that if they take care of the little things, then business will return to them. Plus it is the right thing to do, no matter what. I am currently in the market for me a brand new bow and willing to spend up to a grand for the right one, But I will never step foot back in this place again with the rudeness we were given. Ended up going to the parking lot, ordered the correct bow string on Amazon, got it in two days and put it and the peep sight on myself. With all the youtube videos and help from the internet, no wonder places like this are losing out to Amazon. They never got my business and they never will now. There is an old saying, YOU ONLY GET ONE CHANCE TO MAKE A FIRST IMPRESSION.

Well had a new string and rest put on my bow here. Afterwards they either forgot a screw or forgot to tighten it and fell out after the string got put on. Because my bow was squeaking first time i shot it then had them put a new screw in it and went on a hunt like week later and the string popped off when i went to shoot at a deer. the guy told me it happens all they time, Ive never had strings pop off of any other bows Ive had so I went in they put it back on and the owner was there helping me and I told him that if they would give me 200 for my bow which is a good and 2011 model bow I would buy another even though I spent over 250 on that bow 2 or 3 weeks before that in there and he said idk I have to ask and told me well she said no so for now on me and everyone I talk to and know I will tell them to take their business somewhere else

Customer service was aweful. Instead of answering with educated answers they just gave me the run around as if they didnt even know about the products they are selling. They were rude and arrogant. I would not recommend this bow shop to anyone. Im also suprised to see how many 5 star reviews they have on here. Everyone I have talked to has had a similar experience as I have. There are much more professional now shops in town and surrounding areas. Its sad that they are the only local Matthews and Elite dealer in town. Hopefully they dont get Hoyt or Bowtech.
