Everyone at Eyecare Eyewear of Summerville has been so great! From making my appointment, having to reschedule my follow-up appointment 3 times because I had stuff come up and they were always great even last minute, choosing my new frames, switching the contacts because the ones the doctor first had me try just werent fitting my eyes right - I hope I was as gracious and thankful as I think I was because they definitely deserved it! I highly recommend them. I just switched from the place I had been going to for like 8 years (switched jobs and insurance). My old place I never really felt like the doctor took the time to get my script right. I felt like even though I would go through the whole better 1, better 2 thing and I would say which was better that I ended up with the wrong script. The eye doctor (for the life of me I cannot remember his name) made sure I had the right script. He had me in contacts but was not convinced what I was seeing was the clearest it could be so he grabbed a powered lens and put it in front of my right eye and had me read both the wall and a hand-held chart. I could see both clearer than without it. He absolutely was making sure I had the best vision possible. Definitely recommend!!! All the staff is super friendly. Thank you, EEOS!

Great, indepth eye exam, doctor shows the images and results of the eye exam for your eyes overall health. I will continue to choose this facility. My coworker had referred their services and it was worth it. Only issue is the Summerville locations parking space is limited at the front of the building. There was a sign for additional and handicap parking in the back. They carry big name brands for their frames like Ray Bans. Nice personnel to help select frames and additional lens features like transitions or blue tint.

The experience was great. The exam was thorough. He had great suggestions and answered all my questions completely. The staff was knowledgeable and helped me pick out the perfect glasses.

Dr. was super nice. Had a great exam for my 7 year old. Rest of the staff was helpful and kind as well.

Best optometrist I have ever visited, seriously. Thorough never rushed. First visit I was comfortable enough to try a new brand/type of contact in 10 years - great decision because now I really like the new contacts, but wouldn’t have made that step with them building trust. When the contacts didn’t “feel” exactly right sitting on my eyes they made a time for me to visit again and spend probably 30 minutes in the chair with the optometrist trying at least 8 different combinations of fittings and strengths until finally BAM perfect contacts! I highly recommend this practice and optometrist. This is my new, long term eyecare home. Thank you for the outstanding experience!

Dr Turner took great care to find exactly what my optical issue was and found the exact correction. The support staff was fun and helpful.The atmosphere is warm and friendly and cozy, unlike the big box feel of the large stores. Love the office set up and ambience.

Eyecare Eyewear is a very friendly and personable establishment. Everyone is very professional and helpful. This was my granddaughter’s first experience with choosing glasses and it went very smoothly.

I ordered my glasses on September 9, 2021 called them on Oct. 5 was told that she was going to call the company that was doing my glasses and told me she was going to call me to let me know what’s going on with them…never called me back. Called again and to told me they were going to call me but never did. Mind you I was told my glasses was coming in within 2 weeks. Very unprofessional never going here again to get my prescription glasses.It’s October 19, 2021 and my glasses aren’t here yet…. Called them several times and it keeps going to voicemail at this point I just want to cancel my order. Very bad business be aware don’t go here bad customer service if you leave a message they don’t call you back.

I havent had new glasses in about 5 years and I kept putting off getting them because I just didnt feel like the hassle of making an appointment, meeting a new doctor, picking new glasses, etc. How did I not know about this amazing place? Everyone was wonderful and they made it so easy for me. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for eye care.

The whole visit was great. Receptionist was friendly. Doctor Carlsson was very nice and easy to speak with. The best were the girls in the eyeglass selection area. Cannot say enough about how helpful and pleasant they were to work with.

Everyone was friendly and helpful, we picked out glasses a even though I have good insurance the total was over $300.00 that was 6 weeks ago. I was told they would take about 2 weeks to come in and after 4 weeks I called and was told they were not in yet. I called last week and asked again how long it normally takes to get glasses and was told around 2 weeks, I then let her know its been over 5 weeks so she said they must have been in a box damaged in shipment so she would check the status and get back yet that day. That was last Thursday and still no call. You got my money that day, I understand things happen but you do have my phone number...

Clean, bright, and friendly office just outside of downtown Summerville. I met with Dr. Chad Carlsson and he was professional, kind, and passionate about what he does! I have worn glasses/contacts for approximately 10 years, and this was the best experience I have had!

Very professional and thorough annual examination by Dr. Carlsson and was able to order Nike brand frames/glasses which are my favorite brand.

I have been going to Eyecare Eyewear of Summerville since 2011. Although I miss seeing Dr. Koets, I was happy with the new doctor, but even happier with the help I got from Toya in picking out my frames. Also my glasses were ready 12 days earlier than when they said they would be ready, so I picked them up yesterday and they so far are my favorite glasses that I have ever had. They are so lightweight, I forgot I had them on.

Staff was courteous and very helpful. Dr. Carlsson was thorough and explained the different steps of the examination. I then met with the skilled young women in the Eyewear office and couldnt have been more thrilled. There expertise and suggestions were just what I needed. Thank you to everyone!

I moved to Summerville 5 years ago and have been using Eyecare Eyeware as my source for exams and eyeglasses. It was always a friendly atmosphere and crowded. Yesterday I went back because my Crizal coatings were coming off my lenses for the 3rd time.When I walked in, there was only one other costumer and I knew right away there was something wrong. They were bought out and the new owners would not honor their commitment to “customer satisfaction” a key component to running a business. They told me it was more than 1 year since I was there and I had no more coverage, they tried to sell me more glasses, exams and new coatings. “Really”They went thru several labs that they were working with because they were getting returns. Obviously the new owners weren’t going to eat the mistakes of these labs. BUYER BEWARE STAY AWAY.

Dr Carlson was pleasant, a good conversationalist and caring and thorough provider.

My 89 year old father needed an exam after 1 year of lock down dure to COVID. It is a major ordeal taking him out, he needs to use a wheelchair and he had to quarantine for 2 weeks after. He had his exam. They were going to charge over $600 for his glasses..so we had to go elsewhere to get them. Another hassle. When he finally received his glasses, he said he could not see with them. He purchased one pair for reading and one for distance. Neither were acceptable. So we went to another doctor. His prescription was TOTALLY wrong. I did find out that the techs do the actual eye exam. The doctor did not even validate that it was correct. Very disappointing to say the least.

This is not the family owned business that I have visited for the last several years. Im not sure exactly when it was bought out, but what I appreciated here WAS the friendly, helpful, honest staff. They are no longer there. You can get in quick for an appointment, but its not worth it. Save your money and go somewhere else- preferably an establishment doesnt have a constantly revolving staff.

Good experience especially with pandemic. Everyone had on masks and made sure to clean and sanitize all instruments and made sure I was also staying clean by washing hands several times inside. Very good visit.

Scheduled an appointment for February 1st at 10:00 a.m., received multiple emails confirming my appointment. One even asking me to make sure I show up 15 minutes early so that I can fill out paperwork and when I arrived at the office I was told there were no doctors on staff and that they had tried to call me to let me know I needed to reschedule. You would think a doctors office would understand the importance of following through with a scheduled appointment, especially one scheduled weeks in advance. Very unprofessional.

I have been wearing reading glasses for 2 years. Dr. Mayfield suggested and explained monovision for contact wearers. It has only been one day but I am so happy that I don’t have to keep up with glasses anymore! Apparently it takes at least 2 weeks to get used to the change, but so far the difference is not that noticeable. Thank you Dr. Mayfield!

Untrustworthy / Amateur / InconvenientIt took me almost two months to be able to pick up my prescription glasses as they close at 5:00 and sometimes dont open on Saturdays. The other option for pickup was to have them left on their front porch when they leave (seems secure [sarcasm]). When I finally did find the time to make it by, I was told that there were extra co-pay fees from my insurance company, which was never mentioned in the calls I made trying to schedule the pickup. After looking into it, I found they this place left their fee off by accident and wouldnt own up to it. Not someone I want to be, or would recommend, doing business with.

They are not good with following up with their patients. I called this past Monday morning to confirm my daughters eyewear eligibility and theyve failed to call back. Thats not a good strategy for customer service.

I had the best eye exam . I was very comfortable with everyone from the receptionist, Eye Dr. To the optician. I will always go here as long as they are open. I felt at home from beginning to end .

I’ve been to Dr. Koetz for years and he is wonderful but his front office staff need a major attitude adjustment and better communication. I made an appointment yesterday and I was told they had me down for March 12th at 11:15 and also a pair of trial contacts to get me by since that was the first available for Dr.Koetz. Called today to pickup those trials and the rude lady upfront says “ I don’t know who told you can have a trial pair when you’re prescription is expired and you don’t have an appointment for the 12th.” I wish I knew what happened as to why my appointment magically disappeared. So I tried to make an appointment again during the call and they told me they have availability on March 26th with Dr. Koetz and so I asked if they could give me a trial pair to hold me over until my next appointment of course she wasn’t sure if she was allowed to do that and rudeness and annoyance can be heard in her voice. The girl yesterday told me that she will have those trials ready and waiting for me to pick up today. (The girl yesterday even made sure that a trial pair in my prescription was available, she was great too). This isn’t the first time his front staff has given me an issue. There has been many instances to where I kept my mouth shut. I have been understanding but something has got to change with his front staff.

Tina was great at helping me decide what was best with my insurance and patient while I tried on different styles. Highly recommend and they were easy to find.

I will not return. I have vision insurance and they are also VSP recommended providers, however I am going to contact VSP about that as well. The exam and the optometrist was great and I was more than pleased with that. It is the office staff and the billing and charges I was charged. I expected a $10 exam charge through my insurance. Truthfully, they did honor the insurance charge. It is the Specialty Fit charge of $99.00 that surprised me. My prescription did not change and I simply wanted to change brands of contacts so I can buy online cheaper. The up-selling of offering 40% off of the total bill of glasses if I bought a full years contacts was tempting but the extra fees on my exam soured my experience enough to never return.So I ordered my 6 month supply of contacts and left being told my contacts would be in early the following week. My exam was 7.18 and I called on 7.25. I waited on hold for 15 minutes while they looked for my contacts and decided to call back only to be sent to voice mail as I assume they did not want to deal with my call as it was 10 minutes till they close for lunch. So I will call back at 1 and ask for my contacts again. I will not recommend them and I will let VSP know that they should reconsider giving them a preferred provider selection.
