I am a cosmetologist and I have a constant flow of clientele and I always shop here and I recommend this store too my clients. Otherwise I would have to go to Rochester NY to get what I need.

I go there at least once or twice a month for my daughters hair supplies. Prices are reasonable. They always have what you need. Staff is friendly and helpful

This is the second time that I have visited this location and found that the advertised prices are not the actual purchase prices. This time, after looking around the store for 35 minutes, I decided on my products. When cashing out I was told that the package which was labeled $5.99 would actually be $7.99 (I was purchasing 3 of the same item). The manager acknowledged that it was the stores error but refused the honor the price on the tag. I promptly left all of my items which would have totaled about $50 at the register and left. This feels like a classic bait and switch operation and I refuse to believe that the same circumstance occurred on 2 separate occasions with completely different products. I encourage future customers to carefully monitor the cash registers screen. Also, those experiencing similar situations please document and follow up with reviews!

Bought something for the first time ever here, and it was damaged when i got it out of the box. Shocker, no returns or exchanges once it’s purchased. I legit bought it less than 24hrs ago. I wish You guys told me that at checkout because honestly, I probably Wouldn’t have bought it. Everyone that works here is rude AF also. I felt so out of place and was being stared at the entire time i was shopping. Don’t waste your money at this sleazy “business”

Impeccable service!!! I traveled all the way from Ft. Drum NY to come to this hair store. I was 20 minutes away from closing time for this store and the manager kept his store open 5min past his closing time to allow me and my family to come and purchase some items. The store owner even called me to tell me if I ever needed to make a purchase from him to give him a call and he would help me out !!! Thank you for being so kind and demonstrating exemplary customer service!!

BSW helped me understand what I needed to satisfy my demand and how I wanted to look,and helped me with education concerning hair extensions and wigs. I come in the western lights store and buy hair 4 to 5 times a month .I came in before closing last night and was kinda rushed out Halfway down the street I realize I already had that wig Being that they was closed, today I came to exchange it, then he told me HE COULDNT EXCHANGE WIGS but i was not told this before purchase but only after (Which is located on the bottom of the receip) so how was I to know .or decided rather to buy if I didn’t know until after I already brought it.??..as much money as I spend there to be treat like that and he was the one who cashed me out ..last night smh, I PROMISE YOU,will never get my service again.

I had the most uncomfortable, awful experience/service there. The staff were very rude. Did not helped me at all. I felt invisible. I asked for help and they just ignored me like I was not there. Thats just putting it mildly.

BSW TOOK MY MONEY UNLAWFULLY! MANAGER WILDLY UNPROFESSIONAL ANS PROVIDED HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!I am a long time customer of the BSW located at 4738 Onondaga Blvd, Syracuse, NY 13219. My latest experience with this location, along with the downtown location in Syracuse, NY has been quite upsetting to say the least. On Monday, 02/26/2018, I purchased 7 packs of Goddess Locs from the BSW located on Onondaga Blvd. The price labelled on each pack of hair was $7.99. I was unknowingly charged $8.99 per pack and did not realize until later that night when the money was taken out of my bank account. I returned to store today, 02/27/2018, to explain that I had been overcharged for the items I had purchased, and was looking for some sort of resolution to the issue. Rather than paying the expect $54.00 for my hair, I paid $67.96. Immediately, the manager of that location, Thomas, addressed me. He took the receipt out of my hand, then proceeded to answer a phone call. I perceived this to be rude for two reason: 1. you should not snatch anything from a customer 2: if youre dealing with an issue of a customer, then they should have your complete attention. This way they do not feel as though their situation is unimportant to you. While on the phone, the manager walked from behind the counter and told me to follow him because yesterday the products were marked incorrectly and today they are all marked $8.99 and only 2 or 3 were mark $7.99 accidentally. I explain to Thomas that I was discontent with his response to my issue because all 7 packs that I purchased is marked $7.99, so naturally I, as a customer, would expect $7.99 to be the price of the product. I tried to explain that I was never informed of the price being $8.99. I believe this to be an unfortunate circumstance created by the company, but I should not have to make up for that. I explained how that is false advertisement and against the law to inform a customer that the price of a product is one thing, but then charge then a higher price. Thomas was not helpful and offered no solution to the problem. The option he gave me were to return my items for a refund (which is already the store policy and I knew that I could have done that) or to return the items for my money back but then purchase the items for the $8.99 (which makes absolutely no sense). So, I informed Thomas that he was not being helpful, and how I would just like to pay the amount for the items that his store advertised, and he told me that that was not going to happen. I then asked him if there was someone else that I could speak to or contact, because he was not treating me right as a long time customer with a legitimate issue. I felt as a manager, he was not doing all that he could do to fix the problem. Thomas told me that there was nobody else to contact and allowed me to leave in a rage when I initially was not looking for any conflicts. Then, I contacted the manager in Downtown, Syracuse. He was very short, and would not stay on the phone long enough to hear what it is I needed from him, which was contact information. He simply told me to speak with the manager on Onondaga Blvd for any issue, then immediately hung up. I advise NOBODY TO SHOP AT THIS STORE! They are overpriced in Syracuse as compared to other BSW locations. You can get the same products online from somewhere such as amazon for cheaper. You never have to leave your home, you don’t have to deal with any poor customer service or managers stealing your money, if you don’t like or want your product then you can return it for a full refund, and you can get your products in 2 days.

Thomas is a very rude and disrespectful person. I made a 1000 purchase and refuse to help me with anything. He has no respect for his employees and dont know how to talk to his customers, when I asked to speak to his boss he refused and told me there was nothing I can do about it. I would never do business there again!!!! I would rather go to another place before I give him business again!!!!
