Entering Cosmonaut Coffee Co is like being welcomed into the owner’s rad clubhouse! It screams personality from the hella dope sneakers for sale to the collection of vintage tin robots and rockets to the plastered stickers and flyers aka menus on every surface.I stopped in for coffee but wanted to buy one of every branded piece of merch! My Golden Milk latte was super tasty and I loved chatting with the owner and learning about his super intentional approach to coffee.

A must stop for espresso and coffee drinks in Tacoma. The barista is an absolute pro who cares about the quality of the shot and integrity of the coffee. This is about as anti-Starbucks as you can get, and as you should get! Go there.

Neat little coffee shop in Tacoma, great coffee as well. You can buy a wide variety of whole beans too - they carry Rwandan coffee which, if you have never had it, is some of the best coffee on the planet.

This is one of those rare instances where I wish that I could rate this place higher than five stars and make them go viral because it is so well deserved! I didnt catch his name, but the owner was my barista and he was so welcoming, so patient, and so friendly. I was stoked to see they use Cat and Cloud for their spro and my latte was absolutely one of the best I have ever had. Honestly, it was the best I have ever had. I purchased a shirt as well just for the design but its so comfortable. And the stickers are dope! Im all about this place and cant wait to visit again.Thank you again for the great service and the suggestion to check out the park across the street, truly a beautiful walk while we enjoyed our drinks!

I go out of my way to go to Cosmonaut! Such a cool vibe packed in a tiny space. Coffee is well made with premium ingredients. If you dont know what you want they are happy to help and dont roll their eyes and offer you a PSL to get you out of the door. They are always friendly. They are even nice to my kiddo who says they make the best chocolate milk.

This coffee was delicious and the dude behind the counter could really pour a cup. Outdoor seating with Fun view of the park and the scientology church. Totally not wheelchair accessible but worth every step up the stairs

Always friendly familiar staff and great snacks! My personal favorite is the chive & cheddar biscuits.My go-to drink is a warm matcha latte float (with oat milk) with cold vanilla ice cream on the bottom🤤.

This is one of the best coffee shops in Tacoma. It has been consistently excellent each time I come in to get my drink.I normally get a nondairy milk as a cappuccino, and they nail that each time. The milk is a great texture with a great tasting espresso shot.They also do teas which excellent for my SO who doesnt drink coffee at all.Theres ample seating inside and outside to enjoy your cup while reading a book.

It is not a bad coffee shop much better than the chains but there is only room for a couple people to sit even preCOVID and they do not roast their own coffee. We have had hit or miss service but usually they are very nice. I have been here 5 or more times and none of them have been bad.

Went to pickup a coffee in this cozy sub pop themed coffee shack before I got my haircut downstairs. Really reminded of what I miss about Tacoma. Thank you!

Visited this place for the first time today as a recommendation during my haircut. Have to say, I am very impressed! The manger there is awesome! Has a wide verity of choices. I would recommend everyone in the area to try this place. I had a latte with chocolate, hemp milk, cat and cloud coffee(which is amazing) and powder(which is mushroom base - ill get the name next time I am in). So good - must try!!

They have the best coffee and the best flavorings. The people are really nice. They used to be called Satellite Coffee, but they had to change names a while back. (Milk options seem to be cow, almond, hemp, and soy.)

Local shop that I recommend going out of your way for. Their chai tea latte is bomb. Also bring your own cup- they like to reuse and recycle for the environment!

Always excellent! Ive never had a bad cup of coffee here. There are a few tables here to sit & you can get your order to go. There is a bit of outdoor seating, as well. The decor is vintage Soviet cosmonaut related. They generally have a small variety of baked goods to choose from & the baristas are a the best. Go for the coffee & the funky, vintage atmosphere. The entrance is at the top of a set of stairs, so, unfortunately not handicap friendly.

I tried this place just the other day (December 2019).Pat (the owner) was really cool, and he was very meticulous about his shots, resulting in the best latte I’ve had in Tacoma. And I’ve tried many of the popular places.This is my new go-to spot. Hands down.

Great latte, AND they tolerate my crazy kiddos : ) it sounds silly but the hot chocolate was perfect temp so my kids didn’t burn they’re mouths and it’s those little things that count.

This cage is how I explain hipster culture. Its one of the tiniest shacks Ive ever seen and on the pricier side for coffee and pastries. Also one of the best tasting coffees Ive had and they sell local products like honey. Cool place.

For a 16 oz (largest cup they have) they are charging way too much. I thought for that price they must have some great coffee, instead it is barely tolerable. The only thing I can say is that at least I can drink it so my money doesnt go to waste.

Welp, I spent 2-3 days hopping cafes all over the puget sound and this one is the coolest I’ve seen. The decaf shots are super delicious. I really appreciate the “please pay cash” vibe. The theme is super cool. I totally bought too many of their cool stickers. I asked the Internet for the quirkiest cafes in the region and I spent 3 days searching. This was my last stop, and my favorite stop. Please go here and give them cash.

Cannot be beat. A+

The vibe here has an atmosphere of its own. I wouldnt go here again but I dont regret my time there. I would suggest you come with cash because they sell some good items, even chocolate and beans! The staff and the decorations are kind. Please dont dig too deep about the parking because it may get full and street parking may or may not be easy to get. Just be patient if you have a car.

Got a very nice latte here. Friendly service and fun decor. I hope the construction wraps up soon so it’s easier to access the parking lot.

I have been coming here for over ten years now, and I love it more every time I visit! The atmosphere of the place is like nowhere else, and every single staff member is always fantastically friendly. Plus, they always play great music of all kinds! Not to mention, the coffee and food of course, which is some of the best in all of Pierce County. I would recommend Cosmonaut Coffee Co. to anyone and everyone!

Im not much of a coffee drinker, personally. This place though, this is the only place that makes coffee I actually enjoy. Everyone who works there knows a lot about what they sell and can help you find exactly what you want, even if you dont really know what it is.

This cool little cafe has amazing chai lattes, friendly service, and hella delicious local honey for sale.

Drip coffee was delightful, and so was the service. nice to get well-brewed coffee somewhere that isn’t at all pretentious about it 🙃 also happy to find that my pup was welcomed inside and given a treat!

If I lived in the area It would keep me coming back to this small coffee shop located on one of the outside corners of Wright Park. They also serve up some small muffins and pastries/scones. They looked pretty appetizing.Its a cool building offering a great cup of coffee. the interior does not accommodate for many patrons to sit so be prepared to take it to go. I found it to be a bit pricey but well worth it. Great service and great coffee.

One of my favorite Tacoma places now. Its been here for 12 years. Small, friendly, eclectic. Not the typical cookie-cutter Starbucks/Ikea style. This place has character and the coffee is great.

Since moving into the Stadium District, Ive been frequenting this place on a near daily basis. The owner and employees are super serious about craft coffee and their passion is infectious. Definitely my favorite coffee shop in Tacoma. Hands down.

I ordered the general tso chicken extra spicy with vegetable lo mein and it was so delicious. The general tso chicken was probably the best Ive ever had like it was literally more chicken than the breaded stuff around it which you cant find anywhere else. The only thing I didnt like as much about the lo mein was their choice in noodles.

Had driven by there numerous times and we decided to stop in on our way to work. Dude had a great old school vibe and the iced Toddy was on point with taste. Didnt have any lids on, but I drank it pretty fast lol

We were visiting Tacoma from AZ and discovered this awesome place. Great Shop, great coffee, and the barista was excellent and super friendly! He even gave us the names of coffee houses to try in Seattle, which is the next part of our trip!

My wife and I always look for independant coffee shops when traveling and our go to drink is a cappuccino (european style, nothing served in a large cup/mug). The ones served by Pat and his crew are nothing short of amazing. The milk and espresso served is the most beautiful silky crema. During our short stay in Tacoma, we frequented this spot regularly and the owner was quick to remember us and our drink order; great customer service.The place is quirky in its decor, but who doesnt like a little quirky. Agree with other comments that Wright Park is a nice place for a stroll to stretch the legs. If you are visiting people in the nearby hospitals, skip the chain coffee served inside, get outside, stretch the legs, walk the 5 minutes to Cosmonaut and treat yourself to an experience and maybe even a walk in Wright Park, you wont be disappointed.

Great coffee, alternative rock, free Wi-Fi, and a retro Soviet Russia outer space theme all rolled into a fun and delicious coffee house experience. The staff are all really cool and nice, and they have cardamom lattes, my favorite!
