All the reviews must be fake because these guys are terrible. Daryl seems like he has an attitude and wasn’t friendly. I’ve never seen a place so filthy but figured I’d give them a shot. The bodywork was poor and the paint job is worse than maaco. From what I can tell they don’t remove any trim off cars when painting and do it right in the shop building, which is absolutely not how to do things. It’s 2021 and they only take cash or checks must be avoiding paying taxes. If you made it this far avoid them at all costs.

I took my 98 Chevy p/u in with small dent in the tailgate. They fixed the dent and color matched the 22 year old dark blue paint. They were able to blend the paint color and save the original custom pin stripping. I highly recommend them for body and paint.

Honest, good owners that listen and treated us with respect. They got us in quickly, their work was excellent, and their price was very fair. Its our go-to in the future. We highly recommend State of the Art Auto Body.

Really fast service. I got an estimate on Monday, they had the part on Tuesday and could have had it done that same day if I could have left work to get it there. They fixed it in a morning. As a comparison it took 5 days to get an appointment for an estimate at a chain body shop. Fair pricing. Great communication. Highly recommend.

On the recommendation of a friend of mine I checked this place out. He said they could fix my car for nearly half the price of one of the big name body shops. Well my friend was right. Ill definitely be recommending this shop to anybody who needs quality work done quickly for a good price. Both the owner Jack and the gentleman I primarily spoke to Chuck are very knowledgeable and dont want you to have to overspend for unnecessary costs.If I ever need more body work done Im going back to State of the Art Auto

Jack, the owner is a straight to point, no-nonsense guy. I appreciate that. Ive always been weary of auto shops because its hard to trust that theyll be honest and not money hungry, but this place is great and after using their services multiple times over the years, my worry has been alleviated when dealing with them. Just had my side mirror painted and replaced and I am pleased with the job and the price I paid. Literally 3xs less than Maaco would have charged me. Two thumbs up.

Had no idea these guys turn out the best work in Dane County!A friend referred me,I said, its a little out of town and doesnt look as nice as some of the other body shops.He said, If youre not happy with the results, I will pay the bill!They under promise and over deliver... and your not paying for that over head like those fancy body shop places. So, if thats not enough, they treat you like an individual. The personal attention and communication was amazing. Some of you may find the communication to be little old school via phone calls and face to face only. Honestly, I think thats their secret to delivering such great service.

Ive been asking for years for a referral for a good, affordable, honest, local body shop. Ive tried Gates, Advance, Maaco, Abra, all the big names and even a few smaller local ones. Abra was always the cheapest, and while I had no issues with them, I always wanted to find a small town local option.My aunt told me about State of the Art and I brought my car there today.Its off the beaten path, technically in Sun Prairie, but I didnt see anything nearby except farms and a few homes. Theres a no frills parking lot and a circa 1980 office where you walk in. The shop itself is more modern looking, and clean, but still very no frills.Chuck was very friendly and knowledgeable, as was Jack. They were very concerned about giving me the best value as a customer. Since my car was over 10 years old, they didnt want me to pay for anything unnecessary, unlike the chain shops that are more concerned about bringing everything back to factory condition.Jack is the owner, and Chuck says hes been working for him for over 30 years. They said most of their business comes from repeat customers and referrals. Its easy to see why.Ill definitely be going to them first in the future.

Took my wifes suv in for some body work and could not be happier with the results. Chuck did an AMAZING job on it. I will definitely be going back for any future repairs.
