I could spend hours and lots of money here. They have a huge selection of art supplies,(obviously.) They are reasonably priced,and knowledgeable about the things they sell. Theres a lot of value in shopping somewhere they know what theyre doing. They also do custom framing,and have lots of styles to choose from. The only thing that I would have liked to see, is more polymer clay. The shelf was low on stock. Overall, thats pretty a minor thing in comparison to the rest of the good things about this store.

Really nice art supply shop. Anything from custom frames to pinstriping supplies. Been in business for 51 years. Very helpful and knowledgable staff!

Great little place. Sad to see such a long standing business closing. However hopefully the couple will enjoy their retirement. Check it out while you still can.

This place was awesome! I loved chatting with the people that worked there and sharing some of my new artist questions. Shopping here made me love this art hobby/addiction even more and I can not wait to go back to buy more supplies. I bought a sta-wet kit I had been searching for and fun coloring projects for my teen. This store had just about anything u could want and need.

I was initially sad to see this place closing. After the absolutely horrible treatment I received because I cannot wear masks, I am glad to see them gone. One of the men in there is the rudest sales person I have ever dealt with. Good riddance.

If youre looking for art or drafting supplies and equipment or you want to frame a painting or a photograph, this is the place you want to visit. My wife and I recently reframed a very old painting of Amsterdam. Their expertise, the broad selection of frames and mats gave this painting an extra brilliance it hadnt seen in quite some time. I highly recommend National Art Shop.

I seriously love this shop. Their staff is super friendly/helpful and the quality/prices of their products is way better than the big chain art stores here in town. I also had a custom frame done by them and it was beautiful. If you havent checked them out yet, youre missing out!

I love this place. Totally worth visiting if you have a knack for art, they have some good quality stuff for cheaper then you would find them at other places! The shop itself is nice with quality inventory. However, unlike previous reviewers, my first visit to National Art Shop was tainted by Weber. Weber was apathetic to our requests for his expertise - and this extended to both me and my son. Weber had an overall lack of willingness to assist. I strive to support locally owned small businesses....I just wish I would have had the same good experience as other reviewers.

They cater to a market that is underserved by the big boxes. Unfortunately the owners are retiring and the store is closing by the end of June, 2021.

An excellent array of supplies at normal prices. They also have a great selection of lovely, funky, or curious gift items. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I found everything I needed and more. They are also a frame shop and can help you with those needs.You can get some of these supplies online or at big box stores but the prices are similar and its nice to be able to put my money into a local business.

I was raised in a customer service family which seems to be something that has disappeared I was shopping for a 12 year old great nephew that is liking art and I had very good customer service very helpful and explain very well persis is not something I shop for on a regular basis but it seems like it would be costly to be into art very helpful Im at the 60 year-old mark and have no children so I only have nieces and nephews

Theyre going out of business so everything is on sale.

I was looking for quality, but reasonably priced, epoxy resin. They carry two kinds and multiple sizes. The man there was very helpful and knowledgeable. This store is packed with art supplies, especially hard to find items. Ill be back.

They have about everything you would need for a project. Staff is helpful. It has an intimate, old-school feel. Their supplies can be a bit.more expensive than. Hobby Lobby, but they carry the best brands of pens and inks and brushes.

Great place to shop. Quality products at an affordable price. Excellent customer service. They know about the products they sell and take the time to answer your questions. Custom framing is superb from sales to finish. All work is done by experienced personnel who are experts in their field.

The employees here are very nice and always helpful, especially when you are looking for art supplies for a specific art class at Mo State. Still, I cant help but feel like everything is just a little more expensive here. Maybe its just my imagination. Its business hours are also not the most convenient.

Store was very well kept and clean on the inside and the outside lot as well. Was able to receive assistance in finding the item I was searching for within moments of entering the store. Staff walked me to the proper area and provided advice on selection of product. Will return again for hobby craft needs.

I am very new at painting and needed some supplies to display my work. The staff was SO helpful and encouraging. Even if it is a little pricey, it is worth it to support a business that truly cares about their customer and is invested in their work. Very happy with my experience and will be returning!

First time wont be the last very cool store

Me and a friend came into the store because we wanted to visit but didnt have the time until recently. Me and friend are African American and didnt have a good store experience. We were being watched and followed around the store, after constantly telling the workers we didnt need help. The store is nice but the treatment towards customers; not so much.

Small, but vetted selection. Much better quality than one can get at Michaels or Hobby Lobby, but the price is much higher also. Great selection of books and cards. Best place in town for serious art supplies. Staff is always asking if you need help, which is nice - but makes me feel as if I am being watched the whole time.

National Art Shop has a plethora of art supplies. A lot of quality items at good prices. Perfect for a committed artist! Love the charcoal selection as well as the multiple colors of drawing paper available! They had black, grey, and tan in stock in multiple sizes!

This store is any artist dream. I fell in love with this store the moment I walked in. I wish I was wealthy so I could just buy all the things I wanted in here! Love it.

Great place, so much stuff, literally all you could ever ask for in an art store. However, is it possible for staff to be too helpful? My mom and I go in periodically, she is artistic she knows what she is looking for and wants to browse since she is from out of town. The staff are up on you at every turn and kind of over explain to my mom as if she is elderly.. which appears disrespectful and rude. She might spend a while looking at the various kinds of paint pens and choosing colors but gets watched as if she is pocketing something. Nothing wrong with observant staff but sometimes its a matter of asking for help if you need it beyond the initial greeting. But its a fun place. We like it!

Im not even sure where to begin when describing National Art Shop. This place has everything you could possibly need for any kind of art you could want to produce. The staff were extremely knowledgeable in many, MANY different forms of Art! I am a pastels/chalk/pencil artist from Las Vegas and I have not seen a selection like theirs since I was back home in Nevada! The store had a fantastic layout, everything is grouped very nicely according to style and media and in every section the peripherals selection was just out of this world. The only downside to this store and it may just be because of the area that we are in was the pricing was 10 to 15% higher than anywhere Ive been -which is to be expected- in a destination area like Springfield. You may pay a tiny bit more for the huge selection but they more than make up for it in professionalism, quality, quantity, and good old-fashioned know how!

Support this store; the prices may scare you, but Hobby Lobby and the like mark up just as high for mediocre supplies and small selection, as they mostly focus on crafts and decor. This shop has actual variety and selection in supplies, and informed staff.
