I brought my vehicle in for brake repair. Afterwards, my ABS light was on, and it wasn’t before I took it in. I asked if it was okay and was told it should be fine but if I noticed any issues to bring it in for a follow up. The following week, my ABS failed in rush hour traffic and I ended up having a near-death experience. My child and a teenager were also affected. I brought my now totaled vehicle in to a chain store mechanic and they confirmed that my brakes had been done incorrectly. When I presented this report to Kevin and told him what happened, he shrugged it off and told me he wasn’t going to refund me or apologize for putting my child and I in danger. I was out of a vehicle for eight months after that. Never going here again.

Absolutely amazing team! I was up in Tacoma for college when my car’s engine just stopped turning over. Kevin managed to get it in on the weekend, and though he wasn’t able to fix the issue (not his fault, it was the key acting up and needed dealer’s help). Then he managed to get me connected with a very reasonably priced tow from his place to the dealer! Cannot recommend them enough!

I thought that I had a major problem that will cost maybe $700 to $1,000 to fix, the engine light was on, I left my car and my number with him. 5 minutes later as Im scrounging to get the money together, he called me and told me to come get my car I was right around the block. It was a minor fix, on top of that he didnt even charge me. ( It feels so good to find a mechanic that is not out to get you!)

Wow, by far the best service I have received! Kevin is honest and provided very fast service. He even checked out the car and got it back to me within 1.5 hours because I have to work early the next morning. He didn’t want to charge us because the lug nuts weren’t tighten correctly and he said it was a very easy fix. He is amazing! When we came back for my car, the place was packed. I recommend coming early to service your car. I have been to many dealerships and auto shops but this one is the best. My mom also got her car serviced here and the price was affordable and she received amazing service as well. She said they have been around for a long time and is trusted by the community. It is hard to find a good auto shop that is honest and provides amazing service but this place is it for us. We really appreciate them and highly recommend them. (Also was $30 short of 12oo because one of my cards I needed to run as credit & his lil card reader only accepted debit- Would not release my car until he got every penny.) Found the part on my own for $45 & his reasoning was The parts for this cars very expensive; basically he wanted $500 for labor. This shop right HERE... Let me say Kevin is the MAN.. I brought my car in at 2pm on a Thurs for a very hard alternator change.... he had it done by 9am on Friday... Kevin and his crew are the best in Tacoma! I’ve been going to him for years and his experience and rates are great. Proof of this is that they are always very busy. It’s a tight space where they’re moving cars in and out all the time. The shop is conveniently located next to the 28 bus stop. If you’re waiting in the area, there are a number of restaurants and Manifesto coffee a short walk away. Kevin is a really friendly guy who I always look forward to seeing and bringing him work. He’s worked on my Toyota Corolla and VW Jetta.

I most definitely recommend Kevin auto repair! If you’re looking for good prices and someone you can trust, you have found your guy! I drive a bmw and I was simply looking to change my break pads but everywhere I turned they wanted $1400. I was very happy when Kevin said he would change them for only $240!! He changed my sensors and cleaned my rotors. He also changed a back seatbelt my dog chewed off for only $50. I was extremely happy with his service and honesty. I was also recommended by multiple people and was shocked how highly they spoke of him and about this fairness. When I complimented him, he response was “I treat my clients car as I treat me own” Go Kevin and thank you for saving me over a grand!

I had Kevin put a throttle body on my car and on the way home the check engine light came on. I took it back the next day and he reset the unit. The check engine light came back on again. This time he replaced the throttle body again. Again the check engine light came on. I brought it back again and he said that it might be the wiring harness. I was flustered and came back a couple of days later and he returned $230 of the $460 that I had paid. I do not know anyone else who would do this. He is very honest, respectful, courteous and gracious and I would highly recommend him!

Kevin did an awesome job and sealing up my engine and did this job at a low price. On top of that he got done 2 days early. This job and sealing up my engine would have taken a whole week but he got done on Thursday and now I dont smell any burning oil and she runs with pretty good amount of power. The initial cost was around 1800 when it would normally cost me about 2800 for the same amount of time. Ill go to Kevins if I need some quick repair tune-ups or any major engine issue such as manifold leaks. Great guy great customer service Wells can I say.

I took my vehicle in for a simple repair and they just started throwing parts into it without actually diagnosing the the issues I brought it in for. Over a month later he says he cant figure it out, and tells me to come get the vehicle. The engine blew up on the way home. Its now in the junkyard because I didnt have the resources to tow it again and get it fixed somewhere else. Very very unhappy.

Tough to find mom and pops stores these days but this place is just that. Great service, friendly owner, not big corporations here. Just good old American style labor and values.

Honest mechanic with Better Rates

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! I have taken my vehicle to Mr. Kevin twice in just over a month and both times he failed to properly diagnose the issue. The first time I took my vehicle in he told me that my check engine light was on because I had not tightened my gas cap enough. The second time I took my vehicle in because again the check engine light was on and this time it was also making a concerning noise. Mr. Kevin again told me that it was my gas cap setting off the check engine light. I told him that I would be traveling a long distance for a few weeks for training for a new job and I wanted to be sure my vehicle was reliable and in a good condition. He personally insured me that he had ran a full diagnostic, checked the front line and engine and that my car was in great shape. Exactly 8 days later my vehicle stopped driving. A mechanic came to our home and ran a diagnostic and was given several codes back with a few issues but the biggest issue being that my vehicle was out of transmission fluid. That mechanic stated there is no way these issues arose over an 8 day period of time and confirmed that was why my check engine light was on and why my vehicle was making abnormal noises. This created a huge hardship for me and my family. My vehicle is currently in a dealership repair shop and Im not even sure how much damage was potentially caused as I continued to drive my vehicle not knowing it needed important and immediate maintenance. I was stranded at night after leaving work. I had to have my vehicle towed and now have to use a rental vehicle while I wait for repairs. All of this could have been prevented had Mr. Kevin and his team done their job correctly the first time or rather they had two opportunities!

Several weeks ago my clutch went out in the car. I took it to Kevins Auto Repair located at 1115 Earnest Brazill Street (Hilltop) in Tacoma, Washington. Kevin and his team repaired the car in one day. WOW!! The repair cost was 1/3 the price of/from other dealership and shops in the area. I WAS EXTREMELY EXCITED!!! After completion of the new clutch it went out a week later. I could not believe it. I called Kevin and IMMEDIATELY he had me bring the car back in to replace the new clutch. While they were working on the new clutch I was concerned about having to pay again. After completion of the newest clutch Kevin called me in and upon my arrival I asked him how much it would cost. Kevin said NOTHING at all. I was so impressed with my experience at Kevins Auto Body that I will never use another mechanic shop but Kevins from now on out. Went in all stressed .. car needed motor mounts. Just left another shop that said I needed all of them to the tune of $775 .. pls tax . Not a good shop...do not ever go here...quick fix and always bringing car back for the same thing ...he also got good customers car towed out his shop without calling them...therefore people had to pay towing and storage fees....well will be taking him to court and we are going to call the better business bureau and let them no about all the immigrants working there without a license.

He has a bunch of cars that just sit there for months and after we paid him he made excuses. So we got our money back! never go here he will bop you over the head for money. the worst place ive ever been too.it took him 8 hrs tell us that he could not do the job... Its not hard to pick up a phone an say hey i cant do it today, even after we called him 5-6 different time in between those 8 hrs... He sucks
