I had to have my garage door opener replaced. It was a great customer service experience. The tech had three options ranging from less expensive to more costly. He explained the advantages and disadvantages of each so I was able to make an informed decision.Work was done quickly and efficiently. I am a happy customer.

Fixed the door in a timely manner what is why I gave 3 stars. But were 20% over on their quoted time, one worker knew what he was doing the other was an apprentice who did not. However billing rate was not compensated for and $240 an hour is not cheap. Staff could of got the job done much faster if a they knew what they were doing and b did not fraternize with our staff.

Our garage door opener started buzzing but would not open the door. Dan, the technician, arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the issue as a capacitor failure and fixed it. He had some spare time, so instead of leaving, instead he stayed back and serviced the garage door, getting rid of extra squeaks and making it smooth. The installation price was so low compared to other quotes that I expected all kinds of things that weren’t included unless you paid more. Not true. Not one dime more and the installation was quick (about an hour) and absolutely perfect. He even took the time to explain each feature and made sure to answer all my questions. This is one of those times that if it sounds to good to be true, go with it because it really is true.

This company was contracted through Home Depot to install a garage door opener I bought there. Dan came by, installed everything, walked me through the changes, and even lubricated some of the noisy spots in the garage door. Very pleased, couldnt have asked for more.

We used The Overhead Door Company of Santa Clara for one of the rentals we manage. The neighbor hit the garage door with the car. Larry Schaffer and Bryan Matusich were very helpful with getting someone out to the property to secure the door the same day of incident. Our garage door was broken and I didnt know what was wrong. Over a phone call, they helped me identify a spring was broken. They came on time, was covid cautious, did a good job, explained all, and the job site was clean. I think the price is on par as well. Would call them again for any garage door issue.

I needed a quote for my garage door the woman I spoke to told me that theydo not do quotes they will charge me $245 just to come out unbelievable not to fix the issue just to come out and till me the problem.

My garage door had been not working properly for 5 days and the day Dan was to come check it out it started working again. Dan tried everything to make the door act up but to no avail, while he was checking the electrical wiring he did find a loose wire and fixed that. Dan did a very thorough inspection and everything is working great again. I would not hesitate to call the Overhead Garage Door company again they are the Best.

Outstanding. I called in the late morning because of a malfunction in my vintage Genie. Andres, the technician, arrived on time the same afternoon. He diagnosed the problem, giving me the choice to repair or replace. I chose to replace. Andres called in the order and the new opener was delivered as he removed the old one. The entire process took two hours, including reprogramming my cars automatic opener button. Absolutely phenomenal personalized service. Andres was professional, personable, and skilled. The office person was knowledgeable, helpful, and sympathetic. I could not have had a better experience.

They installed my garage door about 10 years ago. Worked great till recently. They came out for a service call and fixed it in short order at a great price. The service technician was COVID safe, nice and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.

The technician arrived right on time ( unusual these days ), he was extremely professional, explained everything, and very courteous. We needed two new springs . He fixed it in timely manner( less than estimated time ) and door works perfect now. He even oiled the tracks and wheels so it is quieter than it ever has been. We called out Overhead Door Company to replace the gasket that had been chewed on by a rat. The technician determined the gasket was no longer available so he had to replace the entire aluminum strip with gasket. The new strip with gasket let light in on one side which meant a rat could squeeze in. I was charged full price for the work done that day. He came out again the next door and glued a vinyl gasket on the floor to cover that gap. I was charged full price again. I dont really like the fix and feel I was overcharged. Im probably going to end up fixing the problem myself. BTW, the technician was great. He did the best he could do with what he had to work with. I overheard him trying to talk his boss into not charging me for the second service run.

I called when the spring on my garage door broke and was able to get an appointment the following day. The technician showed up on time, had all the necessary parts and tools, and was in and out in 1 hour! Excellent service!

Normally I do not like giving a bad review. But in this case, this was earned. My wife called and spoke with someone about coming out and telling us what we needed to update our roll-up garage door. Since we had used Over Head Door Company in the past (for a broken spring) and since we have seen them in the neighborhood, we called them again. My wife was told that Larry would call her back shortly. After a full week and no return phone call, she asked if I would call them. She felt that she was getting the brush off run around from the person on the phone.I called them and explained that I wanted someone to come out, inspect our door for sagging and noise and a “tune up” and let me know how much that would be. An appointment was made for the following week. During the week wait, we went out of town and had zero cell service, so when Dan called to say he had an earlier appointment; I did not get that message until I got back in town. At least he called!Come the day of the appointment, Dan showed up right on schedule. We talked about my roll up garage door and he said that the sagging is due to my door being wood. Well, I know that wood sags over time and he did listen to what I said. However, it wasn’t until well into the conversation that he told me that since he was there, he was going to have to charge me a service call of $110. I couldn’t believe that! On their web site, under Services, 5th bullet point says “Free residential door estimates”. I looked at the back of his truck and it says “Free Estimates”. All I wanted was an estimate to repair or rehab my roll up door. Dan tells me, “The free estimates are if Larry in sales comes out and gives you an estimate for an entirely new door”! Talk about bait and switch. I asked him how much to tune up the door and rehab it as best you can. He told me, $110. He did not tell me that I also had to pay a $5.00 fuel surcharge! Not only bait and switch, but “nickel-dime” you as well.Since he was there and since I was going to have to pay for this anyway, I felt I was forced to have him do the work. The door still sags, not as bad as it was. It still makes some noise, but not as bad as it was. I asked him about a garage door opener replacement that also has a battery back-up (in case of power failure). He told me the price is roughly $800+ for an opener like the Lift Master. I almost had heart failure. I did a quick check and found they sell online anywhere from about $250 to $450. That means they have quite a mark-up and of course a large increase for labor.On my computer I have a file of companies to recommend or avoid. Overhead Door Company goes into the folder of companies to avoid. This company is not up front with their customers!

I had a 350 lb. sectional fibre-board garage door dislodge one of its pulley cables, door left hanging badly askew, could only close 2/3rds. Overhead door moved their schedules around my awkward work schedule to come out and fix it the next day. I wish I would have originally called The Overhead Door company for repairs to my primary residence garage door! My garage door recently broke at my rental home and Brian and his team did a phenomenal job! They showed up within the two hour window, fixed the garage door and a very competitive price. I will use them again and recommend them to my family and friends.

Overhead Door is a great company to work with! My springs broke and they were able to come out the next day, quickly figure out the problem and provide a reasonable quote for repair. My repair person was friendly and professional and had the parts with him to fix the springs right then. He also checked the motor and greased it even though that wasn’t the problem. The installation went well, timely and efficient. My beef is with customer service. They were unhelpful in resolving a billing with Home Depot even though the referral was from Home Depot. A confirmation or call was all that was needed. Plenty of garage repair companies. So shop around

Dan was great in efficiency of set up. Very courteous and easy to talk to.Only issue is - I bought an opener with a WiFi module. He didn’t install the module, and that took me another hour to figure out where to install, get it wired up and finish up the hardware. Would have been good to have a complete solution.

Top of the line doors. Expensive but gorgeous light inside with privacy even at night. Feel very well made.but everything is proptietary. A little more than half day install for two doors, without anytime rushing. ( I stripped out old doors.) Had to have tech come back to remove a grumble from an unlubed roller, however,and make a second request for extra remote. For the price they should be included. Kind of a nickel and some feeling. On the other hand the pre-sales inspection was thorough and they really were helpful in working through a tight fit .

While the worker did an excellent job in installing the mechanical part of home depot purchased garage door opener, I am a little disappointed that he told me I am on my own to install Aladdin connect which is part of the Genie garage opener. At least, I should be told that your company would not install the Aladdin connect part so that I could discuss with Home depot beforehand.

Ive needed help with 2 garage doors in the past 20 years. The first time Santa Clara Overhead Door helped me with parts to replace two springs. I bought a chamberlain garage door motor from home depot and these guys were supposed to install it. Came a week after the item was received at home after multiple follow ups. (first red flag). The technician Andre comes home today. I have 2 garage doors, I opened the working garage door so that he can enter and do the work. He did the installation perfectly. But once he connected the full function wall control, I could no longer open or close the working garage door as it looks like he used the working cables for this installation. I asked him if he can fix what he broke, he kept insisting that these are 2 separate problems and he knows how to fix it, but it will cost me another 115$ . I appealed to him that we are all professionals and he has a responsibility to complete the job in a honorable manner, but he wouldnt budge. I said let me talk to his company and he said they are going to say the same thing. I was not convinced, I called them and to my dismay, he was right. The first kid(Ryan) who picked up the call parroted the same theory. We didnt touch your 2nd door, so if you want to fix it, you will have to pay us for it. I argued with him that should I just suck it up that it was my bad luck that the first door decided to stop working the moment you fixed the second door or whether the most probable explanation was that there is some causality here. He gave up after some time and transferred to another guy. This guy (RICK) is most funny, after introducing that he is the supervisor and me explaining the same thing to him, he started uttering the same statements(Looks like these guys were all inculcated with the same rebuttal statements). Normally, I would expect the supervisor to be more tactful and cared about customer satisfaction. But this guy was plain rude, started saying this is not a non profit organization and didnt want to resolve the issue. He also said that how can he be sure that my first door was not working before they came and that I am trying to rip them off by getting them to do additional work. I countered that I opened the damn door for his technician to enter and so I am not ripping them off, but just trying to make sure that I am not being ripped off by having to shell out another 115 bucks for something they broke. I also told Andre that I am not signing off on the work order till this is resolved. Maybe that spooked him or he was being pragmatic, while I was arguing with Dick, Andre just went ahead and fixed the issue. It took him just a minute to fix it, all he did was just connect connect the cables from the new installed motor to the first one, just as I suspected. I told Rick that Andre was able to fix it, Dick wasnt pleased, started asking if I am happy(sarcastically). I told him yes, and that he can expect a good review from me and hung up the phone, so here it is..

Rough Start but Followed ThroughHonestly we had a rough start with Overhead Door, the wrong parts were ordered and there were delays, but in the end they followed though and did a good job. I cant give enough praise to the two installers who came out to finish the job, they were very professional and went above and beyond to make things right. The door looks great and they were able to make some modifications like custom glass and powder coated railings that made us happy.

Worked with Brian (hopefully the correct spelling) and he was courteous, not pushy, and easy to work with. Very helpful and recommended.

A power outage during a storm while in the shelter in place (Corinavirus) killed the main board in my overhead garage door opener. This made a bad time even worse. I called the overhead garage door company and they were able to schedule a repairman out within a day or two and he showed up on time and quickly repaired my opener, reprogrammed my remotes, and sold me an extra remote as I requested. I highly recommend buying your next garage door from them as well as any service that your current door may need.

Dan did a good job of installing a garage door opener to replace our 30-35-year old one. He gave us usage instructions and programmed the separate remote and the one in the car. However, we did not receive a proper invoice, but a copy of the work order. He wrote the part number on the work order, but it was barely legible and the writing on the copy was very small and faint. I sent a FAX requesting a proper invoice that I could use for my records when selling the house, but received no response. Therefore, I am giving the review 3 stars.

If you choose to go with Overhead Door, please be advised that you may have to wait a long time for nothing to happen.I needed some basic maintenance performed on three of my commercial warehouse roll-up doors. I contacted them at the beginning of 2017 and was told that I would need to wait a month before they would have an appointment available for me. I did not receive a call back. The problem my doors were experiencing wasnt a big deal, so it didnt bother me too much.I called them back in the middle of November and attempted to schedule service again. At that time, I was told that they would need to call me around mid-December. On Friday, 12/1 at 5PM (right at the time many warehouses shut down production for the week) I received a voicemail letting me know that an appointment was available. I called them back as soon as I listened to the voicemail on Monday morning, 12/3.Their customer service representative answered, and she told me that my appointment was no longer available. Despite the fact that I had waited two to three weeks already, and despite the fact that they had called my office at 5PM on a Friday night, they did not want to extend the courtesy of giving me until lunch on Monday before they gave away my appointment window. She then told me that she would have to call me back at a later date in order to schedule my appointment, but refused to say when that date would be.I called back to politely explain my frustration, but she refused to empathize and instead insisted that there was nothing available today. I said that same-day service wasnt essential, and that Id be happy to book something for January or even February, at which point she just waited about 10 seconds in silence before simply saying No. When I asked to speak to a branch manager, or anybody else, she simply said that, Theres no one else.Frustrated, I found a smaller mom/pop shop in the area, called them up and was able to make a next-day appointment in a matter of minutes, and with a very friendly customer service rep. When I called Overhead Door back to cancel my appointment request, a man answered - proving that when the previous rep said Theres no one else, she was lying.These kinds of doors are essential for commercial services such as my business. Telling businesses that they need to way an indefinite period of time before you *might* schedule an appointment for them is not efficient for your customers. The services that you provide have an impact on your customers bottom lines, and to insist that they wait in the dark while talking rudely to them is simply asinine.
