I had an appointment for 10 am but had to drop my Journey off at 8 to meet with the doctor. I needed an oil change, tires rotated, and a front end alignment. By 9:50 my Journey was done. Not only did they do it in a timely manner, but did it so I had it right away. They also quoted a price that was very reasonable. When I went to pick it up, it was less than quoted. Bob, Matt did a great job and explained exactly what was done. Its nice to have businesses treat women like they do understand. Have always taken my old cars here for oil changes and now my new one for anything else. Thank you, for the great experience once again!!

After my first experience I thought this was a great shop, but after this last time I will not be returning and dont recommend. I went in to have a new rim put on and they didnt seal it all the way. I didnt know this at the time so I drove my car that day and the following day, the next day I woke up to my tire completely flat and my rim on the garage floor. My neighbor let me know it was due to not being sealed and aired it up so i could get it back to Derringers. They sealed it correctly and I was on my way. After visiting discount tire about a separate matter they told me that tire had a heat ring and needed to be replaced. All my tires are a year and a half old. I asked what would cause that and he said driving on a very low tire. Well the only time I did that was when I didnt know it wasnt sealed. Back to Derringers I go and they took zero responsibility, Tracy actually got a little attitude with me about it starting that they were good people and wouldnt do that but after talking to Bob about the situation and him checking my current tire pressure, which was perfect, I said the only time my tire was ever low was when you guys didnt seal it and it hasnt been touched since you sealed it and now I need a new tire.. he said Ya that is very strange. I could tell he knew it was their fault but he still had no intention of replacing my now ruined tire. They also gave me an alignment and told me flat out afterward that I didnt really need it and charged me. So $120 at derringer for a rim put on and an alignment I didnt need + $122 for a new tire at discount tire later, I do not recommend service at Derringers, while they seem like nice people at first under pressure of something wrong that was not the case and they dont take responsibility for their work.

Highly recommend for service they were friendly, it was a quick oil change they didnt pressure into buying extra stuff, and most of all it was affordable😁😁😆

I have been working with Bob and Tracey since they started Derringers. Bob is A honest mechanic that doesnt overcharge or try to replace things that dont really need to be replaced. That is truly hard to find these days, I not only take my personal vehicles to him but trust them to take care of my companies vehicles as well. Tracey is well educated in the workings and business in the shop and very friendly. They are good people and I will continue to send business to them as well as suggest them to friends and family.

Quality vehicle repair shop with extremely honest owners. Ive been going to this shop for at least a decade now. I dont hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Honestly, I tell people that I trust the Derringers like I trust my own mother. If that doesnt say something, I dont know what else would. Many years ago, during the first few years after moving to the Springfield area (before I found out about this shop), I had several bad experiences with various other vehicle repair shops in the area. I trust very few of them. Its NOT like that here at this shop. They absolutely wont sell you something you dont need. They dont need a brand name (aka Meineke) up there on the sign because they put their family name on their work!

This place relieved so much stress from my shoulders. Very friendly people, the repair was done quickly and quality was done well. Within 10 minutes of getting my car in, they had it back in the bay and called me to tell me that it was only the resonator and that it was only going to be $139.

I dropped his car off at their shop and later that day they called and said they found a loose wire. I asked them what do I owe you, they said nothing! Great Service.

I had Derringer put on custom dual exhaust on my truck. They did it for exactly what they told me it was going to cost and exceeded my expectations for speed and quality. I will always go here anytime I need professional auto care. Afterward they genuinely cared about how I felt about the work they did. Absolutely fantastic group of honest and talented people!

Fast service and price right new pipes

Went in to get a standard oil change. The guy told me that I needed a new headlight bulb and a new turn signal light. I let him do the service. Paid and left. When night came I went outside to check my lights come to find out they busted my tail light assembly ( Not cracked but busted the red glass out). No way to prove they did it so Ill have to invest another 50-100 dollars plus labor into getting a new one installed.The assembly is less than 6 months( brand new )old I just bought it. Just wow.Went up there today. Theyre on vacation!!!They will never service my vehicle again.Unprofessional, dishonest folks.Not to mention they overcharged me for both bulbs.*This review has been edited for details

Until today....Never before have I been told that I cannot receive a non-binding quote for a service over the phone. Even after requesting to speak with or leave a message with the owners and being told by a female employee that they were too busy to talk and I understand Sir, but.... I had to end my conversation and carry on to another place of business. Thankfully Lauterbach didnt act like a non-binding quote is unheard of. I have been a customer of Joe and Bob for years and have had the best experience with exhaust systems, brakes, etc on my Cadillacs, Lincolns, Fords, and more. Maybe if Joe or Bob answer the line next time I will return.

They usually have a good deal on oil changes. If the wait time is going to be long they let you know ahead of time. I usually get the basic oil change but there are more choices.

Tracy the owner was very unprofessional & rude. She was having a conversation with another person instead of addressing the homeless outside she called them bums then told me to get out and I never had to return after asking questions about my vehicle. As a woman business owner she was very unprofessional & rude & very disrespectful I really really miss Joe ugh!

Ive been doing business at Derringers for nearly 20 years and intend to keep that up for important reasons: 1) because Bob and his crew get the job done; 2) their prices are fair and their bills are true; and, 3) Bob and Tracy have shown themselves over and over to be honest folks sincerely interested in helping honest people fix their cars.

Shade tree mechanics! Save yourself the extra money! I came here for an oil change and they told me i needed power steeering and antifreeze. I declined because i knew for a fact my other fluids were up to par. I wake up the next day to my car screeching like a cat!!! I pop my hood to look around to find that my antifreeze and power steering fluid was DRY! THEY EMPTIED ME OUT! After the sabotage they sent me on my way all because i only wanted the services i came for. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Kind of a fast-food of auto service. Well except they take a long time even if you have an appointment. The charge a lot for service thats one-size-fits-all. They will do the job their way for a flat fee or they wont do it at all. For example if you have one worn down brake pad, they will replace all the pads and all the rotors on the car or they will refuse to do anything. The attitude is like theyre doing you a favor. There doesnt seem to be any sense of urgency or punctuality. Despite having an appointment it took over an hour to get the car into a bay for a diagnosis that took 5 minutes. It was 2 1/2 hrs from when we dropped it off to when we were able drive away with a basic oil change.

I really appreciate being able to make an appointment for an oil change. I hate taking my chances somewhere and just hoping I can get in. Derringers gets me right in and out at my appointment time. Love that!

This is my favorite auto repair shop. I really trust their advice, which is nice because I dont really know anything about cars, so I need someone who will tell me the truth.

Staff Ive interacted with has been friendly. Prompt with their repairs and dont charge for advice. Only downside is they cant do more than basic analysis or car repair, mainly changes and rotations from what I can tell.

Extremely rude older front desk lady with dirty blonde hair (If you see her, walk out) handed my keys back to me and said here let me make this easy for you. after I complained that although I had a appointment for 230 they werent able to keep that time. I also complained because When I scheduled the appointment I made it clear we needed our engine listened to and serviced possibly but they only knew about our oil change. Horrible customer service and did not receive any help. I was handed my keys back and had to walk out without understanding or reasoning for my situation.

I have been going to this establishment for years for oil changes and tire rotation, when it was Meineke Auto Care, and never had a problem. Service was good and reasonably priced. Last week on 9/29/14, I took my 2010 Edge for a routine oil change and tire rotation, as I was leaving for vacation. All was well until 10/9/14. While driving in the Cumberland Mountains in Eastern Kentucky, my left rear tire began to make a horrible thumping noise. We had pulled into a small town and got out to look at the tire. What I saw almost made me vomit. Two of my lug nuts on the rear left tire WERE GONE! Luckily, there was a Ford dealership nearby and we took the car there for them to look at. They said the tire was ready to fall off.....I will repeat this. THE TIRE WAS READY TO FALL OFF! We were driving in an area in the Cumberland Mountains that had very steep grades, hills and valleys. We only stopped where we did on a whim. If we had kept going, Im fairly sure I would not be writing this review right now. When I took the repair bill in to Derringers to be reimbursed, and mind you, the bill was only $42.14 (5 new lug nuts and checking all the other lug nuts to make sure they werent loose also plus labor), I tried to emphasize to the manager that they had better address this issue with their staff, so this does not happen again to another customer, with possibly horrific consequences. He was apologetic, but not really all that concerned, saying that he wished he could have seen the car at the time. Are you kidding me?! There was nothing to see, except the lack of enough lug nuts to keep the wheel on the car!!! I got my money for the repair, and told the very full waiting room to not get their tires rotated there. I will not be going back to Derringers for anything.

I will never take my car to them again. I have been taking my car to them for oil changes sense I got it and I was experiencing problems with my front end. Took in the said I Was leaking power steering from the rack and it needed to be replaced I took my car to another shop and they said they wouldnt even give me my keys back because the rack was broke in the front and the baring was broke the whole front end was messed up and I had no idea because they did tell me and it could of killed me so I will never in life be bring my car back.
