I did a lot of research prior to me purchasing my first hand gun.Many places provided feedback and relevance to my first purchase.However, these folks were very patient with me provided me options for new and used options and listened to my concerns. They allowed me to fire the gun prior to purchasing the gun and went out of their way to educate me on the proper handling and firing of the weapon. I was so impressed I purchased my gun from them on site upon my first visit to the store.My sales person Brian was great and very knowledgeable and patient.Lastly, Mario went on the range with me and as stated above took the time to walk through the proper way to handle the gun, to shoot the gun and most importantly emphasizing safety first.These guys were great I highly recommend stopping by...Thanks ATP for a great experience.

I called to see if they had #11 percussion caps for a muzzle loader. Spoke with Tristan who stated that they did have them in stock, 100 for $10.00. I explained that I had been there a week ago and they were out. He assured me they had themI drove 40 miles and guess what? No caps. Not a single #11 cap in the whole storeWith the “Let’s go Brandon” gas prices like they are you would think someone would at least walk out on the floor and check and not assume.I have a lot of things I would like to say about Mr Tristan at this moment but I have to drive another forty miles back home.80 miles @ $3.29 a gallon because this incompetent individual is too lazy to do his job“Let’s go Tristan!”

Very friendly and helpful staff, who enforce a mask-wearong policy. Any store that holds science above triggered right wingers fee-fees is a store I want to do business with. Who knew some Capitalists were so against the rights of private businesses to enforce their own rules on their own property. Couldnt be happier with this place, and will be doing repeat business with them.

I wrote them THREE emails at the sales address and THREE emails at the admin one. Six different emails sent to two different email addresses over the course of eight days and not ONE was returned. Oh well, guess there goes my business out the door! I mean if you’re so busy you can’t get around to emails then you don’t need another customer anyway!

Was shocked at the door with the no open carry sign. Come on guys this is supposed to be a gun shop, I don’t open carry but it just seemed that they are a not gun friendly place. Over many years I have noted that the liberal, anti-gun, media will often find a stooge in the form of a gun shop owner or manager who they can do an interview with and who will help to naysay or at best put forth lukewarm support of a pending or recently passed pro-gun bill and making some really dumb remarks along the way. After watching such a piece on ABC 15 regarding the coming Open Carry With Training law, I think they found their man in the owner of this establishment. The interview I watched wasnt as bad as some but was certainly not what I would call solidly pro 2-A. For that reason, I personally would avoid this establishment.

Very knowledgeable and backup all their work. Very good prices and tons of merchandise. The staff is incredible I would highly suggest to go there. Also they have a ladies night on Thursdays. You can tell the awesome work they do by the 300 Blackout on the case oh yeah.

Was browsing shotguns for 10 mins while being watched. Finally I decided to ask a question about a gun behind the counter, big gentleman with a cane reluctantly got up to look at the tag, answering I dont know to all my questions then putting the gun back on the wall and turning around to on the computer completely ignoring my follow up questions. Prices are roughly 20% higher than most other shops or online, combine that with their customer service and its not a very welcoming store.

Theyll never see another dollar from me . theyre rude and inconsiderate . for some reason they think that theyre above you. Walked in the store the first thing they tried to do was throw a mask at me. Ive had the vaccine but thats none of their business. I nicely said oh this again ? they proceeded to tell me to shut up already and just put it on . Needless to say of course I walked out. Oh and did I mention I was the only one in the store. And every single one of them was behind the counter not 6 ft apart and not all of them had a mask on . At one point in time they had a backbone and was a decent store. now its just a last resort place to go because you dont want to drive 10 more minutes down the road. And they didnt have what I needed anyway! Go woke go broke!

The manager here was very nice very professional and give me a lot of information to make sure I knew what I was doing in a safe confident manner.

Went in over the weekend to shoot at the range. although my experience at the range was a poor one. I was more star struck by the idiots behind the counter. while browsing the guns I found a couple I liked. I had brought 3 different guns with me to shoot. and I asked someone at the counter if they bought guns, I was possibly interested in trading/selling mine towards some I found. dude looks at my guns, goes back to the computer to look up prices comes back and tells me the dumbest prices I have ever heard in my life. $200 for a gen 5 glock 19 mos kitted out, $200 for a cz scorpion kitted out, and 300 for a FN 509 kitted out. so $700 for 4k worth of guns, the sights i had on them were worth more then the prices they offered. I knew they were ripoffs with ammo and guns, didnt know they were ripoffs when It came to buying customer guns as well though.

Walking around in the shop just browsing checking prices as I normally will do (wearing my mask) litterally the split second my mask slipped down a bit exposing part of my top lip the KID behind the counter immediately told me to fix my mask. 15minutes of browsing nobody asking a thing regarding being of any help but couldnt wait to bark out an order immedately about my mask slipping. Could you imagine if I came in here 2years ago with a mask on? Theyd be begging me to take it off. I dpubt I will go back here.

Still require face masks inside regardless of vaccination. I left without getting my mask.Running errands I went to the Ladson DMV where they don’t require a mask while people are lined up 20 deep. How does the DMV have more sense then these guys?!?!

I would try somewhere else, poor and disorganized customer service. The front counters are lackluster at best in terms of receiving quality and knowledgeable service. The guys working on firearms in the back seem much more professional.

Give your money to other stores around. These guys prices are too high and dont have anything anyone else doesnt have. Masks should be an option not a requirement to shop.

The store has good inventory. A lot of good firearms and they stay stocked. The customer service is bad. Most the people have a stink look on there face like your making their life harder, even though they are the employee/professional (I think). I can deal with that, I’m from the north.What got me is when I dropped off a firearm to get worked on and 1 week went by, no word, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks, then finally on the 5th week after I called 3 times they said they couldn’t work on it!!? They never reached out to me once. I called everytime to check on it. I mean tell me that from the beginning and stop wasting my time. Took it to another gunsmith, got right on it. No bs. That’s my experience. Will never go to there gunsmith again.

Called in, guy can’t be bothered to even look up the price of the ammo I’m asking for. “Pricey” isn’t an answer, and you don’t need to be rude to a customer. Ammo is in short supply today but you don’t need to be rude abt it... not going to last forever

I called around for Gun Smiths around North Charleston, and the only Gun Shop to answer was ATP. Went in to have some script screws removed from my upper reciver of my bolt action rifle, and they got it done in no time! All the employees made sure I was being helped, and everyone had tremendous customer service. Definitely have my service from this day on, and man the variety of inventory they have in stock! Thank you ATP Gun Shop!

The most overpriced gun store in the area do not go here!!!! The staff is a joke they think they know everything about guns and any thing the customer says is wrong. At one time (years ago) they were the basically the only option in the area. Those days have come and gone. High prices that are not competitive at all, with literally everything. Abysmal customer service, coupled with profound disorganization. With Allied Arms, and Palmetto State Armory... There is literally no reason at all to do business with this store.

Waited for them to open. Watched all the cops come out the back door maskless, then they force you to wear a mask to enter. Went to palmetto state armory and got what I needed . Don’t ever plan on going back

Tried coming down here the past 2 days everytime I got theyre they have a line outside. Im assuming because of covid. So I left drove down to allied arms thats 8 mins down the street and spent my money there because at least they arnt limiting how many people come in. All these restrictions are just making you guys loose money not making any.

Recommend! Friendly staff. Communication is difficult though. But they are very patient and enthusiastic to answer. There are many types of guns. The price is reasonable. They will not increase prices randomly. I will come again

Ive used this range off and on over the years. I took my CWP test here as well. The range can be full at times, so if standing around isnt your idea of fun, you may want to call ahead to see how busy it is. I have never rented guns for the range, but they offer it if you have your eye on buying one. This is a convenient way to see how they handle and if youre ready to make that commitment. Safety is a high priority here, however it is good practice to always be on the lookout for nubes who are too excited to remember to always point the gun down range.

He rings me up and says that will be $107.I let him know that the blazer brass is my ammo and i am looking to trade it for the hornady ammunition. Another gentleman appraises my ammo and offers me $6 a box. I just wanna know if Im crazy or did I see what I just saw.True story . I called Palmetto State Armory (all branches) and no one answered my call. We went to ATP Gun Shop after calling and they answered on the third ring.MASON was extremely helpful on the phone and at the store later that day. Yes, there was a line outside and all precautions were in force for COVID-19.Who were in line you may ask. Women, four, men six and of all different races. No issues inside, everyone was treated equally and with respect!As one customer said, they are very busy because of scenes in New York City, Portland, Oregon, Washington, D.C. Chicago, Illinois, Seattle, Washington and even Charleston, South Carolina.So, did I purchase? Indeed I did and very happy as can be. My family is now protected and ready for any individuals who wishes to test our resolve at our home.

Hate to leave a negative review, however this is certainly warranted. I recently tried to use ATP as a FFL for a firearm delivery, however it turned out to be a lot of aggravation and a real hassle of which the seller of the firearm (via Gun Broker) could not understand. ATP essentially refused to provide their FFL license number to the seller (even though he was registered with the Gun Broker website used). The seller had emailed ATP sales to request such information as directed but after over a week there was no reply from ATP. I had to call ATP several times to inquire about this and eventually I asked them to contact the seller directly .... of which they did but still ATP would not provide their FFL # to the seller for whatever reason .... really made no sense. I was able to resolve this issue in literally 5 minutes by finding another FFL to use. Ive always had great service at ATP with expert advice on firearms, using the range and as a member and its unfortunate that ATP was so difficult with this transaction. Warning to the wise, DONT use ATP as a FFL if their FFL license number is not on file with the seller as it will be an aggravating and ultimately impossible (in my case) experience.

Great place! My favorite gun shop in the lowcountry. Great prices and friendly staff. I have both bought and sold guns at this place. Great experience with both. The indoor range is nice. It can get warm in the summer but other than that no complaints.

When additional service or help was needed NO ONE took the time to walk over and assist my nephew and I. This was my second time at this place and both experiences were horrible. I won’t be back. We left and went to C&S on Rivers Ave and the customer service was remarkable.

Best day of shooting ever!Emily made our day, she was knowledgeable and very professional. The store has a lot on offer and the range was great. We tried a lot of guns out. The last range I used in the USA was in Las Vegas. ATP was a much more real experience and we tailored the experience to what we wanted rather than having to take a fixed package. I would definitely recommend.

I went to Ladies night at ATP this week. I was a bit nervous since it was my first time shooting, but the staff quickly put me at ease. They have a great sense of humor and made me feel at home. The employees are considerate and knowledgeable. As a female I appreciate that I wasnt talked down to. I was able to ask as many questions as I needed and received a very detailed answer. I didnt have to go hunt for assistance. That was a great feeling.Plus you can rent any gun to shoot. It helps with figuring out what you want to buy.

Had the best experience a few days that I have had there. I completed a trade and Ed and Emily helped me and were both awesome to deal with! Emily brings a smile and freshness to the store that was really needed! Ed has always been great when I have worked with him. Thanks also to the owner Arlen for making the trade a reality. I dont get why the reviews are so negative? Everyone was very nice and helpful. One guy was kind of quiet but he did not have an attitude about it or anything. Just his personality I guess. Plus they were less than an hour from closing and we all know how that is. Wide selection of quality firearms and accessories as well as items for those of us in a budget. I wish they had more bulk ammo options but other than that I can not complain. Will definitely come back. Cant wait to get on the range and test out some long guns I am considering adding to my collection.

I agree with Chad. This is a gun shop. I went to Ladies night and had a great time. Everyone was really helpful. I do admit you do have to be vigilant to get service. These people have to be serious, they are dealing with dangerous weapons and have to be alert at all times. When I walk in they know I am there. When I want service I let them know in an unmistakable, non lousy tone HEY I NEED HELP, or EXCUSE ME CAN YOU HELP ME. Yes I will single somebody out and ask for help. If you want good customer service, it starts with you. Demand it BUT DONT BE A JERK ABOUT IT. I had a great experience with everyone. So they have a dry demeanor, adjust.

Very nice place EVEN WITH THE VIRUS CRAZINESS GOING ON.... i came in for a S&W J frame and they had the model i wanted in stock NEW for cheaper than it was at BudsGS online.... that AND i had a quite pretty young lady helping me the whole time...(im telling you if i was the kind of guy that picked up a woman at work... well never mind) so anyway i got delayed on my paperwork and had to wait an extra day(common last name) but they called me just as soon as my NICS approval rolled in and my pick up was just as good as when i first came in a day earlier.. over all one HELL of a GOOD EXPERIENCE... staff is KNOWLEDGEABLE, laid back, easy to deal with and helpful... GO TO ATP FOR ALL YOUR FIREARM NEEDS THEY WILL GET U SQUARED AWAY RIGHT

You likely wont find the deal or steal of the year here at ATP, But the place is decent. I especially like it when they run promotions in order to Get an additional discount like a blood or Food donation and what not in order to receive extra savings on the purchase of a firearm.

Like any other business, you have to shop AND each sales representative gives different service. I have purchased several guns from them and dealt with several of their staff, both positive and negative. Over all a good place to go to look at guns. The range set up is great. I had a gun blow up on me and they fixed it right then for a reasonable price. Put 200 rounds through it, no problems. By the way the gun was a Glock 22, 40 cal. I was using trash reloads (never again). They also price match locally, so high prices might not be an issue. They came off $50 on a $400 gun no problem. Another store had it on sale.

There are better shop with better prices and better ranges than this in the area. Limited selection with a crowded floor space. The last time I went, the range was not well maintained.

I used there range and really enjoyed it. It was a great range to shoot on. I just want to let everyone know that this is a gun shop and not a walmart. So personally I like that there is not a circus going on in there. I like the fact that everyone in there are a very serious person, and they should be. I know I would be. I do admit that they are expensive, but they do carry quality products needed to own and operate a weapon. Thats why there is other ways to get what you need. However ATP does employ people that can answer what questions that you might have about your weapon. So I would expect to pay extra for professional services. The folks that work in there will get to know you the more you shop there, and dont act like an idiot. I know that me, myself and I have had great customer service so far in there store. Also they have provided me with great products. I dont mind paying for quality, remember that you get what you pay for. Be safe everyone and please protect our second amendment right, most of all. Most of the staff is friendly and informative. We got some very good info on our first handgun purchase and were able to make good decisions on which one to buy. Some of the guys who work the gun rental counter are kind of moody, though, and make you feel like youre bothering them. Overall its still a decent place.

The folks at ATP are excellent examples of friendly/knowledgeable local retailers. They consistently employ multiple sales people who are on the floor ready to help ALL who ask for it. They do not let you jump in line. For those who say they are rude, do the math! 25 customers, 6 salespeople.....why cant the 19 waiting customers just ask a question? Answer=there wont be enough time to buy that prized concealed firearm if the salespeople dont prioritize customers. Remember, buying a firearm requires effort and paperwork, much like a car. When have you ever heard a car salesman say, I am in the middle of a sale, but I have plenty of time to help you...?

Nice indoor range price is for day not for hour like other indoor ranges and you can leave and come back in the same day. Yes they price match others in the low country as well. I have attended ladies night here, which was nice. I just wish the target wasnt so close the entire time. I have also been back to use the range.y husband and I have bought a couple of guns from here too, as well as accessories. The staff is super friendly and take their time with you. They like to joke around, which I like too. Knowledgeable and helpful. I really like the salesman Eric. He is always awesome to deal with.

Went here the other day to get some work done on my rifle. One of the reps seemed to take pleasure in being an absolute tool. I specifically told him I was looking to get a two or three point sling. He informed me (information I already knew) that I have a QD sling mount on my stock, to which I responded, Cool, but I want a 2 or 3 point sling. I bought one of those swivel mounts after I asked him if they charge to have the gunsmith install it. He said no, I thought itd be a breeze. He gets the paperwork ready and I ask him if the gunsmith is backed up or if this will be a quick enough job that he can take care of it right then and there (its a two minute job if you have the right tools). He then says, Standard answer, I have to tell you that it will take 4-6 weeks. I put the pen down and said, okay, I understand thats your policy, but you gotta let me know if the gunsmith can look at it sooner... He interrupts me, repeating himself like an incompetent, buffoon. I explained to him that I am changing duty stations in a week and cannot leave my rifle in South Carolina. He gave me this weird look and asked why I would leave my rifle here. I guess hes not very good at math either. I gave a few of my free range passes to a customer about to purchase range time and went on my merry way; hitem where it hurts. One would think a gun range and store would conduct themselves in a professional manner instead of acting like a two-year old repeating what theyve heard.

In my opinion they are great. The biggest selection, plenty of help. Everyone Ive talked to has been quite knowledgeable and helpful. The indoor range is great for pistols or rifles. I have bought a used pistol and sold 2 guns I wasnt using. They guaranteed the used pistol for a year. Try to find that anywhere else. I think you will like it.

Felt really welcomed there. Plenty of discounts for military and other uniformed folk. Huge selection. Walked in and said wow. They are also not afraid to talk about the discounts either. Would definitely recommend this over any of the other gun stores.

Rude service, even had the Hawaiian looking young dude get an attitude when we walked away from the counter. Also their floor guns are in awful shape, looks like theyve been beaten to death but apparently theyre new. Go to PSA and save money, the mark ups are insane on items in this store.

To be up front, I personally know the owner. It is a large store with a lot of traffic due to the ranges, and some people are bound to have negative experiences. Because I know the owner, I know that peoples negative experiences dealing with salesman and service is not indicative of the way the owner personally treats customers or the owners general philosophy of customer service. Take it for what its worth, but I would not be taking the time to write a review if the owner was a jerk regardless of whether or not I knew him. Prices are another matter, and what one man asks for an item is his business and his gamble. Everyone tries to charge as much as the market and his input costs will allow, and I applaud people complaining about and communicating prices to one another. I do it, everyone does it, and thank god that we live in a rich country and have a relatively free market (in some sectors anyway) and can vote with our feet and our wallets, the source of true liberty. Having said all that, I know that ATP charges more, but the reason I started going there and the reason I got to know the owner was because when we had a problem with a gun, he made it right. And thats it. Many of the salesman are very good and very knowledgeable - a man named Eric is one of these. Some may not be, and I understand the frustration of getting crappy service.

All I can say is the staff here was BEYOND rude. This is coming from someone who never leaves bad reviews. Take your money to PSA instead.

My husband and I went to check out their shooting range. Was very surprised that they dont do a safety video before letting you on the range, nor did they have a range supervisor. This made me a little uncomfortable, as Im fairly new at shooting. The guys in the lane next to us obviously had no experience shooting, as they were pointing their guns everywhere. We left immediately as this is a serious safety issue in my book. Were going back to C&S Shooting in Charleston, its new and they put safety first.

The employees are disgruntled, disrespectful, and lack basic people skills.

Walked in and was dumbfounded by the collection of guns. Looked around for a fee seconds, then not even 15 seconds after walking up yo the counter, I was asked if I was being helped. We cracked a few jokes back and forth and knew what guns I was talking about and explained the ones I didnt know but wanted to look at. They truly enjoy their jobs and its definitely more of a hobby.

Went there to shoot my new pistol Wednesday. Range staff was fantastic. Catered to the customer! All the negative posters are full of beans! Not as many lanes as PSA, but enough to put me on one as soon as I got there. The price is right! At $5 per person to shoot as long as you want to. All day if you have the ammo, is as good a deal as youll find anywhere! Ill be going back.

Horrible attitude workers

Great place can shoot steel case bullets unlike plametto arms, where to they told me, that while they sell the 7.62 x 39 I cannot use their range to get on paper. Was not using steel jacket bullets either. Service is great to, Had trigger work done on my 30/06 very satisfied.

They have apparently changed the range policy. Now you cant bring on on unless you buy it from them at four times the regular price. Their claim is that Full Metal Jacket ammo is damaging theyre back stop. When I asked when the policy went into effect I was told it been in effect over a year and I shot their six weeks ago with the same ammo. Just another way for this extremely overpriced gun shop to overcharge you for something else. This will be the last time I go to ATP for anything.

These guys are pure professionals, one of the few places I have been to were they are courteous pleasant and knowledgeable all at once, with good prices as well.

After shooting at the range all I want is to relax and sit on a nice warm seat. And in the ladies room, the toilet seat is so toasty you could warm your leftovers on it! Seriously, try it - you will never want to rest your butt on anything else!

The store itself is impressive, gun inventory is over bearing. I do not like seeing new guns stacked one on top of another. Most of the staff is great, then there are those who KNOW IT ALL rude and everything is a argument or challenge. The price are very high, all hand guns new or used are 100.00 plus over retail! If you ant to see a gun, place to go. Then go buy it at another dealer and save your self hundreds. Price match sign is not impressive, why buy from you when others are more honest and have upfront fair pricing?

Have to agree with many here who say this place would be out of business without a range attached.The desk clerks are either asleep at the switch, rude or plain incompetent. I used to go there regularly to shoot as I have a bucket of free passes. But I stopped shopping for pretty much anything there as value and service leave much to be desired. I suppose if you have the biggest indoor range around and Obama is scaring everyone into buying a firearm you can get away with poor service and inflated prices.Plenty of outdoor places to shoot when the weather is nice and now that Palmetto State Armory opened a store in Mt. Pleasant I know where to shop for good quality/prices for guns, ammo and accessories.

I found any staff was very polite and respectful. Could answer any my questions. I guess if anyone had an unpleasant with any personnel. I noticed reviewing reading. Obviously has too work on their own personal social skills. I didnt see any issues. Visitors picking a fight to a employee. Should leave and come back when in a better mood. The place is very busy. I didnt see anything overpriced. At most standard around the state in sales. Some may vary. All depends on brands. I actually seen some a few less than gun shops in my area. Nicest gun store I visited too date. Enjoy my visit after a two hour travel. Everytime so far

BEWARE!!!!! Their incompetence is amazing. Due to a lack of class 3 dealers I was forced to use these people even after all the horror stories I have heard. They were justified. After asking twice over the phone for the price to do a class 3 transfer. I placed my order. When I showed up to pick up my paperwork. They wanted to charge me double. I got so tired of arguing with this moron behind the counter and walked out. They called me later in the day to say that I was right and could come back to pick up my paper work. Another 25 miles each way. Being its too late to back out. So after I havent heard from them in 8 months as to the arrival of my stamp and paperwork. I decided to call to find out how long it has been taking. Turns out that my paperwork had arrived. When I got there my stamp was dated march 2 and its now august. These Jackasss had been sitting on my paperwork for 4 months and never bothered to call me. This was the manager I was dealing with now. He offered no explanation, apology or offer to refund any of my money. When I told him I was never going to step foot in his store he only said I understand. I would advise that no one do business with these people. On top of them being to most overpriced gun dealer in the area.

I tried multiple different gin shops in the area and they were the only ones to carry left handed holsters. They were also helpful with finding extra magazines for my gun. Prices were pretty close to the standard retail prices.

Absolutely the BEST gun shop and range in the greater Charleston area. The knowledgeable and friendly staff make shopping there a fantastic experience. The wide selection of firearms and assesories is unbelievable. Ive visited gun shops throughout the United States and ATP is at the top of my must experience gun shop. Very welcoming. Quick and easy to get setup and have a practice session. Plenty of knowledgeable staff. Overall straightforward and professional environment.
