I’m incredibly disappointed in Caliber Collision in Swansea, IL. The reviews I’ve seen say wonderful things so I wasn’t worried about the quality of work we would be receiving on my car. I was shocked at the poor paint job they did on my car that had very minor damage considering everyone else seemed to have a great experience.Caliber Collision is a recommended body shop for our insurance company but will never use them again. They did paint and some minor body work on the front bumper of my car and left tons of specs/dirt and spots where there is no paint at all, then put a clear coat over the areas where there is no paint. They said to talk with them if you had any issues, of course we went to them right away. We were dismissed saying that it must have come from the factory with those missing paint spots, pieces of dirt and who knows what stuck under the paint. We know for a fact that none of those things were there when we left our car in their care. They were so focused on getting my car finished quickly that they obviously didn’t care about getting the job done right. I would have much rather used the rental car for a week if it meant my car was painted properly.We are very upset about how this situation was handled. We were dismissed as if we didn’t know what we were talking about. We may not know all the technical terms and other specific information about body work but know that paint work isn’t supposed to look the way ours does. There are many small imperfections that are there now when they weren’t there before. Our car was returned in worse condition that it was when we left it there. We will be taking the necessary steps to get Caliber Collision off of our insurance recommended body shops.Ive included some pictures, the issues we have are hard to see in photos but are very noticeable in person.

The repaired right side looked ok, but it had not been buffed smoothly and washed when I came to pick up the car. Returned to get the vehicle hours later. Four days later the airbag light came on solid which had never occurred. Caliber nicely checked it and advise that I take the vehicle to the dealership; although, the service advisor did say Caliber would cover the cost if it was determined that their repair caused the problem. Good they will cover it, but bad I have to deal with a residual issue. For this reason, I offer the modest rating.

I received excellent service from CC Swansea. I believe my car is in good hands and cant wait to see how they do on my repairs.

They assisted me with understanding the repair process and made it convenient for me to ask questions and clarify any concerns I had as I have never needed to put my vehicle in a repair facility before. The turn around time for my repairs were quick, the communication was thorough and professional, and the work Caliber Collision took to ensure my vehicle looked brand new before the damages has me amazed. My truck looks brand new and I cannot find any hint or presence of damage! This was my initial visit to Caliber Collision. The front desk lady and the technician were friendly and very helpful. Both took the time to explain what they were doing and in detail the apparent damage to my car. They also explained the next steps. If asked, I would recommend them to everybody.

If you are looking to spend your insurance money here, Im sure its great. If you are paying out of pocket please read. Let me preface by saying Ive owned this car new off the lot 7 years and I am passing it down to my daughter. It has cummaltive damage from over the years to both bumpers. Its no longer my primary driver. I have the damage looked at from a mechanical standpoint every time I get maintenance performed (3 to 4 times per year) and the mechanic Ive used consistently for the past 10 years (prior to this vehicle) has assured me many times the car is in good working condition with no mechanical concerns. My expectation was to spend several thousand out of pocket on strictly cosmetic repairs. My first impressions were great. Wonderful reviews, the receptionist was second to none, I got a very pleasant reminder call the day before, the lobby was clean and well maintained. Everything seemed perfect. Until the guy who did our quote came into the picture. Within 10 seconds of approaching the car he threw out a quote without seeing all of the damage. When I took him to the front, the estimate tripled. When I began asking for details he hastily said oh I guarantee you the cost will only go up once we get in and left me with none of the details Iasked for. When I asked if I could pop the hood so he could get an idea if there was unseen damage, he basically blew me off saying it wasnt necessary because he needed special equipment to get specific measurements and he would have to put my car on a lift and take the bumper off. He wasnt even willing to look with me and show me what he was talking about. He then resorted to the low tactic of nodding towards another autobody place within eyeshot and saying there are other guys that will slap a bumper on and call it a day and continued with jabber that made his company seem like they cared, there could be unseen mechanical damage and thats why they are so expensive. When I said we are done here, he made the assumption it was based on cost. Nope, it was because you ignored my request to break down your estimate, you didnt back it up with details such parts and labor. There wasnt any technicality or thought process he was willing to communicate. And when I tried to give him the clue that Ive dealt with autobody quotes before he minimized a full hail rehaul done to the vehicle prior as minimal compared to what it needs now. Spoiler, that autobody guy had to repaint the entire vehicle, replace most of the chrome trim, replace the trunk and hood and it was still cheaper than the estimate today for two bumpers and about 6 inches on my back quarter panel. It felt like a dirty upselling tactic coupled with talking down about local businesses. And he had the nerve to end with Im not trying to run you off, you just need to know our corporation wont just let us slap a bumper on. We have to make sure everything is right. Thats just the way it is. Im absolutely sure the response he wanted was a doe eyed oh thank you for caring so much, heres my money, I cant trust anyone but you.

Had accident damage repaired at the Swansea location. Couldnt ask for better service and professionalism. Cyndee and Brandon provided superior service helping us get through a difficult time. If anyone I know ever needs work done I will recommend Caliber.

I love this place will never go any where else

I loved the experience I had with Caliber. They replaced my bumper and fixed some issues that happened from my accident. Roy, the service advisor, called me daily to let me know what step of the process my car was in and gave me all updates, including an estimated completion date. It was done a day early! They worked directly with my insurance and enterprise, which made everything a lot easier for me!

The quote I received was inaccurate and included repairs to undamaged parts. When I went to pick up my vehicle I mysteriously had a flat tire, when the week prior their was no air loss. I inflated the tire and it holds air fully, no leaks. But they said it wouldnt inflate....

These guys did an insurance hail repair on my vehicle. Very professional and well organized operation. They coordinated with my insurance provided rental car. Excellent unprompted updates while the vehicle was in the shop. Returned spotless. Very detailed paperwork on the work done.Cant comment on the cost since it was a recommended shop for my insurance. I dont have anything to compare it to.

I have had my car repaired by Abra on two different occasions and both of my experiences were great. They always kept me informed of everything that was being done and was very pleased with their attention to detail. One of the managers their by the name of Carly went above and beyond to always answer my questions and making sure my car was locked up every night in their shop because of the expensive stereo system I have in my car. I would recommend Abra to anyone that needs body work done to their vehicle.

I made an appointment to get my windshield fixed, and I was told the technician would come to my location the morning of the appointment and call ahead of time. The day arrived, and he never called and never showed up. I called three times to check up. Twice I was told they couldnt get in touch with the technician but that hed call me back within fifteen minutes and be with me within half an hour. The third time I was told that I was supposed to come to their shop, something Id never been told all day or during the initial appointment. And they still couldnt tell me why I hadnt been contacted or why the location had changed. I will never work with Abra, and I will never recommend them. Awful customer service.

Totally worthless. No one can tell me when my car will be done. Its like my car is the first car that they have ever had to fix. There was a small dent on the rear quarter panel. and they have had my car for a week now! Just got off the phone and still no one can say when the car will be done. The service was friendly, timely and communicative. Everyday I received a message on the status of the work being done so I was not left guessing if they had started... should I call... if/when will they call me... It was amazing. The work they did was beautiful! Youd never know there was damage. They perfectly matched everyhting down to the smallest pin stripe. GREAT SERVICE ALL AROUND!

Theyve had my vehicle for 2 weeks and never communicated that it be a total loss due to damage to my insurance company. I had to call and check in, my insurance company was under the impression that my car was being fixed and so was I. Insurance company called ABRA twice and they gave them two different dates that my car would be available so my insurance company kept renewing my rental. This was the worse experience, plus I was getting updates via text saying my car was being fixed. Communication is not good at this place ☹️

I just got my car back yesterday from this place and I would like to share my experience. Long story short my wife rear ended an SUV and we needed some body work on our car. We had just moved to the Ofallon area after I graduated college. I didnt know any mechanic or auto-body place in the area and this is what Geico recommended for me. Needless to say I was skeptical since it was being recommended, I figured that it was just a place that would only look out for Geicos interests. Thankfully, I was wrong.For starters as a Geico customer I received express service here. I dropped my car off on Wednesday and had it back on Saturday. Considering they had to replace the entire front-end that is pretty fast in my eyes. On top of that they buffed out some scratches I had in the rear-end for free and fixed a dent in my side door at a considerable discount. When I got my car back it was like-new again (Its a 2012, so its still pretty new to me! But looked like it just came off the lot). They made the whole process smooth and the car looked great. I got it back nice and detailed and cant even tell there was an accident.Thanks ABRA (Formerly collision-plus, I believe)
