Every visit I have had at the store has been an exceptional experience! Each and every member of the staff has been friendly and extremely knowledgable. The advice and assistance I received from the staff has far exceeded my expectations.
Getting back into something can be hard. Especially with as fast as things change. I wanted a camera shop close to me. When I walked into the store I was overwhelmed at first by the products and services. Rick was fast to offer help and never made me feel like I was asking a dumb question. He was able to point out pro’s and con’s of various gear and help guide me toward my stated goals. I have been in several times now. The print services are off the chart, you must try them! I also want to say Thank You to Randy, as the store manager he sets the tempo, and not only is he a great camera guy, his leadership shows in the people that work for them. Hands down this needs to be your first stop.
An excellent place for all your camera needs and photo prints on many different print media. The personnel are the best and will assist you because they care.
I visited the store three times and was literally harassed by a young woman three times. This same young woman literally got in my personal space while telling me I would never be able to afford the type of camera gear I was interested in and would never get it. Im sure that the meager money I spent of 6,000 plus on camera gear does not matter to them. But B&H Photo online appreciated my business.
These guys are FANTASTIC! Wish I could leave them 10 stars. I had an SD card break off in my camera & Jim spent at least 20 minutes getting it out for me. He was so patient & so kind! Then another guy (didn’t get his name) ended up recovering all the photos off the broken SD card for me. I am so grateful & they definitely saved me sooo much money. I couldn’t thank them enough! 120% recommend them to anyone!

Bought a used lens yesterday. Its amazing. All the camera things you need . They also do rentals. They do classes too. My salesman Rick Orrell was extremely helpful. Showed me the lens I bought on his camera to show me how well it works. Several stores. Will definitely go back.
I have spent over $30,000.00 with Bedford at the same store and they still dont even know my name! I called up there on Wed and asked if they had a Sony FE 24-70mm GM Lens and the guy said yes and I said hold it for me until Friday which was only two days! So I went up there today and they were selling my lens to someone else! They said this lady ordered it a week ago then why did you tell me you had one and would hold it for me! I I was supposed to leave town on Monday to go to Bend Oregon for two weeks! Had the plane tickets bought had the hotel room paid for and I have been waiting to go on this trip for about a year plus it was my Birthday! And Bedford screwed it all up they have the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE of any company I have EVER seen in my entire life! Their prints are terrible I bought to metal prints and one was cracked and chipped and was printed in vertical when it was supposed to be landscape mode! If this is the way you are going to treat customers I will NEVER go to this place ever again!!! I messaged Jeff Beauchamp on Linkedin who is the President of Bedford Camera and told him about the way I have been treated!!! So I WOULD STAY FAR AWAY FROM BEDFORD CAMERA & VIDEO UNLESS YOU WANT THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF ANY BUSINESS PERIOD!!!
Walked in dropping off my order and expecting to pick up in two or three days. Picked up approximately 1 hour later and excellent service. Very pleased!
They can do it all....photo processing, creative enlargements, downloading video to a thumb drive, equipment sales & service....very quick and attentive.The BEST in Springfield, MO....by far.

I didnt really go in for a camera (I was looking for something to extend the life of my 13yr old DSLR) but I did leave with one. Rick helped point me to the one that would fit my needs perfectly. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase and everyone on staff was so helpful and informative. Rick got the camera all set up for me so I would be set to go to shoot a wedding the next day. I used to work in a camera store very similar to Bedfords and it was an absolute pleasure to be able to walk in and talk to knowledgeable staff who really want to help you with your photography needs. Theres no other place in the Ozarks like this and youd be a fool not to purchase your camera and equipment from Bedfords. This is hands down the best photography shop.
Mary was very helpful. She showed me many different cameras and lenses. I didnt feel rushed even though I asked a ton of questions! They have a great selection of cameras and accessories.
As someone who is new to the photography world I was a little intimidated to go into an actual Camera business. I can tell you that the staff at Bedford Camera & Video has absolutely wonderful, unintimidating, helpful, and such a great resource! They always have gone above and beyond every time I go into their business.I highly recommend them if you need a camera, accessories, classes, or any advice/tips. They are able to bring their vast camera knowledge down to the beginner level for me to understand all while not making me feel inferior or intimidated.
Today I went in there after trying multiple ways to get a VERY important video put on a dvd from my phone for a lifelong friend. They told me it would be a week before it was ready, I explained that her father is on hospice and doesn’t have much longer and that it is a video my daughter got on my phone from her wedding of her father daughter dance last October. He immediately grabbed my phone and said, I’ll get it made right now. To know there are people out there that still have a great heart is amazing! They will have my business for life along with others!!!!!

I would advise not shopping at Bedford Camera. Im all for supporting local (even though technically this is a chain that started in Arkansas) however, this is not a unique shopping experience; there is literally nothing in this store that cant be found online (for half the price at that matter, dont be fooled--Bedford is grossly overpriced...) I sincerely challenge you to find one service or product in this store that cant be found or purchased online. Heck, even Adorama has a digital lab and offers film developing and enlargements. On top of that, the customer service is below average and the staff are rather snarky--which leaves me wondering, why should I give you my business?This is the type of brick and mortar store that preys on customers who may lack the knowledge about pricing of cameras and services while the employees pretend you are getting an incredible deal. In reality, you are being overcharged and they know it. This is also the only camera store in a 100 mile radius, which they are fully aware of and use to their advantage to charge through the nose since they have no physical competition. I would not shop here if my life deepened on it. But hey, if you are looking for a camera shop where the staff belittles you when you ask simple questions politely and tease you when you walk out the door, look no further!

Monopoly. Bedford is the only camera store in Springfield and they are well-aware of it. I have walked into this store and browsed for several minutes, and was never even acknowledged by an employee. Other times, Ive had great service. Its a toss-up which Bedford Ill walk into on any given day. Austin in the film lab is by far their best employee and they should be paying him more. Hell actually make conversation with me and work with me to make sure Im getting the best service possible. However, when Ive worked with others, its a different story. Some of them make me feel like I dont matter in their store. I just called and asked if my scans were ready, and Rick said yes. I drive across town to get them, then he says itll be an hour until he can drag and drop NINE files onto my flash drive because somebody else is using their only computer to crop a photo on Photoshop for somebody else. I said I didnt have an hour and he didnt seem to care, he just handed my flash drive back to me. All I ask of you is to make an effort to help me out, but you acted like there was nothing you could do and just let me leave the store very dissatisfied. Experiences like this make me wish I could open my own film lab so that Bedford would make more of an effort to keep me as a customer rather than knowing that I have nowhere else to go.
The staff at Bedford in Springfield have been so helpful in my personal search for a new camera. I am however more grateful for their enthusiasm and donation of their time to my 4H Photography group. We traveled from Avilla, MO to attend Mr. Dan’s camera essentials class not really knowing if it would be appropriate for the age group of kids I have in my group (8-16) but he was amazing. We ALL learned so much. We are all planning on more class time with Mr. Dan. I also feel I need to mention the manager, Mr. Randy. He not only helped me get all this set up but has continued to bless our group. I wholeheartedly recommend Bedford Springfield to everyone. Thank you for all your help

I was met at the door following a phone call in the am just prior to their opening. I needed a reprint from an old negative for a special family event and was driving out of town in a couple of days. They printed two 4 x 6s for me and when I asked them how much they said no charge for funerals (and weddings). The prints were beautiful and were for a memory board of lost loved ones that couldnt be at our sons wedding.Thank you again and I will be back!
The guy was honest with us about transferring a tape recording to our computer. He told us what to do and it didnt cost us a penny. It worked perfectly. Well definitely be back for other products and services as a result of their honesty and professionalism.
Springfield is very fortunate to have a high quality photography store. Not only does Lawrence carry a large variety of top-name photo products, but their staff members are very polite, knowledgeable and trustworthy. You will never be given information or suggestions from them that are not totally honest and trustworthy. I have utilized Lawrence Photo for over 25 years and have never once had a problem. The fact that you can walk in and ask questions of experienced staff, but you have hands on experience with their products. And not least, the vast majority of the time, you can leave the store with whatever product you were seeking--no waiting for a shipment from people you do not know.Ed Vaughn
ABOVE the normal service for Bedford which is ALWAYS .Par Excellence ! Im typing on an Android Verdon S5 that has gone scuba diving with me . I was given one of the 10 x telescopic lenses that attaches over the lens. A) it does, indeed, work. B ) trying to hold it steady by hand DOES NOT work. I could have a holder to go on my tripod on the net but want to SUPPORT LOCAL and went to the store. They did not have one, had never sold one.. The Salesperson, who has been there for decades ( when another owner ) got on a phone called around, found one and had it shipped to the store without asking me, because we need them in the store . COST ? .. I checked in the car . LESS than on the net Great store, great inventory, great PEOPLE!

I can certainly understand the need to charge for this service as opposed to on-line shopping. I will continue to purchase the items I need, that are actually in stock, from this excellent team.I do not confuse management decisions with a teams ability.

I was looking for a place to make a print of some of my original artwork. I really was looking for a place that was going to make a really high quality print that wasnt going to break my wallet. This place really delivered! I am incredibly impressed with the quality of the print, even when I made the print size larger than the original artwork size (which I was worried was going to make the image blurry). The staff at the Campbell location was also very nice!For anyone worried about quality, as long as you go in with a decent quality image, the print will come out amazing!I will definitely be coming here again!
Excellent service. Jim W. was incredibly helpful. I just got a film SLR and shot through my first roll of film. Went to have film developed and my negatives came out blank. Jim inspected my camera to make sure it was operating properly, which it was. He checked the batteries and all mechanical functions as well and was very diligent and knew what he was doing. I shot through a roll of film as a test and it turns out I loaded the camera improperly the first time. There was no cost for having the 2 rolls of film developed and all of the assistance and support from Jim even though I had no clear intention of making a purchase or anything at that point. He even went through the trouble of finding an extra camera strap I could have.I just want to say thank you to Jim and the rest of the staff for the excellent service. Ill definitely be back for all of my film and development needs.
My experience at this store was extremely positive. Excellent and friendly customer service which emphasized listening to what I needed and taking time to make sure I got the right product for my needs. Every staff person I encountered there was knowledgeable, professional and helpful.
I wanted my family VHS videos turned into DVDs but had no idea how to do this. I also did not want my VHS tapes sent to another location. They transferred the old tapes into DVDs in house, and called to let me know the work was done. Quick, excellent, friendly service. I will use this service again soon!

First time in the store today. Pretty novice when it comes to camera/lenses. Appreciated the help the staff gave me. Didn’t try to upsell me anything and prices were actually better than I could get online right now. Definitely appreciated their honesty (thought I needed a new ring flash and instead I just needed a $9.99 adaptor) and their customer service.
I took my two canon cameras in along with my lens that were insanely dusty and dirty. I am a professional equine photographer so my cameras are always in arenas and outside in the dust. I am heavily booked through the summer/fall....I didnt have enough time to send my cameras to canon to have them cleaned and have my main camera and lens calibrated (I have zero patience to do it myself). I told them my main camera and lens were off and not focusing like they should, so I was stuck using my back up camera. Both my cameras came back CLEAN! They looked brand new!!!!! Not to mention they did a great job calibrating it and even took the time to show me how and to explained to me some stuff. How nice of them to take time out to teach someone !!!! I will be back and keep my business with them whenever I dont have time to take my cameras into canon !!!! Great job everyone!!!!! Thank you thank you thank you !!!
Maybe on the coolest stores Ive every been in. I had a issue with my sony and it ended up being user error, they didnt make me feel stupid or anything. Would highly recommend taking your camera there for any issues.

Knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly staff!!! As a photographer, there are many online sites where I could purchase my equipment but I prefer to do business with Lawrence Photo. Its not only nice to have a local place to shop, but if I need service...well, I would much prefer to deal with people I know and trust.
I had gone in about a year ago to get my camera fixed. They helped me get the service I needed albeit for a price as the middle man, but it was fast.Two weeks ago, I went in to get a camera for my friend with their mom. I had an idea of what it was going to cost and what type of camera we were looking for. That said, the staff was more than happy to answer our questions about the avaliable cameras and help form our eventual purchase decisions.

I have been shopping at this Bedford Location before it was Bedford, back in the days of Lawrence Photo. Shopping at this location has always been a positive experience for the following reasons. 1. The staff, which originated with Lawrence, then coming over to Bedford is knowledgeable, they know their stuff, and are happy to impart their knowledge without being condescending. 2. Their staff is patient and want to make sure the customer leaves with the product that will serve them best. 3. Bedford does not employ high pressure selling techniques, I have walked in there on numerous occasions just to look, told them upfront I would not be purchasing anything that day, yet am still treated with the utmost respect. Could one save a few dollars by going online to purchase? Yes and no, but there are reasons Bedford is surviving as a brick and mortar store, one of them being, you can not put a price on excellent service.

Wow what great service!I took my camera in as I could not load the Flash Card .It turned out to be that connection pins had been distorted.Really given the age of my camera sending to a repair specialist would not be financially viable.However, they volunteered to attempt a recovery, which they did successfully, at no cost .Real old fashion expert service !When I replace my equipment this will be the place I will be using .Thanks

They were able to quickly remove my broken (bent and stuck) filter from a dropped lens without scratching the lens. Did not give 5 stars due to charging sales tax on the service which is not required by state of MO, and raises suspicion of possible sales tax overcharging fraud.

Here I have a mixed review because two, out of the three staff I spoke with were very kind. However, when I spoke to the manager I told him I would look back at home to see if I could get a better price and he immediately was done with me. Well, Walton at Best Buy wasnt that way and he met with me several time. I ended up buying as Canon 80D, two extra lenses, a tri pod, camera bag, two batteries and several cards. I also ended up buying a Tamron 70-200 lens. They didnt have one, but he still let me know of what in would be getting it intent that direction. How many times a year do you lose thousands of dollars off a bad attitude. I hope its just this once, because would live to build a relationship with your company. See you soon!Update:I went there April 14th and was very pleased to see such a change. I went in looking for a camera bag and spoke a sales person who was very good and lead me to the right backpack. He has a wife who works there as well and she she lead me to a lens I had been looking for, but didnt realize the name or the low cost. So I bought it too. Now here is the kicker, the Manager recognized my name and personally came to apologize for my experience. This is huge and one of only a few times this has ever happened.Guys, like I said, I want these places to do well so we have a option of not just buying online. Keep up the great work, and Ill be back!

Consistently price matches Amazon and staff approached me when they were free to help. The guy assisting was knowledgeable and let me test a lens with my rig before purchase. Not as big as you would think from the outside, but they have a good selection for Springfield.

I went to Bedford Camera on Tuesday this week when I realized that when I removed my sd card from my computer it erased over a thousand pictures from my card . The employees are always very helpful but this time they saved me . They were able to pull the deleted pictures off of the card and put it on a dvd disc .They not only saved me but did not charge me.

I went into Bedford the other day (in hopes they had different staff from when it was Lawrence) unfortunately I recognized almost everyone. Ive had multiple issues in the past with attitude and treating me like a child (I get I look young, but I am a twenty-something and age is no reason to treat someone poorly). Just to preface, I have 8 years of darkroom experience. I came to Bedford to purchase some film for a roadtrip to the Pacific Northwest. When the staff asked me what speed I wanted I hesitated, knowing I would be shooting outdoors however the PNW is not known for its sunshine. So I decided on 3 rolls of 400 speed film. The staff asked if I would be shooting indoors or out. I replied out but that I still wanted the 400. He suggested against that and said I should get the 160 instead. I firmely stated that no, I wanted the 400. So I bought three rolls and didnt bother to check the bag. The day before my trip, while packing, I realized he had gone against what I wanted and gave me two rolls of 160 and only one roll of 400. I was infuriated. I payed for 400 but the staff did not listen to my request and felt he knew better what I needed to be shooting. Low and behold the 160 has been a nightmare to shoot in dark forest lighting. Ive had to stop at a camera store and buy all knew film. I wasted $30 for absolutely nothing. This behavior is unprofessional and dishonest. I will never be back to purchase or process any of my film here. I am completely disgusted by the way I was treated.

This review is not idicative of all their prices, however...I just stopped by to grab some eneloop 1500 AA LSD rechargeables and found them to be double the price of amazon shipped. I mean holy cow! Something that is $9 shipped on amazon new is $19.99 in the store....Thats just insane mark up. Sure they have to pay the rent, but I think they make more then enough on the camera gear to do that. They wont get any of my business for anything ever, period.
