This is a coffee shop that truly evokes the expression theres more than meets the eye. It keeps its offerings simple, focusing on quality not quantity. Uncompromising in style or offerings yet solid on ensuring all feel welcome and understand what they are there for - coffee as an art and a point of community connection.
The coffee is pure deliciousness, the service is outstanding, the atmosphere is of true Tacomian grit. If you love real coffee, go here and you wont be disappointed.
Such a great place in hilltop. Genuinely friendly baristas, good java, and a nice vibe to hang out or to study. This place has a much appreciated different vibe than your average hip coffee shop. Theyre well-behaved-and-leashed-dog-friendly as well, which is always a bonus. Thank you for adding some love to the hilltop area!
1st time visiting today. Cool space. Tasty espresso. Great service. Will be back soon!
Good mocha. There arent a lot of places to sit. The decor is very bland.
I always hit Manifesto when I am in the neighborhood. Just finished a truly spectacular cappuccino...rivals anything I have ever had, be it in the region, Germany or Italy. Really lovely flavor to their roasting.
Simple.menu, but excellent coffee and pastries at a reasonable price.
This is a solid coffee option in a field of good coffee roasters in the south sound. Solid medium blend with a new option of in house nitro brew. Would recommend.
Nice super chill environment the coffee is excellent
Great cup of coffee. They buy green beans and roast on site. Worth the detour.
I may be a little biased due to its close proximity, (Hilltop resident, here)but Manifesto coffee is one of, if not the best local cafes. Awesome friendly staff, amazing atmosphere, and most importantly, v i b e s.
Strong and fresh cup of coffee. Best place to grab a quick better coffee
They just need more people to work the coffee when the line gets long. Other than that the coffees good.
THE Hilltop neighborhood roaster. Go there for grungy, anarchist, hipster vibes without them trying too hard. Best for hang out, getting work done, or curbside in and out coffee. Katie is also the friendliest barista!
Cute simple but good coffee. Not a lot of choices were options but if you just wanna good simple favorite no goofy stuff or foofy
One of my favorite coffee places in Tacoma. Consistently great
Great little place with a super basic menu and affordable prices! Thanks!
Coffee is some of the best I have had and is in a very great location
Overpriced coffee beans. Was referred here by a friend, the drink was good, the whole beans were $21 for 12 oz. I used it in my Jura coffee machine, its was very good coffee, but I spent $10 on a pound of coffee at another local roaster on M st. and 38th st. and the coffee was just as good. Save your money if your buying beans for home use, go somewhere else. Also didnt understand the sour mood in the shop, weird hipster vibe, not my cup of joe.
The best.
I loooove their beans! The Holiday blend is actually delicious for espresso, super chocolatey. Thank you guys!:)
Great coffee! Some of the best, wonderful atmosphere and good tunes. One of my favorite spots to study and overall the staff are extremely kind with only one exception. It can be bit daunting if you aren’t “in” with the edgy weird social crowd within Tacoma and people can be kind of clique-y and exclusive. But definitely worth checking out.
Best coffee in Tacoma hands down.
Ive had the pleasure of watching this little coffee shop grow into something special. The roasts are spectacular, and the crew know their stuff. When they add a roast, everyone is informed as to answer any questions you may have.I also love the nerdy love they give.
I love the vibe and coffee is finally done right! I will always recommend this place to artsy, coffee loving north end tacoma lovers like myself!
Id give five stars if they had more than one size of coffee
Nice atmosphere and baristas wear mask! Coffee is delicious ☕😋
My vote for the best coffee shop in Tacoma. I generally stick with a strong Americano but am always satisfied. Guests I bring who prefer fancier coffees are never disappointed. Great, quiet environment with WiFi to get some work done as well.
Good coffee just a couple minutes south of downtown. Feisty neighborhood.
If you are into coffee or espresso this place is awesome and they roast their own coffee. It is absolutely delicious coffee. Just dont expect to get a flavored latte or frappuccino. Best espresso machine ever, love the Slayer.
Started coming here about a month ago. Ive now been here a dozen times. Perfect spot to get work done, listen to good music, and drink delicious fresh espresso. The majority of the baristas are on point and know how to poor good shots, but if youre an outsider, they wont spend much time chit chatting with you. Which if you want to get some work done, is absolutely perfect.
I love this place. The coffee is wonderful, and its such a treat to come here. The staff really know their craft. Consistently excellent!
Best roasted coffee in the Pierce County area!
Hip coffee, delicious and local.
We really wanted to love this place, and it isnt bad, but for us it wasnt an excellent place for our weekend coffee excursion. The music was a smidge head-bangy, which is cool in the evening at a bar, but not when we were trying to read the paper and enjoy some casual conversing. The atmosphere is pretty cool, but seems a bit unfinished. The coffee pretty good, but not addictively so.The staff was very friendly and the manifesto coffee mugs are super cool.
This place defines fresh roasted coffee. I check the roast date before I buy bags of coffee and when shopping here I find all there bags to be within the last couple of days. I also typically get a latte here when I stop by for my bagged coffee and find them to be on point.
Was looking for a a place to study on a Sunday morning and found this place recommended from a quick google search. The place is cute and very warm and comforting. The space has limited seating, so I didnt end up staying to study, but the coffee was great and their menu is very straight forward and to the point. Definitely recommend stoping by!
Best cup of coffee Ive ever had the pleasure of drinking. Wonderful staff and perfect vibe. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Go see for yourself.
Fantastic roaster. Excellent service and attention to the quality of the in-house experience. Loved my Cortado! ☕️
Metal music vibe. Friendly staff. The house drip is a bitter Mexican roast. Dump some cinnamon, sugar and cream in it at it evens out. small cups. Generally overpriced IMO. Stop in, see what u think. Metal vibe is delicious 😋
Best coffee in Tacoma for sure. They roast their own beans in house and you can smell it from the street!! The staff are always friendly and nice. Their milk is always over steamed so I stick with an espresso, which is always on point! Highly recommended if your in the Hilltop neighborhood.
Good people, good vibes, cool shop, and wonderful coffee. We buy it for our coworking space, and I get to be a hero to all our members when I bring in a 5lb bag of freshly roasted beans. Keep up the great work guys.
Dessert was AWESOME tiramisu cannolis what else can you ask for. Price was very reasonable since you get it all for one price. COME HUNGRY AND PACE YOURSELF. Alison WAS AMAZING. Absolutely loved it. Huge selection of Italian dishes of all types. Entrees: Chicken Cachitore, espresso crusted pork, garlic meatballs... Etc. Large selection of desserts including fresh fruit.
Best coffee in Tacoma!
If they roast their own coffee, you know is gonna be good.. fresh taste and awesome service, always stop by when I drive by and get the macchiato..
This shop is the local in and out for your local neighborhood coffee. Regulars come here to mingle in this small space to catch up over the best cold brew in Tacoma. Glad to come here regularly and I’m excited to see how this small roaster and coffee shop expand and distinctively give Hilltop the hip place to be.
Delicious and great prices! I like the lids, they don’t require straws
If youre even asking... Just get a pour over, or an americano, or anything. Its great.
Very good latte makers work there.
Quick friendly service.
They have the (actual) best coffee in town, by far! They always have amazing service, treat people well, and are so welcoming of the local community. Manifesto is all around the best local coffee shop in the Tacoma area!
What a neat place. Really good espresso, truly fair prices. Great customer service. Would recommend.
Best coffee in the Puget Sound! You can watch them roast coffee right when you walk in! I have been a barista for years and must recommend the Mexican Chiappas coffee, it is life changing! You are doing yourself a disservice if you arent buying a pound of their beans to brew at home or at work. Their pastries are the bomb, the staff is very nice, their prices are great.
Superb little coffee shop. They roast and sell their product out of one room. They have very limited seating so, its a place to stop but probably not stay for too long. They sell drip, espresso, whole and ground beans and even some manifesto swag. Give it a try!
What do you like better: Wizards or waffles? Coffee or cola? Dragons or danish? Demonic critters or delicious fritters? If you answered the latter too each, your journey must continue, Manifesto doesnt offer any of those. This place deals entirely in the elixir derived of carefully prepared beans from far off lands. They take cash or card and I bet you could barter with your double edged sword or your magical services if you have the experience points.
Great coffee Cappuccino dark roast !
Cool vibes and yummy coffee drinks. Check out their Jefferson Ave location!
Organic !! Coffee and Tea... simple and also a few good pastries... good people and local artwork on the walls.
These people make a cup of delicious coffee into a work of art! Make time to sit down and enjoy a cup.
Has quickly become one of my favorite coffee roasters. I come in to get a latte and fresh roasted beans regularly. Their craft roasted coffees are so good, nuanced, and balanced.
Best tasting coffee in town, theyve never let me down. I also love buying their coffee beans. Manifesto coffee is the place to visit if youre a coffee fan.
Super unique coffee roasters. Delicious baked goods, too!
So simple and perfect. They have a great and knowledgeable crew. Coffee roasted in house. Delicious and creative, yet subtle house made syrups. Cappuccinos are always on point.
Awesome atmosphere with Metal music in the background. Coffee is superior and roasted in house. Wes is always there with a smile and great conversations.
It is like a coffee shop I spent many a good mornings at in Paris. Friendly people, accomplished baristas, GREAT coffee, and reasonable prices. A place where everybody knows your name.
Good coffee, good service, and a really well done industrial chic decor. There is a selection of comfy chairs, bar stools, and even a booth. The wifi works well. There are also a few wrapped pastries for sale, and a coffee roasting setup in the main area, which is fun to stare at. I give it 4 stars because when I visited the shop was playing some kind of scream-o rock opera soundscape as ambient music. So bring your headphones.
Artfully roasted coffee with an extremely affordable price tag. The staff are awesome and more than likely their will be some fantastic stoner metal being played. An original Tacoma gem.
Simple straightforward coffee with metal, everyone’s nice and inviting. Coffees roasted in house with good consistency and flavor. Nice place to just hang out.
Local coffee roaster with amazing coffee. When you want to have a cup of coffee made to perfection, Manifesto is the place to be. Cozy atmosphere on Hilltop with the perfect pour of coffee. Coffee is simple here; espresso, late, cappuccino, machiatto. No frills, never bitter; adding cream or syrup is almost a sin compared to the amazing taste of the pure espresso drip. The Baristas make their job look like art in motion, they are so skilled at their craft its almost crushing to put a top on the to go cup, and the taste... Divine. This spot is a Hilltop gem.
My quiet and homey go-to coffee and treat shop in Tacoma.
Very cool coffee shop, they roast their own beans
Favorite Coffee Shop in Town - Jack, Justin and Wes are all super friendly, great price, best cup of coffee in Tacoma. Try their Spicy Cola syrup if youre feeling adventurous.
Coffee is really good. They grind their own beans. Heard they are expanding and are putting in barn doors. Great spot
This is the best coffee in Tacoma!!
A plucky little upstart roaster in a little city full of upstart roasters. This one has wizard art and sometimes metal music. Theyve doubled their size and added roller doors, which makes for a real nice place to hang around on a sunny day for a coffee.
Passing through town and a friend recommended visiting. Fast, quiet, and cheap. The coffee wasnt bad.
Coffe breed on site.Delirious taste.Pastries to die forAwesome vibeGreat service
The coffee was ok, staff nice but nothing to write home about!
So there you walking down S 11th just past MLK and almost to S J St and you realize that morning coffee you meant to make...its sadly not in your hand and the caffeine craving is starting to hit you hardcore...no worries as you see a little coffee corner and step inside. You walk up to the counter. You order. You collect your coffee and move to the seats outside because it isnt raining...oh yes...good times...
Ill keep it simple. Manifesto has excellent coffee. Not only are they a rad Tacoma coffee shop but they also roast all their own coffee in house.
If you are reading this to determine wether or not you should go here for coffee. You definitely should. Black magic goodness.
I feel that this establishment only truly caters to snobby white folks. Snobby white folka who look at you funny upon entering the building. The coffee was good but the service was Mediocre and the Girl behind the counter had no personality unless she was interacting with her own kind! My feelings I may be wrong. But the ENERGY SUCKED IN THERE!!!
Beans are top choice. A very modest and cozy coffee shop. A great addition to the hilltop neighborhood and overall to Tacomas coffee culture.
Great Coffee, chill atmosphere. 100% recommend
One of my all-time favorite coffee house has great coffee Cool vibe fun place to it
Manifesto is no frills, in a really good way. I think its almost a perfect opposing force to Starbucks: Theres no gentle, generic music playing. Manifesto has just a few stools and chairs instead of overstuffed chairs everywhere. A few carefully selected posters on white plaster instead of generic hotel-room-style art and textured walls. Pleasant, reserved service by people who are happy to talk coffee instead of three Starbucks employees asking how my day was. An incredibly short drink menu with just the basics and everything brewed expertly, instead of four sizes of 50 different niche and seasonal beverages and a barista figuring it out from a card. These guys are the real deal.
Awesome cappuccino I just got here and my husband got an americano. Espresso top notch 👍
