Overall we’ve had a lot of good experiences at water street bagel, but it’s been going downhill quickly! The last couple weekends we’ve ordered, the cream cheese is extremely lacking. The uncharge for cream cheese is quite a lot to have basically a dry bagel. I can see the bagel there’s so little cream cheese. It’s a surprise considering they use to put a ton of cream cheese on. The bagels have been stale lately and the sandwiches have been cold when we pick them up immediately after we are told they are ready. Additionally, the online ordering has been quick in the past but lately they’ve been quoting longer times and still not being ready on time.

Pretty darn quick for the amount of orders they get. It was my second time here, and wont be the last! The homemade bagels were delicious and sandwiches were very good. I could tell they were filling a bunch of orders while I was waiting, and was scared it would take forever, but I didnt have to wait very long at all. They are very efficient and the bagels are great!

Bagels are very good and definitely on par with the bagels from NYC and NJ. Water Street really shines when it comes to their bagel sandwiches. Most bagel places put their effort into the bagel and are satisfied making the rest of the sandwich ingredients “good enough”. Water Street takes it up a notch by putting what seems like equal emphasis on the bagel and the rest of the sandwich. Also, the decor works well and feels high quality. They put some thought into it and its elevated from a standard bagel place but definitely not over the top.

Excellent bagels at a great price. The everything bagel with cream cheese is a classic, but they also have lots of fun flavors of bagels and spreads. Their online ordering is quick and easy, and the bagels were ready for pickup within 20 minutes (despite the website estimating 30-40 minutes).

Been here a bunch of times and keep trying to give it a chance. Experience is always the same. Place advertises itself as the “NYC bagel” place. Doesn’t have hashbrowns, takes forever, and very overpriced. Pretty much antithetical to a NYC bagel shop. Every NYC bagel shop I’ve been to has hashbrowns and a breakfast sandwich and small coffee is like $5/6. It took 15 minutes for a toasted bagel and butter and It wasn’t warm. They did remake it right away, without issue, however. That said the bagels are pretty decent and most the staff is friendly. The spicy everything bagel is very good!

I came across Waterstreet Bagels after following local Syracuse businesses on Instagram. I love the pictures they post of all the loaded bagels, and finally was able to stop by for a late breakfast. I ordered online and was very pleased with how easy it was to order and pay. They gave me an estimated wait time (~15 minutes), but my order was ready way before that (I was still in the car on my way to Waterstreet!) The contactless pick-up process was so quick and easy; we parked on the street, walked in, and our order was bagged and placed on a rack, alphabetized by name. I ordered The Western on a spicy everything bagel, and it was absolutely the best bagel sandwich Ive had in a really long time. My housemate ordered the Classic on a spicy everything bagel, and she shared the same sentiments! Waterstreet Bagels has a fantastic social media presence, and I love the spirit they have. I recommend following them (@waterstreetbagelco). I will definitely be coming back again.

Ordered online after reading the post that they might be too busy to answer phones. Although the sandwiches were quickly ready as well as tasty, only 3 were labeled (and not with anything legible) and two types of bagels had been substituted for something else without informing us when we picked it up. Were the bagels for my family of 5 too large of an order for them to handle? Did I get the wrong order? Were they out of the original ingredients? Im not sure. If youre into breakfast roulette, this place might be for you!

Finally went to Water Street Bagel this morning!I walked in this adorable NYC feeling bagel shop and all the scents that hit me nearly made me drool. I was immediately excited to be there and try their food.I ordered a coffee (recess, which I love) and a classic sandwich (2 eggs, bacon, american cheese) on a plain bagel. I know, it sounds boring... but I wanted to try something basic my first time. The plain bagel was perfect. Chewy and fresh and delicious. The eggs were cooked over to perfection and their bacon was incredible. They had a ton of staff, so even though the line was long, it moved very fast. The staff were very friendly and acted like everyone was a regular. My only complaint is that its a small place, so we needed to wait for a table. But honestly, right as our food was coming out, a table opened. I think most of the customers were courteous and ate their food and then left so others could sit.I will definitely go back to try other bagels and sandwiches!

Delicious, crunchy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside, wood fired bagels that you HAVE to try. We are huge fans of their breakfast sandwiches on an everything bagel! They also did an orange and blue bagel for Syracuse basketball and we hope they do more fun-colored bagels in the future. They are being extra safe with Covid procedures and currently offer three methods to order takeout: online, phone, or in-person. Handmade cream cheese!! We had the plain, garlic and herb and raspberry cream cheeses. The family had finished the plain before I got to the breakfast table, so I’ll have to wait to review that (but since it was the first one to go I’d say that was a review on it’s own). The garlic and herb was creamy and spot on delicious. The true star for me was the raspberry! It was like having dessert for breakfast! It would be delicious on anything! We were told the garden vegetable cream cheese has hand chopped vegetables and herbs in it, so it’s on our must try for next time. The bagels were light, crispy and simply delectable! A must try if you’re in the Syracuse area!

Had high hopes for this supposedly #1 bagel place in Syracuse, but left the store disappointed. Their main item, the bagel, is simply not great. In fact, their competition is doing a better job in spite of being a chain. Yes, the cream cheese is not bad at all but honestly, Ive had better bagels at Wegmans. And the bagel is tiny for the almost $4 you have to fork for it. For comparison, the same price will get a lot more outstanding bagel and cream cheese in NYC.

The bagels are the best in Syracuse. They really know what they are doing. Word has definitely spread so the sad thing is the French toast bagel has been sold out on recent trips. If you have a chance to try it with the maple breakfast sandwich option do not miss out. The rosemary salt bagel is also a favorite. Their cream cheeses are packed with flavor. The weekends are obviously very popular times to visit but they do a good job of moving people in and out. The actual seating is pretty limited so plan accordingly. Good thing bagels travel well!

Right out of the gate, Ill come out and let you know that Ive never really been a bagel fanatic. I always felt as if they were just circular shaped pieces of bread with chewier texture. Dropped by this morning for two beautiful, steamy fresh from the wood fire over cinnamon raisin bagels. Two kept me fully charged with nutritious steady energy until lunch, and I savored every tear off the bagel. Thats the way I enjoy them, tearing bite sized chunks off the ring just to enjoy the texture more. I cant wait until the weather warms and we can sit outside, enjoying the ambiance. The quality has driven many to dine at Water Street Bagel Company, so I have heard of waits for service. Maybe youll want to order up on Grub Hub? Ill have to ask if the house cooperates with a service. The key for the house to remember comes straight from the book, the Goal. The Goal of a business has to be to make money. A long line might look good but its a sign that supply cannot meet demand. A request for a type of bagel that cant be filled is a stock out, demand not meeting supply. A shelf full of day old bagels in the styles I would never order even at half price is supply outrunning demand. Its classic muda, a concept from the Toyota Production System. The shelf has grown. Take the extras down to the Oxford House on Clinton and get a tax deduction until the house figures out how to better match supply and demand.
