Looking for some exercise equipment and didnt find what I needed but employees helped me with as much as they could...Thank you employees keep up the good work..

Called the Stockton (March Lane) store to see if they had my size shoe, as they were not in stock in Manteca. Was connected with Spencer. He was courteous, gracious and offered to check for me. He did find them and offered to hold them for me (as they were a 1-day sale item). Proceeded to pick them up and he did this all with a smile. Great employee Big 5!!!! Thank you Spencer!!!! 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!!!!

I was looking for combat/military boots and went to 3 different stores... I should have came to Big 5 Sporting Goods first! The staff was super helpful in getting me different sizes and patiently waited while I tried multiple boots and running shoes. While checking out, Isabella was super nice and we would able to use a coupon that my brother found on google. Overall, if you have any outdoor needs, visit Big 5 first! :)

During a time when most brick and mortar stores are losing business due to e-commerce and online stores you would think that they would focus more on customer service.I understand the mask mandate. However I did not have one to wear in the store. Before they even welcomed me they asked about my mask.I told him that I dont have one and that I ran out, but yet they dont give any out to the customers that need them.Little things would go a long way like offering masks to your customers they dont have anymore.Helpful tip when encountering a customer at the front door... Welcome to Big 5. Would you happen to have a mask?A warm welcome would be appreciated before giving orders to a customer. And if a customer does not have one to put on, maybe have some in stock to give away for free. Other companies do it, you should be able to as well if you care about retaining your client base.

They have very good one day sales and you can find just about anything you need there. From sports to clothes just about anything you need

Ive always liked Big 5 here in Stockton primarily because they usually have what i want in athletic gear running shoes camping equipment etc ..on a recent visit though i stumbled upon an act of kindness that was not only heart warming but also done without reserve. I hardly if ever give 5 stars but this is what that last star is for .

Do not shop here. They do not have a customer limit to being inside the building, it was packed inside, there are no Covid-19 precautions Implemented at this other than cashiers wearing masks. Store employees do not care about cleaning their stations after every customer. In my experience when I visited the store on the March lane today there was a woman coughing so hard during her entire shopping visit. None of the employees asked her to leave the store for the sake of public safety. The woman that was coughing and her mask was halfway down her neck complaining of not feeling well. This is very sad and very dangerous and I will never be visiting this big 5 sporting goods store. Also there was an Asian man asking one of the employees to call a nearby big 5 sporting goods store the girl employee lied to the man and said that the item he was looking for at the other location was not available but in reality she spoke in Spanish to another employee saying that the other store did not understand what exercise equipment she was talking about. It is not that hard to explain to someone what a Lift bar. And yes I did speak up and spoke to the manager whose name is Sean and he promised to re iterate the safety procedures to his employees and I did see him call out the employee in question that did not sanitize her station after 10 customers.

What I couldnt find online, I found at Big 5. My granddaughter works at the March Lane store and since I took her to work today I went in to see if they had the items I was in search of. To my surprise they did. The staff are friendly and they do their very best to help you find what youre looking for. I will add that the store is too small for the stock and makes for a crowded shopping adventure.

Every shelf was filled with fully stocked items to a point where it almost was cluttered but atleast the items where there. Could use some better organizing but beats going to the mall when you dont want to deal with parking and lines.

The store is clean and well organized, and I was greeted immediately as I walked inside. They immediately got me the item I had on hold and even opened up a register so I didnt have to wait in line! It was only my first time at this particular store but Id shop here again!

Great i was looking in different places for indoor shoes for my big boy(cheap) and i foun an adidas there i paid just 19 dollars for small kids around 10 dlls

I went there for my hubby to purchase a shotgun..They have great prices for items like this if u are in the market for purchasing one..But be prepared to spend some time in there cause there are quit a few steps u have to go thru..they do a background check..u take a safety test..which takes about an hour..Then if u pass both of those u can pick up your gun in about 10 days..Then when u go pick it up they have u do a demonstration test.. But its worth it!! Im glad they make people go through all these steps so a gun doesnt get in the wrong hands! 😁

Found some good closeout sales and other discounts on snow gear for this winter. Most of the staff were helpful and friendly. There was one that didnt want to be there and made it clear.

( I think it was because Im black and he wanted to low key follow me around anyway lol) he even stood by the dressing room to make sure my sons football girdle fit correctly.. Akward! The guy working in the shoe department on 7/1/17 obviously doesnt like his job and was not helpful. Thankfully another salesperson / manager came along and offered us more help and information. Stockton Big 5 manager has the worst attitude towards colored people. He made me wait 20 minutes when I asked him the price of an item and said hell be back. He stood right infrontbof me maybe 3 to 4 feet away and started chatting to a white guy. I waited for 20 minutes and the cashier asked me if I needed help. She paged somebody to help me. The staff are really nice but the manager definitely has a problem. This is not the first time this has happened. I have already lodged a customer service complaint and will wait and see if Big 5 really is concerned about its customers. Alot of my friends and acquaintances also had a problem of being ignored by this manager when they asked him something. Hopefully management knows that a colored persons money is as good as a white guys money. This kind of people promotes racial division in our society.
